Dark-colored Fairy Tale: Seven Magicians - Chapter 66: "Pretty red."
Chapter 66: “Pretty red.”
Liu Menglu didn’t immediately understand, and a hint of mischief flashed in Chloe’s eyes. She said nothing, waiting for Liu Menglu to figure it out herself.
Watching this, Yang Shishi sighed softly, realizing that this once-ethereal magical girl had finally been touched by the worldly. But that was a good thing.
As she thought this, the red light in her eyes flashed again, but this time, Chloe didn’t notice it.
Liu Menglu kept thinking about what “pretty red” meant but couldn’t figure it out until lunchtime. When she took out her bento, she suddenly froze, then looked at Chloe with a mournful expression. “Aiai.”
Chloe looked up, her face expressionless but her eyes filled with a smile. At that moment, Liu Menglu silently opened her bento in protest.
Today’s lunch was made with a generous amount of ketchup, making it a vibrant red.
One person watched with a pitiful expression, while the other protested without words. Neither of them was angry. They were like a single entity, always showing their most vulnerable sides to each other, no matter the time or place.
Yang Shishi put a mouthful of her bento into her mouth and suddenly felt that her own food was no longer delicious. With a sigh of despair, she nudged the exposed back of Li Qiuyu’s hand. “Tsk, tsk, tsk, this dog food is so filling.”
The moment Yang Shishi touched her, Li Qiuyu withdrew her hand. After glancing at Yang Shishi, she seemed a little anxious.
After hearing Yang Shishi’s words, she became even more anxious and, on an impulse, swapped her bento with Liu Menglu’s.
The bento she was eating today was a natural green. It was, well, very green.
Liu Menglu, who had her bento suddenly swapped, was stunned for a moment. Then she smiled and nodded. “Thank you, Qiuqiu.”
Li Qiuyu didn’t say anything. She just looked at the girl with the entirely green bento in her hands and glanced at Chloe. Suddenly, the world seemed beautiful.
Yang Shishi, who saw all this, shivered and took a few steps back.
Ever since Chloe appeared, the variety of food in Yang Shishi’s bento had been gradually reduced because Chloe didn’t allow her to mooch off of Liu Menglu’s bento and had a possessive streak over the food inside.
After realizing this, Yang Shishi never again took the food she liked from Liu Menglu’s bento.
Now that Li Qiuyu had taken the entire bento, wouldn’t Chloe’s temper explode on the spot?
Indeed, seeing Li Qiuyu suddenly swap bentos with Liu Menglu, Chloe’s pretty face instantly became clouded. She adopted an offensive stance, and the next second, she threw a punch directly at Li Qiuyu’s stomach.
Li Qiuyu was not a weakling. She calmly dodged the attack with a small jump. As if to provoke her, she took a bite of the bento.
The moment the food entered her mouth, even Li Qiuyu, who was tired of eating luxurious food, couldn’t help but sigh that Menglu’s cooking was truly excellent.
Although she had indeed seen a pool of red bl00d moments ago, Li Qiuyu was used to it by now. She ate her bento, occasionally commenting on it.
“The taste is good, very delicious. This sweet and sour fish is exactly to my liking,” Li Qiuyu said, holding up a piece.
This behavior from Li Qiuyu made Yang Shishi feel a little odd, as if Li Qiuyu were deliberately provoking Chloe.
Speaking of which, Chloe had also been acting strange lately.
Had she been away from them for too long? Otherwise, why would a person’s personality change so much?
Unable to figure it out, Yang Shishi simply focused her attention on Chloe.
Chloe’s intentions were easy to read. Her face was screaming that she wanted to kill Li Qiuyu.
Seeing this, Yang Shishi moved even further away to ensure she wouldn’t be caught in the crossfire.
The two’s confrontation was quick, but Li Qiuyu clearly had the upper hand.
She easily dodged Chloe’s attacks with a series of agile moves, which made Yang Shishi exclaim, “What good skills!”
Liu Menglu also saw what was happening. Because Chloe was short and her limbs weren’t long enough, and with the desk in the way, Chloe was a little restrained.
She really wanted to ask Li Qiuyu to go outside for a fight, but due to the person who jumped off the building, the school had sealed off the corridors, prohibiting students from leaving.
With this external interference, Chloe couldn’t do anything but give up on that idea.
But just letting Li Qiuyu enjoy Liu Menglu’s bento?
Chloe was not willing to accept that.
She stared at Li Qiuyu, her mind constantly racing. She wouldn’t have known how to handle this before, but now she had a powerful ally!
For the past two days, she had been flipping through the book Lu Yuting gave her, memorizing all the tricks inside. Chloe firmly believed that she could take down Li Qiuyu with that book!
Although the content of the book was a little embarrassing and could lead to public humiliation, the teacher who taught Chloe how to fight always said, “To win, you must take down your opponent at any cost, even if the methods are low.”
Chloe had always remembered this, so—Chloe’s mouth curved down, and she forced out tears, hugging Liu Menglu’s waist.
The next second, she started to cry.
Yang Shishi felt like her eyes were going blind. Was this really Chloe?
Liu Menglu was also stunned.
Why was she crying?
Li Qiuyu, on the other hand, calmly raised an eyebrow, ready to face the situation without changing her own strategy.
Liu Menglu didn’t believe that Chloe would cry.
In Liu Menglu’s mind, Chloe had always been a cool, calm, and composed magical girl who killed demons. Although she was later led astray and became lazy and shameless, crying was something that should never happen to Chloe.
But as time went on, Liu Menglu felt a wetness on her chest. This time, Liu Menglu was no longer calm.
She quickly threw her bento to the side, her expression strange and curious.
“Aiai, why are you crying?”
Liu Menglu was hugged and couldn’t move. She could only pat Chloe’s back and stroke her hair to comfort her silently, even though her expression was a little awkward at the moment.
Chloe, however, didn’t know the Chinese saying, “Haste makes waste.” Feeling Liu Menglu’s concern, she thought the book was working. After mentally praising the book, she adjusted her expression and voice to sound wronged, and she held up her reddened hand. “Mengmeng, it hurts so much. Li Qiuyu used her magical power to create an invisible shield and hit my hand, even though I didn’t use any of my own.”
As she cried, Chloe held out her hand for Liu Menglu to see.
Sure enough, Liu Menglu only saw that Chloe’s delicate hand was all red.
Li Qiuyu naturally saw it too, but didn’t she know whether she used her magical power or not?
Li Qiuyu disdained to pay any attention to Chloe’s false accusation.
She herself looked down on these small tricks. She had experienced infighting in major families before. Those things… she found herself even more unwilling to explain and felt a greater sense of disgust toward Chloe, whom she hadn’t cared about before.
“Are you sure you’re a magical girl from Falion?”
