Dating My Ex After Breaking Up - Chapter 4
Chapter 4
Shen Zhirou’s gaze couldn’t help but drift to Lu Yao’s right shoulder. The black silk strap lazily slid to one side, leaving a faint pink mark on Lu Yao’s fair skin, captivating her attention.
Lu Yao seemed to notice Shen Zhirou’s stare. She glanced at her own shoulder, then looked directly at Shen Zhirou, her eyelashes fluttering lightly like cicada wings, her voice carrying a hint of laziness. “Why are you still standing there? Come to bed.”
“Okay.” Shen Zhirou felt a jolt, as if Lu Yao’s words had burned her. Her slender fingers gripped each other tightly. She hadn’t expected to share a bed with Lu Yao on her first day moving in.
Shen Zhirou sat on the bed’s edge. The right side of the mattress sank deeply under her weight. She hadn’t anticipated Lu Yao’s bedroom mattress would be so soft and nearly lost her balance. She quickly steadied herself to sit properly.
Lu Yao lay on her side, propping herself up on one arm, her gaze leisurely fixed on Shen Zhirou. “I don’t like sleeping on hard mattresses, so the one in my bedroom is very soft. What about you?”
Lu Yao’s voice came from behind, no longer distant like during the day, but warm and soft.
Shen Zhirou supported herself and lay flat on the soft bed, sinking slightly into it. “My old apartment had a hard palm mattress, but it’s fine. I don’t mind much and can sleep on anything.”
“That’s good. I was worried you wouldn’t be used to it.” Lu Yao’s gaze lingered on Shen Zhirou. She reached out and poked the blanket between them, chuckling lightly. “Why aren’t you looking at me? Are you tired and want to rest?”
“No, if you want to chat, I’ll keep you company.” Shen Zhirou lay flat because she was shy. This was her first time lying in bed with a girl she liked. Her ears and cheeks were red, and she feared Lu Yao would notice. But since Lu Yao said that, continuing to lie flat seemed rude.
With that thought, Shen Zhirou gritted her teeth and turned to face Lu Yao. Her gaze landed on Lu Yao’s fair shoulder again, making her face feel even hotter.
Lu Yao looked into Shen Zhirou’s eyes, staring for a few seconds. Shen Zhirou grew embarrassed and looked away first.
The corners of Lu Yao’s lips curved slightly, her eyes brimming with amusement. She reached out and gently touched Shen Zhirou’s cheek, asking softly, “Why don’t you dare look at me?”
Lu Yao’s thin lips held a faint smile. Her brownish-gray eyes, unlike their sharpness during the day, softened with a gentle glow. Shen Zhirou glanced at them and felt herself sinking in. The skin where Lu Yao’s palm touched her cheek was already burning.
Shen Zhirou decided to be honest. “I’m a bit embarrassed. Like I said, this is my first time in a relationship. We’ve only met a few times, and I’m still not used to it.”
Lu Yao’s brow furrowed slightly at the word “relationship,” but only for a moment. The atmosphere tonight was pleasant, and she didn’t want small things to ruin it.
Lu Yao smiled warmly again. She propped herself up and leaned closer to Shen Zhirou. The strap on her right shoulder still hung loosely, but she seemed completely unaware, unbothered.
“Not used to it? Let me help you.” Her thin lips curved lightly. Her slender wrist supported her on the soft bed as she leaned closer to Shen Zhirou. The soft blanket slipped off, revealing the fair skin of her shoulder and neck.
Shen Zhirou could no longer hear anything around her. Her heartbeat pounded like a drum, each beat louder than the last.
A moment later, Shen Zhirou felt Lu Yao’s breath drawing nearer until a soft warmth touched her lips, fleeting and brief.
“How’s that? Feeling better?” Lu Yao asked softly, her voice like a hook, impossibly tender.
Shen Zhirou’s ears were completely red. The situation was beyond anything she could have imagined. Meeting only twice, moving in together, and now sharing a bed—they had even kissed, though it was brief. In her daze, she didn’t catch what Lu Yao asked, only staring blankly at Lu Yao, who leaned softly against the pillow, gazing at her.
Seeing Shen Zhirou’s expression, Lu Yao’s eyes sparkled with even more amusement. Her gaze settled on Shen Zhirou’s clear, gentle eyes for a moment before drifting down to her lips. Compared to Lu Yao’s thin lips, Shen Zhirou’s were fuller.
Lu Yao instinctively pursed her lips, savoring the brief touch. Seeing Shen Zhirou just staring, Lu Yao chuckled and asked, “Still not used to it? One more time?”
With that, Lu Yao leaned in again, pressing her thin lips to Shen Zhirou’s. This time, she didn’t pull away quickly but looked into Shen Zhirou’s eyes and deepened the kiss.
It was Shen Zhirou’s first time kissing anyone, and her technique was clumsy. Lu Yao wasn’t much better. They stumbled like people learning to walk, but after a few tries, they found a rhythm. Shen Zhirou finally understood why couples loved kissing.
Kissing brought a deep, instinctive joy that made her heart race uncontrollably.
After the kiss, a faint pink tinged the corners of Lu Yao’s eyes. She was slightly out of breath and pulled back a little, then nestled into Shen Zhirou’s arms.
Lu Yao lazily leaned into Shen Zhirou, her eyes half-open as she looked at her, her tone soft and playful. “Sister, should we try something else?”
“Something else? Like what?” Shen Zhirou’s face flushed after asking, and she didn’t dare meet Lu Yao’s eyes.
Lu Yao looked up at Shen Zhirou, noticing her shyness. Her eyelashes fluttered like cicada wings, as if she were thinking. Her soft voice sounded again. “Sister, I forgot to ask during our last two meetings. In the future, can you be on top? I don’t have much stamina and get tired easily.”
Shen Zhirou froze at Lu Yao’s words, her entire body feeling like it had been steamed. After a long pause, she stammered, “Okay, I’ll try my best.”
Lu Yao propped herself up slightly, the strap of her nightgown slipping further down, but she didn’t care. She continued leaning into Shen Zhirou like she had no bones. “So, to celebrate our first day together, shouldn’t we do something, fiancée?”
Lu Yao’s fair, delicate skin dazzled Shen Zhirou, who avoided looking at her right shoulder and focused on her eyes instead. Genuinely unsure, she asked, “Do what?”
Lu Yao found propping herself up too tiring and sank back into Shen Zhirou’s arms. Her pink, thin lips neared Shen Zhirou’s ear, teasing or reminding. “What we just talked about. Things like this take time to get in sync.”
Shen Zhirou’s heart was already racing, and Lu Yao’s words made it pound even harder. The warm breath against her ear made it tremble slightly.
Lu Yao noticed the subtle shaking and deliberately pinched Shen Zhirou’s red ear, chuckling as she teased, “Sister, your ears look red.”
Shen Zhirou closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths to calm herself. She’d never been in a relationship and wondered if others started this intensely with someone like Lu Yao.
Seeing Shen Zhirou stay silent, Lu Yao nestled her face into Shen Zhirou’s shoulder and neck, softly whining, “Sister, this position isn’t comfortable. Can we try with you on top?”
Shen Zhirou agreed almost without thinking. As Lu Yao had said, she lacked stamina and didn’t want to move much. Her gaze fixed on Shen Zhirou, as if signaling her to lift her and place her below. Blushing, Shen Zhirou complied.
When Lu Yao finally lay beneath, she clung to Shen Zhirou, urging her to kiss her again. Shen Zhirou, ears red, did as asked.
She felt Lu Yao transformed in bed, shedding her daytime coldness bit by bit, becoming like a cunning fox, impossible to look away from—especially for Shen Zhirou, who was experiencing her first girlfriend.
Lu Yao guided Shen Zhirou’s hand downward, her eyes misty. The red mole on her collarbone stood out vividly. Shen Zhirou, feeling the warmth in her hand, stared at the tiny mole and kissed it.
Time passed slowly, and the room’s sounds gradually faded. Shen Zhirou got up, put on her nightgown, and fetched a warm, damp towel from the bathroom to clean Lu Yao. She then took a quick shower and returned to the soft bed.
Lu Yao, eyes closed, instinctively snuggled closer to Shen Zhirou, finally settling in her arms as her breathing steadied.
Shen Zhirou looked at the person in her arms, feeling like everything that happened was a dream. She was really with Lu Yao, and things had moved so fast. Her heart felt like it was being bumped by little deer with cute antlers—joyful one moment, burning with excitement the next, too thrilled to sleep.
Shen Zhirou didn’t know how long she stayed in that exhilarated state, but eventually, holding Lu Yao, she fell into a deep sleep.
At six in the morning, Shen Zhirou woke up to her usual biological clock. She was used to rising early, making breakfast in her old apartment, and had formed the habit.
When she woke, Lu Yao was still fast asleep in her arms. Shen Zhirou gently kissed Lu Yao’s cheek, carefully placed her on the bed, treating her like a rare treasure.
Shen Zhirou’s steps were lighter than usual. The only discomfort was her sore right wrist. Her lips curved slightly, thinking she’d get used to it with practice.
