Deceased Mother's Inheritance - Chapter 12
Chapter 12: Wet.
The lights in the living room were already off.
Borrowing the light from the courtyard, she opened the door and walked step by step to Meng Zhengyue’s door, listening carefully for a sound.
Meng Zhengyue came out of the bathroom and saw a new message on her phone.
Yun Zhixue: “What are you doing?”
Meng Zhengyue replied: “Just finished showering. Why aren’t you asleep yet?” She was confused. Yun Zhixue’s room was dark when she went upstairs.
Yun Zhixue: “Is my mom asleep?”
Meng Zhengyue:”Not yet.”
Bang, bang, bang—
There was a rapid knock on the door.
The door opened, and Meng Zhengyue looked at Yun Zhixue in surprise. Yun Zhixue said softly, “I didn’t bring my medicine.”
“Mm, I have a backup here. Wait a moment.”
Yun Zhixue’s gaze went inside. Yun Jing was sitting on the bed, looking at her phone. Yun Zhixue scanned her up and down. She hadn’t changed her clothes.
In fact, Yun Zhixue rarely spoke to Yun Jing on her own. Today, she did. “Mom… can I take her to my room?”
Her mother frowned, looked up at her, and said, “It’s so late and you’re not asleep yet? Take the medicine and go put it on yourself.”
Yun Zhixue said, “It hurts, and it’s itchy. I really want to scratch it.” She lifted her shirt, and a small scab fell off, revealing pink flesh.
Meng Zhengyue was also thinking of giving her the ointment and telling her to go back to bed quickly. She said, “I’ll go.”
The door closed, leaving only Yun Jing inside. The two of them walked step by step down the hallway toward the room.
Meng Zhengyue suddenly said, “I saw you had medicine in your bag.”
Her lie was exposed. Yun Zhixue felt a little anxious. How should she answer? If Meng Zhengyue had been in front of her, she would have definitely seen her flustered expression and known she was lying.
“I… I was… I didn’t want you to, I was worried about you…”
She was about to be pushed into a corner. Meng Zhengyue walked to her side and looked at her. “What, are you afraid your mom will bully me, so you came over?”
Yun Zhixue maintained her composure. “Mm.”
Meng Zhengyue smiled.
She thought to herself, “I didn’t treat this little girl well for nothing.”
The door closed. Yun Zhixue lifted her clothes, revealing her lower abdomen. Meng Zhengyue’s fingers landed on it, causing a mix of itchiness and numbness.
Just now, Meng Zhengyue had indeed been taking a shower. She was wearing a very sexy black lace robe with a crisscross strap at the neckline. The sheer material revealed her fair skin.
The robe only vaguely covered her thighs.
She had casually put on an outer layer in the room to avoid suspicion, but the constant scent coming from inside couldn’t be concealed.
“Didn’t you shower?”
Suddenly, all sense of propriety was gone. She nodded, her voice hoarse, and mumbled a soft “mm,” her eyes filled with anticipation.
Meng Zhengyue held her wrist and asked, “Is it pain or itchiness? If it’s pain, I’ll take you to the hospital. It might be infected.”
Yun Zhixue’s cheeks were flushed. “Itchy…”
“The wound is healing.” Meng Zhengyue said, “You should go shower first.”
When she was discharged from the hospital, the doctor had prescribed antibiotics and painkillers. They made her dizzy and nauseous, so Yun Zhixue stopped taking them when she felt she had recovered enough.
Meng Zhengyue twisted the bathroom doorknob. “You go shower first.”
Yun Zhixue quickly took off her clothes, trying to look outside through the glass door, but she couldn’t see anything. She quickly rinsed herself off and then pushed the door open.
Meng Zhengyue was still there.
Meng Zhengyue’s face was cold. “Go shower again.”
Yun Zhixue took a step back into the room, her eyes occasionally glancing outside. She washed herself very cleanly and also put on some fragrance.
She regretted so much that she hadn’t accepted Meng Zhengyue’s invitation to shower together. Meng Zhengyue didn’t even want to come in today. She had been rejected by her. Did she not want to try anymore?
Meng Zhengyue had a cup of water in her hand. She held a pill to Yun Zhixue’s mouth. “Ah, open your mouth. Take this, and you’ll be fine.”
Yun Zhixue held her wrist and took the pill from her fingertips. Her lips touched a softer hand. Meng Zhengyue fed her the water. Yun Zhixue quickly swallowed the pill. Meng Zhengyue made her drink two more sips of water. “Good girl.”
Her face was hot.
She had lied, and she was still praised.
The medicine was taken, which meant Meng Zhengyue was about to leave. Yun Zhixue stopped her. “I can’t sleep.”
“Are you afraid of your mom?”
Yun Zhixue nodded.
Meng Zhengyue explained, “I was the one who hit him. It has nothing to do with you. Study hard and prepare for your exams.”
Yun Zhixue stalled for time. “Won’t she be angry that I called you out?”
“Why would she be angry? She flew for eleven hours. By the time I go back, she’ll probably be asleep. It would be wrong for her to find me the next day.”
“Mm. That’s good.”
Yun Zhixue realized that the itchiness on her abdomen had stopped, but her heart felt itchy. Maybe it was because Meng Zhengyue had slept on her sofa… She didn’t want Meng Zhengyue and Yun Jing to sleep in the same bed.
Her heart was itchy, but she couldn’t cut open her body to scratch it.
“Can you… can you sleep with me? I have nightmares,” Yun Zhixue continued to lie. “I dream about being pinned to the ground with no one helping me.”
This was what Meng Zhengyue was most afraid of. When she went upstairs, she had talked to Yun Jing about taking Yun Zhixue to a psychologist so she wouldn’t have any psychological issues. It was just a suggestion. She didn’t expect…
She led her to the bed and used a tissue to wipe her fingers.
Yun Zhixue moved to one half of the bed and said, “You sleep here.”
It was already one in the morning. Meng Zhengyue yawned and got into bed. She lay on her side, teasing her. “You won’t suddenly turn on me and kick me out tomorrow, will you?”
Yun Zhixue’s face was hot. Meng Zhengyue turned off the lights and said, “Sleep.”
In the darkness, the bedding was filled with both of their scents. Pomegranate mixed with tuberose. It was just an ordinary body wash scent, but it made her unable to sleep. It was her mother’s first night back, and her lover was sleeping in her daughter’s room.
She really wanted to turn over and hug Meng Zhengyue. She wanted her to touch her, just once. Not being able to touch her was so painful.
How, how could she not quit this habit?
It was just the scent of body wash, how could it be so fragrant?
She was able to stop drinking mother’s milk as an infant. Why did she suddenly want mother’s milk now?
She knew that as long as the wound wasn’t healed, she would have a chance to keep Meng Zhengyue and Yun Jing apart, but… if she scratched the scabs every day, it would be discovered.
Meng Zhengyue, why don’t you do something to me?
After about an hour, she was still awake and full of energy. She heard Meng Zhengyue get off the bed, twist the doorknob, and leave.
Yun Zhixue followed her off the bed. It was pitch black. She lightened her footsteps, avoiding the moonlight shining through the window. Meng Zhengyue went into the room. She didn’t turn on the lights or say a word.
Her mother was asleep.
Yun Zhixue slept very poorly that night. She had a strange dream. In the dream, she took off her shirt and hugged Meng Zhengyue. The door knocked loudly, and then it opened. Her mother stood angrily at the door, looking at the two of them. Meng Zhengyue touched her lower abdomen with one hand and played with her lips with the other. “Idiot, this is my little lover.”
The dream was very short. It just kept replaying this one part. When she woke up, her heart was pounding.
After brushing her teeth and washing her face, the blush on her face faded. She went to her door, her hand on the doorknob. Just as she was about to step out, she pulled back and twisted it hard, staring at the door in a daze.
A message came in on her phone. Yun Jing: [Come to the study. Bring your report card.]
The study was actually Yun Zhixue’s study. It had a lot of science books in it.
Yun Jing was sitting at the desk, working on her computer. When she heard the movement, she looked up at her and asked, “How do you feel about her now?”
As soon as she said it, she noticed that Yun Zhixue’s expression was a little twisted and she looked very uncomfortable. “She saved your life and went to school to fight for you. Shouldn’t you like her?”
Yun Zhixue clenched her fingers. She said, “I don’t know how to like her…”
Yun Jing said, “Then learn.”
Yun Zhixue looked up at her.
“Is it that hard? Just like you learn your studies, you can follow a template.”
Yun Zhixue wasn’t sure what kind of love she should have for Meng Zhengyue. “What if… she doesn’t like me?”
Yun Jing said, “Do I need to teach you that too? Don’t complicate things.”
Her tone was exactly the same as when she was a child. Back then, she would tell Yun Zhixue to fight back when she was bullied. Now… Yun Zhixue had to figure it out herself.
Yun Zhixue asked, “Mom, do you like her a lot?”
Yun Jing was taken aback by her question. She had many lovers. She leaned back in her chair. “Pretty much.”
She didn’t quite understand Yun Zhixue’s thoughts and didn’t want to delve into them. “Otherwise, why would I bring her back? For you to play with?”
Yun Jing’s tone was not gentle. “I’ve arranged for a stylist. The driver will take you to get your hair fixed.”
Yun Zhixue pinched her fingers. “I want to keep it this way.”
“I will solve this matter, but you still need to pay attention to your image at school.”
“No, Mom,” Yun Zhixue said softly. “If I don’t keep it. People will think I’m bullying others…”
Yun Jing frowned. She didn’t compromise but glanced at her hair. “Go to school later.”
Yun Zhixue didn’t answer. She asked, “Where did Meng Zhengyue go?”
“She’s sleeping downstairs.”
“Why is she sleeping downstairs?”
Yun Jing was jet-lagged and tired from the long journey. She was annoyed by her chatter. “If you want to know, go ask her yourself.”
Meng Zhengyue had gotten up at dawn to work on her studio affairs. Afraid of disturbing Yun Jing, she specifically worked on her laptop in the living room. She was now napping quietly on the table.
The faint chirping of birds could be heard from outside the window. The chef was busy cooking in the kitchen. With just a slight turn, she could see everything in the side hall.
Yun Zhixue tilted her head, watching Meng Zhengyue next to her.
Meng Zhengyue’s scent was not strong.
She gently touched her cheek with her finger. Her gaze fell on her chest, but she didn’t dare to touch it. She just quietly took a deep breath.
A few seconds later, she placed Meng Zhengyue’s hand on her own lips and caressed it back and forth.
Then, she put it in her mouth.
Mom.
Do you know she’s touching my mouth?
She even put her finger inside.
The chef was cooking pork ribs. It made a loud bubbling sound. He then poured oil into the pot, making a fierce sound.
Yun Zhixue trembled in shock, almost biting Meng Zhengyue. She licked her fingertip with her tongue.
It was like she was suffering from a thirst. She couldn’t bear to take it out.
She knew her strict mother was still in a meeting upstairs. She couldn’t come down anytime soon. Her mother’s lover was napping on the table. Her lips were rosy, and they had a soft sheen. Her Cupid’s bow was full.
Everything from last night was still fresh in her mind.
She put her finger on Meng Zhengyue’s lips again.
She first gently touched the philtrum. A tingling sensation immediately ran up her fingertip. She held her breath, slowly tracing the lip line with her thumb. It was so smooth.
It was softer and wetter than she had imagined, with the unconscious warm breath of a sleeping person.
Her fingertip began to tremble.
When her knuckle tentatively entered the crevice between her lips, the sleeping person gave an unconscious groan, and her teeth loosened slightly—it went in.
The sound of a door opening upstairs echoed. Footsteps were getting closer. Her fingertip was still in Meng Zhengyue’s slightly parted lips. Yun Zhixue couldn’t bear to pull it out—not until the sound of high heels was clear enough to identify as the black block heels Yun Jing wore most often. She pulled her finger out so quickly that it left a trail of saliva.
The sound of the footsteps also woke up Meng Zhengyue. Meng Zhengyue tiredly opened her eyes and put her hand on her lips. What was going on? Was she so stressed lately that it was affecting her stomach? Was she drooling?
Yun Jing arrived in the living room.
She heard Meng Zhengyue asking her daughter for a tissue. Then her daughter took out two tissues and handed them to her. She didn’t know what she had touched. Her two fingers were wet. Under Yun Jing’s watchful eyes, she put her hand behind her back and clenched her fingers.
