Deceased Mother's Inheritance - Chapter 16
Chapter 16: Biting.
Yun Zhixue was hugging Meng Zhengyue. She slept very happily and contentedly. She wanted to press herself against Meng Zhengyue, but she was afraid of waking her up.
The doctor said that what she was doing was normal and that she shouldn’t feel ashamed. The doctor was so good… She really liked being with Meng Zhengyue.
She smelled so good, but her mouth got wet easily.
As soon as dawn broke, Yun Zhixue quietly sneaked back into Yun Jing’s room. Yun Jing seemed to have turned over in her sleep and didn’t notice.
As the morning light appeared, the summer heat began to rise. Yun Zhixue quietly finished washing up. When she went downstairs, she ran into Meng Zhengyue grinding coffee.
She rolled up the left sleeve of her shirt, revealing a slender wrist. She held a porcelain cup and asked, “Did you sleep well?”
Yun Zhixue nodded vigorously.
“Did you bite your fingers?”
Yun Zhixue shook her head.
“It seems children still need their mothers to be with them.”
Yun Jing, who was coming down the stairs, looked deeply at the fingers holding the coffee cup, then frowned and looked away.
At the dining table, Yun Zhixue ate in a slow and orderly manner. Her movements were elegant and proper. The way she picked up a tissue to gently wipe her mouth showed she was well-mannered.
Yun Zhixue’s eyes were clear and bright, and her cheeks had a healthy pink color. Even her lips were rosier than usual. Her body was no longer as thin as before. Unbeknownst to her, she had shed her childishness, and there was a bit more sharpness and aggression on her brows that came with being an adult.
Afterward, she went upstairs to do test papers and recite texts. She studied exceptionally hard, not wanting to make any more mistakes.
But whenever her mind wandered and she thought of Meng Zhengyue—
She couldn’t help but want to go downstairs to see her.
She came down twice in a row.
The first time, she was sneaky. The second time, she met Yun Jing’s gaze. Yun Jing was sitting on the sofa, looking at documents. Her eyes scanned Yun Zhixue from head to toe. Yun Zhixue walked straight to the kitchen to make juice.
Yun Zhixue squeezed two cups of juice, one for Meng Zhengyue and one for herself. She also poured a cup of water for Yun Jing.
Under high pressure, Yun Zhixue’s biting became more and more frequent. Meng Zhengyue took a sip of juice and glanced at her. The straw in her mouth was bitten flat, with deep teeth marks.
Meng Zhengyue took out her phone and searched for a solution. The answer that popped up on the screen was: “People who like to bite straws have a strong sexual appetite.”
Meng Zhengyue frowned. What kind of nonsense was this?
She searched again.
“Proper care for a baby’s oral stage”: 1. Don’t deliberately stop them. 2. Try to breastfeed. 3. Provide a substitute, such as a pacifier, teething toy, or teething stick. 4…
A comment below read: “Actually, the best way is to hit the child’s mouth. Just hit them whenever they bite their fingers. They’ll remember it and stop.”
Hit her mouth?
Yun Zhixue was in a stressful period. How could she hit her?
She walked over and pulled the straw out of Yun Zhixue’s mouth.
Yun Zhixue looked at Meng Zhengyue in confusion, letting her lead her to the sofa. Meng Zhengyue looked for a nail clipper but found that her ten fingers were bitten bare. In the end, she had to take her to the sink and carefully rub every space between her fingers with disinfectant.
Yun Zhixue’s fingertips were soft, as if she were in a dream, until Yun Jing’s call came from the stairwell.
That gaze felt like a heavy block of lead on her shoulder. She followed her upstairs uneasily. Just then, the housekeeper was taking off the sheets and duvets in her room to wash them.
Yun Zhixue really wanted to rush up and stop her. Meng Zhengyue’s scent was in there. But Yun Jing was walking in front of her, so she could only bear it.
When they got to the office, Yun Jing was sitting in a chair, looking at her coldly.
Yun Zhixue quickly realized that what happened yesterday might have been discovered…
She nervously bit her teeth and asked proactively, “What’s wrong?”
Yun Jing said, “How did you sleep last night?”
As expected, it was discovered? How was it discovered? What did she see?
She tried to comfort herself. It didn’t matter even if Yun Jing found out. She just went back to the room to sleep. What’s wrong with that?
But she was still terrified.
“I went back to the room to sleep,” Yun Zhixue said in a low voice. “I really can’t sleep with you.”
Yun Jing’s expression was a little ugly. “So?”
Yun Zhixue: “Mom, why don’t you sleep by yourself?”
At this moment, Yun Jing’s phone rang.
Yun Zhixue’s eyes followed the sound and she glanced at it. There was a message on it: [Come to my place tonight. I miss you.]
Noticing that Yun Zhixue was looking, Yun Jing flipped her phone over. “Get out.”
Yun Zhixue didn’t move. “Mom, your phone is still ringing…”
Yun Jing’s expression became even more severe. “Do you think I want to sleep with you? Your psychological state isn’t important. What I want are your grades. It’s related to whether you can get into a lab, do you understand?”
“I’ve been crazy with you for so long. You should be better now.”
“Don’t cause me any more trouble.”
Yun Jing’s words were like a knife stabbing into Yun Zhixue. Slowly, Yun Zhixue’s eyes stung. She looked up and listened to Yun Jing say that if she didn’t get better, she was useless.
A lot of feelings rushed up. Being bullied as a child, being scolded, having her hair cut, being pinned to the ground, being ignored, and being blamed by her… Ah.
Why would she suddenly feel sad and wronged? It was so strange.
Yun Jing’s phone rang again.
“Get out.”
Yun Zhixue closed the door and vaguely heard Yun Jing answering the phone. Yun Jing’s tone became very soft, as if she was coaxing someone.
It was so strange.
Yun Jing was sometimes gentle to people, but why was she so harsh to her?
Her arm started to tremble uncontrollably again. The old side effects resurfaced.
As she was thinking, she suddenly realized that Yun Jing was a stupid woman, thinking that this genetic disease called “Meng Zhengyue” had a quick cure.
Yun Jing would never feel sorry for her. She was sick, and whatever happened to her, Yun Jing wouldn’t care. In recent days, she had only been a little patient for the sake of her reputation.
She loosened her tightly clenched fingers.
Ah.
…Idiot.
Yun Zhixue went back to her room, found a clean sheet, and spread it out. She then put the pillow that Meng Zhengyue had used into her own pillowcase and placed it on her side.
Yun Zhixue went downstairs to look for Meng Zhengyue. Meng Zhengyue wasn’t there. She was dazed and kept pacing in the living room. Would Yun Jing ask her to leave Meng Zhengyue? She didn’t want to break up.
She sent a message: “Where are you?”
Meng Zhengyue replied: “At the supermarket.”
Yun Zhixue’s heart dropped: “[I want to go to the supermarket too.”
Meng Zhengyue: “I’ll take you next time. It’s hot. I’ll be back soon.”
“Is there anything you want to eat?”
Meng Zhengyue sent her many pictures of snacks. Yun Zhixue rarely ate snacks. After a while, she replied: “Apple.”
She added another line: “Green apple.”
Meng Zhengyue weighed a bag and took a picture for her to see.
Yun Zhixue: “Mommy.”
Meng Zhengyue: “Hmm?”
Yun Zhixue: “Just calling you.”
Meng Zhengyue, holding her phone, smiled. How could she be so cute? She sent an emoji: patting a puppy’s head.jpg
Yun Zhixue: “She was mean to me T^T”
Meng Zhengyue: “You can use emoticons now? So cute.”
Yun Zhixue: “o(`^`)o”
“( ^ω^) ”
“(^3^) ”
After paying, Meng Zhengyue came out of the supermarket and found that Yun Zhixue’s profile picture had changed to that little dog. When she got back to the villa and parked the car, Yun Zhixue ran out of the living room. Her eyes were red, and she looked at her nervously, walking carefully toward her.
Meng Zhengyue was also annoyed. She had only been gone for a while, and Yun Jing wanted to kill her daughter?
She put on a more therapeutic musical. Yun Zhixue sat there watching it seriously. Meng Zhengyue washed some apples for her to eat and also disinfected the things she bought.
On the TV screen, the two protagonists’ mouths just touched and then separated. They hugged, facing the wind, their eyes full of love.
Yun Zhixue was stunned.
The movie was still playing.
Meng Zhengyue came back to look at Yun Zhixue, then at the movie. She had asked a friend for a recommendation. There were no particularly exciting scenes, just a simple theme of a mother’s love. A young mother and daughter went on a trip. At the end, the mother kissed her daughter’s cheek. How could it make the child’s face so red?
Meng Zhengyue turned off the movie, sat on the sofa, and held a latex stick, calling out, “Come here.”
Yun Zhixue saw the product name on it and stubbornly refused to give in. She resisted softly, “I’m already eighteen. I don’t need this thing.”
Meng Zhengyue stared at her, not allowing for any refusal.
Yun Zhixue only held on for a minute. She walked to her side and squatted down. Meng Zhengyue threw a cushion at her. She first sat on her knees. She didn’t like this posture very much. While observing Meng Zhengyue, she changed to a cross-legged position.
“Open your mouth.”
Meng Zhengyue’s voice was soft, but it carried an undeniable authority. Yun Zhixue subconsciously opened her mouth. The next second, a cool teething stick was pressed against her teeth.
She froze, her eyes widening slightly, her face flushing.
She caught a glimpse of Yun Jing coming downstairs. Her mother was coming down…
Meng Zhengyue said, “Are you still eighteen?”
With something in her mouth, her words were slurred. She tried to speak, but the teething stick pressed on her tongue.
This scene eerily overlapped with her dream—Yun Jing stood on the stairs, looking directly at them. The young lover was being intimate with her daughter. Their lips and fingers intertwined. Yun Zhixue’s arms began to tremble, and her whole body was filled with an unbearable ache.
“Bite.”
Meng Zhengyue held her chin, her fingertips slightly pressing, telling her not to get distracted. Yun Zhixue shamefully felt the teething stick. Her tongue touched the foreign object, and she carefully bit it. Her teeth sank into the soft silicone. The strange sensation stirred up a restlessness.
She looked up at Meng Zhengyue.
She was too close.
This wasn’t what she wanted to bite.
Meng Zhengyue’s breath brushed against her nose. Her fingers would occasionally adjust the position of the teething stick, as if she were playing with her lips and tongue. Yun Zhixue’s cheeks were hot, and an ineffable heat surged from deep within her body.
What was even stranger was her mother watching.
Yun Jing’s brows were slightly furrowed. Her eyes moved between Meng Zhengyue’s fingers and her daughter’s flushed earlobes. Her lips were a tight line.
Yun Jing left.
Meng Zhengyue asked, “Where are you going?”
Yun Jing smiled and replied, “To work.”
She added, “Mm, I just got back. I have a lot of things to do.”
Meng Zhengyue held the silicone stick with one hand and moved it to the left side of Yun Zhixue’s mouth. Her lips were wet. There was a sound when she bit down. She then said to her, “Yun Jing, don’t forget the agreement we made when we talked.”
“…Of course, you’re the only one I have right now.”
Meng Zhengyue didn’t want to get involved in the first place. Her request was simple: break up with all the messy relationships. She didn’t want to be a mistress, and she didn’t want any other mistresses coming after her.
Yun Jing felt a moment of guilt and turned away, but quickly turned back for another look. She watched with her own eyes as her lover comforted her eighteen-year-old daughter’s oral fixation. The thumb wiped the corners of her daughter’s wet lips. A sense of weirdness spread. She came back, ready to give her lover a kiss.
