This Director Is Not To Be Trifled With - Chapter 25
Jiang Chen had always been the type to attract bad people, and not just any bad people, but the worst kind. She thought that this time she had truly met the right one, but it turned out to be just another bad woman. Song Xian, the ancestor of all bad women, decided it was time to meet this “sister” properly.
Speaking of the word “sister,” she couldn’t help but remember how Xiao Yutong had asked her to call her “sister” earlier, and how Xiao Yutong had kissed her so passionately. It seemed not all sisters were as good as her own.
Wait, when Xiao Yutong kissed her earlier, she was so excited she wouldn’t have already “merged with the sea,” right? No, she couldn’t just wait for that. The “sister” might be anxiously waiting for her river to flow into the ocean.
Song Xian quietly opened the door and lingered outside Xiao Yutong’s room. She hesitated, unsure whether to knock, her hand on the door handle, pulling it back and then putting it on again, not exerting any force. Before she could decide, the door opened from the inside, and Xiao Yutong, who had been startled, saw Song Xian standing there expressionlessly.
Before Xiao Yutong could ask anything, Song Xian embraced her and whispered in her ear, “Sister, I want you.”
Lying in Song Xian’s embrace, Xiao Yutong listened to the rhythmic sounds of her breathing. The air was thick with an ambiguous scent. She was so tired she didn’t have the energy to change the sheets. She couldn’t help but remember how Song Xian had repeatedly called her “sister” earlier, and it made her feel restless again.
What had happened tonight was childish and absurd. It was hard to imagine that a woman over thirty like herself was playing such games with a younger girl, and even more absurd that she had been the one to take the initiative.
Even if things with Song Xian wouldn’t last, at least for this period of time, she could indulge herself, enjoy herself, and let herself go without restraint.
For the past few years, she had put all her focus on work, so it was about time to fill in the blanks in other areas.
Just as she was lost in thought, the person behind her moved, and she felt a soft sensation on her back, causing her already restless heart to stir.
Subconsciously, she tried to move away, but Song Xian pressed closer again. After a few attempts to move, she realized she had never been this closely intertwined with Song Xian before while lying in bed. She didn’t know that the girl was so clingy when she was asleep.
Xiao Yutong reached out to turn on the bedside lamp and turned to face Song Xian. The light cast a beautiful outline of her perfect profile. Xiao Yutong thought to herself that she must be infatuated with her appearance. After all, who could resist a face like that calling out to them as “sister”?
She started to understand an old saying: “Die under the peony, and even as a ghost, one is still graceful.”
“Turn off the light, turn off the light,” Song Xian mumbled, her eyelids fluttering, discomfort clearly written on her face.
Song Xian didn’t like the lights being on, but Xiao Yutong didn’t ask why. She knew that when Song Xian was ready, she would tell her. If she didn’t, that was fine too.
Xiao Yutong turned off the light and nestled into Song Xian’s embrace, gradually drifting off to sleep.
The next morning, Pei Zixuan woke up on the familiar couch. After using the bathroom, she zombie walked out the door, took the elevator down, and checked her phone. She had a new friend request on WeChat, but she ignored it and opened the pinned chat with the message that had been there for three months. Her eyes grew misty, but she quickly wiped the tears away before they could fall.
In contrast, Song Xian woke up with a smile. She was sitting in the kitchen, chin resting in her hand, watching Xiao Yutong, who was preparing breakfast and lunch with a beaming expression on her face.
Xiao Yutong was wearing a form-fitting skirt, an apron, and looked like a collision between homey comfort and corporate boss chic. She expertly flipped the eggs with one hand.
In Song Xian’s eyes, Xiao Yutong was like a natural filter, and the sight filled her with joy. She walked over and hugged Xiao Yutong from behind, resting her chin on her shoulder.
“Xiao Yutong, why are you so amazing?” Song Xian said, in a playful tone.
“Amazing?” Xiao Yutong asked. “What’s your definition of ‘amazing’?”
Song Xian replied, “I think ‘amazing’ is just… amazing.”
Xiao Yutong took a plate and flipped the eggs onto it. “The kids today are too subjective.”
Song Xian retorted, “Is that a bad thing?”
Xiao Yutong turned around, handed her the plate, and smiled. “Not bad at all.”
Song Xian exclaimed, “Wow, Director Xiao, you’re amazing! Your eggs are as beautiful as you are.”
Xiao Yutong didn’t respond to Song Xian’s usual teasing and simply smiled as she placed the lunch into lunch boxes two of them this time.
Song Xian glanced at her phone screen. She didn’t get a good look at it but didn’t hide her honesty, saying, “Shen Qingjia’s daughter agreed to see me. But Director Xiao, what should I do with her?”
Xiao Yutong replied, “You have more experience in this than I do. Why ask me? Didn’t you say she’s a beauty?”
Song Xian teased, “Director Xiao, are you jealous?”
Xiao Yutong’s tone had a hint of sourness.
Xiao Yutong finished her last bite of egg and said, “In our contract, there’s nothing about jealousy. As long as you don’t break the contract, you can do whatever you want. Though I don’t like this method, you chose it. Remember, Shen Qingjia’s daughter mustn’t be lost as a client. Try to develop a long-term relationship with her.”
Xiao Yutong’s advice was clear Song Xian would have to sacrifice herself to maintain the client relationship. Song Xian grumbled internally: “You’re really calculating, Director Xiao.”
But when she thought about it, she had promised Shen Qingjia herself, so she couldn’t blame anyone else.
As usual, Xiao Yutong dropped Song Xian off a hundred meters from the company. Just as Song Xian got out of the car, she heard a voice behind her. It was Zhang Xin.
“Song Xian.”
At this point, Xiao Yutong’s car had yet to leave, and Song Xian wasn’t sure if she had seen her get out.
“Zhang Xin, why are you here so early today?” Song Xian greeted, feeling a little awkward.
Zhang Xin replied, “Shouldn’t I be asking you that?”
Usually, Song Xian was late, but today Zhang Xin had a special reason her roommate’s younger sister had kept her up all night, so she had decided to leave early.
“Did you see anyone else just now?” Song Xian asked nervously. She wasn’t worried about Zhang Xin, but according to the terms of her contract with Xiao Yutong, no one at the company could know about their relationship. It was only the first day; she couldn’t risk exposing it.
Zhang Xin looked confused. “What ‘someone else’?”
Song Xian immediately realized she had overreacted. She waved her hand dismissively. “Never mind, never mind.”
In fact, Zhang Xin had seen Song Xian getting out of Xiao Yutong’s car and noticed their intimate behavior, but since Song Xian didn’t want her to know, Zhang Xin didn’t mention it. She decided to keep it to herself and quietly ship the couple in her own way.
Last night, Song Xian had agreed to meet “sister” this weekend with Jiang Chen, but since “sister” had to work overtime and only had a two-hour window, they would meet after 9 p.m. on the weekend. When Song Xian heard this, she nearly lost it this person was busier than a CEO of a public company!
She didn’t care about the relationship between that person and Jiang Chen; she immediately began complaining.
Later at the office, a colleague stopped Song Xian and quietly told her that Director Xiao had called her into the office regarding a problem with some wedding photos. Song Xian was told to prepare herself.
Once again, under the sympathetic gazes of her coworkers, Song Xian walked into the office. Meanwhile, Xiao Yutong lowered the blinds.
Song Xian walked up confidently, hands on the desk. “Director Xiao, what do you need?”
Xiao Yutong set down her papers, walked over to Song Xian, and placed a hand on her shoulder. “Nothing much, I just missed you.”
Song Xian felt a chill run down her spine what was Xiao Yutong up to? Why was she being so forward? Was she plotting something?
Song Xian instinctively pulled away and took a step back, saying, “Director Xiao, don’t forget, this is the office. According to our contract…”
Before she could finish, Xiao Yutong suddenly kissed her, catching Song Xian off guard.
“You should call me ‘sister,’” Xiao Yutong purred, her voice full of seductive charm as her fingers trailed down Song Xian’s neck, sending a shiver through her body.
Song Xian was confused, but one thing was clear this person was definitely trying to tease her. Well, she wasn’t one to back down, especially not in this area.
“Sister?” Song Xian teased, as she turned Xiao Yutong around and placed her on the desk. “Director Xiao, this is still work time. Should we really be doing this?”
Xiao Yutong pulled Song Xian closer again, her hands moving back to their previous place. “It’s true, but isn’t chatting during work hours also a bad idea?”
Xiao Yutong had somehow grabbed Song Xian’s phone and was now waving it in front of her face, no longer smiling.
She threw the phone onto the desk, sat back in her chair, crossed her arms, and adopted a serious posture. “Shen Qingjia’s client is important, but we must balance everything, understand?”
Song Xian blinked. What did Xiao Yutong mean? She had just said she wanted to develop a long-term relationship with Shen Qingjia’s daughter, but how did Xiao Yutong know she had been chatting with her?
Song Xian couldn’t help but feel pleased she was pretty sure Xiao Yutong thought she had been texting Shen Qingjia’s daughter.
She walked over to the chair where Xiao Yutong was sitting, turned it around to face her, leaned forward, and whispered in her ear, nibbling on her earlobe.
Xiao Yutong couldn’t handle it and turned her head away. Song Xian released her gently but lingered a moment, admiring how cute Xiao Yutong’s flushed earlobe looked.
Song Xian smirked. “Director Xiao, are you jealous?”
Xiao Yutong snorted. “You think I would be jealous? I’m not jealous.”
“Alright, you can leave now. As long as it’s not during office hours, you can chat with whoever you want,” Xiao Yutong said with a cold voice.
As Song Xian walked out, she peeked her head back in and whispered, “You are jealous, though.”
Xiao Yutong raised her cup, looking like she might throw it, but Song Xian quickly shut the door and ran off.
