This Director Is Not To Be Trifled With - Chapter 30
Song Xian didn’t catch the last sentence that Xiao Yutong said. She let Xiao Yutong lean against her, closing her eyes, listening to the sound of the wind, the flowing water, and Xiao Yutong’s breathing, almost drifting off to sleep.
Used to noisy environments, occasionally experiencing this kind of quiet was quite nice. After drinking, it’s easy to catch a cold while sleeping. Song Xian called a car and was about to wake Xiao Yutong up to go home and rest.
But when she touched Xiao Yutong’s forehead, she found it covered in cold sweat. Her own shoulder was also soaked. Xiao Yutong’s face was pale, and she kept clutching her stomach.
“Xiao Yutong, Xiao Yutong, what’s wrong? Wake up.” Could it be because of the alcohol? She herself used to drink more than this without any problem!
“Xiao Yutong,” Song Xian patted Xiao Yutong’s face, finally regaining some consciousness, “Xiao Yutong, did you skip breakfast this morning?”
Song Xian saw that Xiao Yutong was holding her stomach, which seemed to be her stomach area, but Xiao Yutong always ate three meals normally. Could it be her stomach problem that she was so careful about?
“It hurts so much!” Xiao Yutong frowned, feeling like her stomach was being put through a meat grinder.
Fortunately, the ride-hailing car arrived on time. Song Xian carried Xiao Yutong into the car and changed the destination to a nearby hospital. After the doctor’s diagnosis, it was confirmed to be a stomach problem.
After consulting the doctor, Song Xian found out that Xiao Yutong had a history of stomach bleeding. The surgery had recovered well, and she maintained it well these past years. The main cause of today’s symptoms was drinking alcohol on an empty stomach.
Song Xian felt both heartbroken and guilty. It was her who bought the wine, who asked Xiao Yutong to drink it. Xiao Yutong drank so heavily, and she didn’t stop her. Although it wasn’t very serious, suffering was unavoidable.
Xiao Yutong was still receiving an IV drip, her face recovering some color but still looking weak. Seeing Song Xian come in, she smiled: “Why the long face? I’m not dead yet.”
Song Xian suddenly said sternly: “Xiao Yutong, I don’t allow you to say that word.”
Xiao Yutong was just joking, unaware how heavy the word “death” was for Song Xian.
Xiao Yutong smiled, waved her over, and said with some effort: “Alright, I won’t say it.”
Song Xian sat by the bedside, head lowered, silent. Xiao Yutong immediately saw through her thoughts and comforted her: “It’s okay, I’m fine, smile a little.”
Xiao Yutong reached out and tugged at one side of Song Xian’s face. Usually cheerful Song Xian now gave a forced smile and couldn’t really laugh. Seeing Xiao Yutong trying so hard to comfort her despite her own weakness, Song Xian suddenly got angry. “Xiao Yutong, if your stomach is bad, why did you still drink? You’re not allowed to drink anymore.”
Xiao Yutong originally wanted to comfort Song Xian but didn’t expect her to turn from a weak chicken to a fighting rooster.
Then it was Xiao Yutong’s turn to feel wronged. “But didn’t you make me drink?”
Song Xian raised her voice: “I tell you to drink and you drink? Since when did you become so obedient?”
There was another patient and family in the ward; Song Xian’s loud voice attracted their attention. Xiao Yutong pulled her back and reminded, “Lower your voice, this is a hospital.”
Ignoring others’ stares, Song Xian threw herself into Xiao Yutong’s arms, “Xiao Yutong, do you know how worried I was? Don’t scare me like that again, okay?”
Song Xian was like performing opera, changing expressions quickly. Xiao Yutong could barely keep up with her thoughts. Normally loud and noisy, Song Xian was usually composed when handling things. Xiao Yutong knew she was really anxious and worried this time.
She hugged Song Xian, stroked the fuzzy hair in her arms, feeling a warmth flow through her heart. Xiao Yutong couldn’t remember the last time someone worried about her. She always thought she was strong and independent, didn’t need such things. Looks like she was still just a mortal.
But this action triggered some unpleasant memories. Just now by the riverbank, was she the one crying? Or was she crying in Song Xian’s arms? Song Xian even wiped her tears then, so gentle at that moment.
Wait, is this really the time to feel others’ gentleness? She had just exposed her secrets.
Xiao Yutong looked down at the person in her arms, wishing she could find a hole to crawl into, or just jump into the river.
Unaware of what Xiao Yutong was thinking, Song Xian, like a child, happily nuzzled into her, then stretched her neck and whispered in her ear: “Sister, you’re so soft.”
That sentence wiped away all the little change in Xiao Yutong’s attitude towards Song Xian. Old habits die hard; she was still thinking about taking advantage of her.
Song Xian originally wanted Xiao Yutong to stay in the hospital, but Xiao Yutong refused. After finishing the IV drip and pain relief, they left the hospital. In the next few days, Xiao Yutong had to pay special attention to her diet light and nutritious. Song Xian wanted to send her home first, then go to the supermarket to buy things, but Xiao Yutong insisted on going along. Song Xian couldn’t refuse and let her come.
At 6 p.m., the supermarket was the busiest time of the day. There was a promotion, so the crowd doubled, especially with many older people, pushing and shoving to grab goods. Passing the promotion area, a plump older woman was pushed out and bumped into Xiao Yutong. Song Xian’s hand was protecting Xiao Yutong’s waist and easily pulled her back, but exerted too much force, causing her lower back to hit the shelf. Song Xian bit her lip hard but didn’t make a sound.
Ignoring her pain, she first checked on Xiao Yutong, “Are you okay?”
“I’m fine, just bumped a little.” Actually, the older woman didn’t push that hard; Xiao Yutong just lost balance and fell backward. Luckily, Song Xian caught her, or she would have to go back to the hospital.
After this experience, they didn’t dare stay in that area. Song Xian rubbed her lower back in a hidden spot, quietly hissing.
Xiao Yutong heard it and turned sharply, “What’s wrong? Did you get hit just now?”
“No,” Song Xian denied firmly, “I was just thinking about what to buy.”
Xiao Yutong didn’t suspect, saying, “Don’t worry, I’ll do it. I have experience.”
After her surgery last time, it took a year to recover her stomach. She knew her body well. Actually, today’s illness was not only because she skipped breakfast but also because she drank more often these weeks, plus her lifestyle wasn’t as regular as before. Mainly it was her own fault. Seeing Song Xian blaming herself, she also felt a little sorry after all, she picked up the glass herself, and Song Xian just wanted to comfort her.
Song Xian pushed the cart, and Xiao Yutong selected the goods, a clear division of labor. Occasionally, Xiao Yutong would look back and ask if Song Xian liked this or could eat that.
After buying food, they picked some daily necessities. Song Xian didn’t have much to buy, so she quietly followed, pushing the cart. Xiao Yutong picked many items, some in double quantities. She didn’t say it, but Song Xian knew these were for her. Shopping together like this gave the impression of a newlywed couple.
Song Xian was secretly delighted. Was Xiao Yutong planning a future with her?
Xiao Yutong lingered a long time at the shower gel shelf, seeming hesitant.
“What’s wrong?” Song Xian asked.
Xiao Yutong held two different scents, “Which one should I pick?”
Song Xian pointed at the one on the right, “This one.”
“Green apple?” Xiao Yutong put the other one back. “I used this one before and was thinking whether to try a new scent.”
“No need,” Song Xian leaned over, resting her chin on Xiao Yutong’s shoulder, and inhaled, “I like this scent.”
Seeing Song Xian’s blissful look, Xiao Yutong knew she was thinking naughty thoughts again. She glared hard, put the green apple scent back, and took the other one, walking away.
Song Xian followed, “I like this one too. As long as it’s your scent, I like it all.”
Xiao Yutong acted like she met a pervert and quickened her pace. She ran ahead, and Song Xian chased after her. To others, they really looked like a sweet couple.
Though the supermarket was close to the community, they bought too many things, so they took another car directly downstairs. Getting off, Song Xian handed the lighter bag to Xiao Yutong and carried the two heavy bags herself, running into the building entrance and pressing the elevator button, waiting for Xiao Yutong.
Xiao Yutong wasn’t wearing a dress, but her top was low-cut, and when carrying things, it slid forward a bit, revealing a faint cleavage line. Song Xian, being a bit taller, saw it more clearly.
Outside she was more restrained, but once in the elevator, she openly stared. Xiao Yutong’s figure was stunning, curvy in all the right places. At work, she often wore pencil skirts or fitted long skirts and tight blouses, with a perfect figure that always caught Song Xian’s eye during meetings.
Song Xian never behaved properly. The elevator door was like a mirror, bright and clear. Xiao Yutong kept track of the person standing slightly behind her, glanced down at her own collar, and indeed it was tempting. Having someone stare so openly at her private parts made her cheeks flush.
Young people nowadays were so bold, with no shame in showing their desires.
She turned her head and gave Song Xian a warning look. But Song Xian just shrugged, stopped staring at the cleavage, and looked at her legs instead.
Xiao Yutong’s legs were also amazing. Although covered by loose pants, Song Xian’s vivid imagination pictured how they looked inside.
Xiao Yutong finally couldn’t help but said, “Song Xian, are you a pervert?”
But she forgot who she was talking to Song Xian, whose face was thicker than a city wall.
Song Xian leaned close, “I am.”
Song Xian’s shamelessness was nothing new to Xiao Yutong. She had no choice but to give up resisting.
Luckily, the elevator door opened. The two stepped out and found someone standing by Xiao Yutong’s door.
The hallway light was voice-activated, flickering briefly then going off. Song Xian could only see a silhouette, but Xiao Yutong recognized the person Liu Qianwen.
