Desert Island Girl (Pure Lily) - Chapter 14.1
The sun slowly rose from the horizon the next morning, starting the work of a new day.
Waves crashed on the beach, a slight chill lingered in the air, and the morning mist in the forest had not fully cleared.
From a distance, the mist looked hazy, giving a mysterious feel.
Golden rays of sunlight filtered through dense branches, casting slanted beams onto the forest floor covered with fallen leaves.
Around the beams, faint dust particles floated slowly in the air.
An unknown bird chirped twice on a branch, slightly spread one wing, pecked at the spot where its wing met its chest, then flapped its wings and flew off with a rustling sound to the distance.
“Mm…”
Seemingly awakened by the bird, Mu Xiaoyang felt the faint chill and pulled the blanket tightly around her.
She tiredly turned over, reached out from the blanket, and instinctively groped for the alarm clock beside her.
So annoying… was it time to get up already?
Her hand found nothing.
Her fingers brushed over sand, leaving a shallow trail.
Her eyelashes trembled, and the rough sensation on her fingertips made Mu Xiaoyang open her eyes.
She saw the upper bunk of the double-layer bed.
Turning her head, she saw the sea shimmering with golden ripples.
Oh, right… she had apparently survived a shipwreck.
Her missing memories returned to her mind.
Mu Xiaoyang rubbed her forehead, helplessly lifted the blanket, and sat up, propping herself on her arms.
The scene of the five girls pleasuring each other on the deck yesterday remained vivid in her mind—those two pairs of fair buttocks stuck in the porthole were truly unforgettable.
Even now, her private parts still felt damp, which was quite uncomfortable.
Looking around, she saw the supplies she had gathered surrounding her, which made Mu Xiaoyang feel much more secure.
It was fine; they would survive somehow…
The sun rose high, and the morning mist cleared.
Soon, the other girls woke up, rubbing their sleepy eyes.
After gathering their thoughts, the five sat on their beds and began discussing the next steps.
Without a comb, Yi Yun used her hands to slowly smooth her cascading black hair: “No need to say much—yesterday we wasted an afternoon.
Today, we must turn the food storage upside down and save everything edible.”
Bai Niao, while putting on clothes, agreed.
“Yeah, Sister Yi Yun checked the storage location before, right? We can head there directly later.”
“But… how do we store the food we find?”
Lin Tingting sat cross-legged on the bed, rubbing her tender feet with both hands.
“Meat, vegetables, fruits… these things are hard to preserve without proper conditions.”
Mu Xiaoyang pondered.
“Well, avoiding all waste is impossible. We can prioritize eating items with short shelf lives. For meat… if we can’t eat it, we can dry it into jerky.”
Pausing, Mu Xiaoyang continued: “Food and water are one thing, but we also need to find a proper shelter soon.”
She pointed to some moss-covered rocks nearby.
“Look, those rocks mostly have moss, meaning seawater reaches there during high tide. Where we are now will be underwater when the tide rises. We must quickly find a place to build a shelter.”
Jiang Ning lay on the bed, propping her chin.
“Where do we look? What kind of place?”
“Good question, young miss.”
Mu Xiaoyang smiled at her and raised three fingers.
“A suitable place to live needs three things: open space, a water source, and elevation. The first two are obvious. Elevation is to ensure our shelter won’t be flooded during heavy rain. Now we need to consider whether to build a shelter on the ground, dig a pit underground, or find a high cave. We also need to think about what materials we need for construction…”
“This is just the start—while building the shelter, we need to explore this island, see how big it is, if it has fresh water, fruits, animals, or even wild people…”
“Ugh, that sounds so troublesome!”
Jiang Ning scratched her hair in frustration, looking around at everyone.
“I mean… Can we put the shelter stuff aside for now? Can I use a bottle of mineral water to wash up first?”
She looked at the backpacks Bai Niao had gathered yesterday, her eyes full of hope.
“No way!”
The other four turned to Jiang Ning and said almost in unison.
Joking aside, in this situation, fresh water was more precious than gold! How could they let her use it to wash up?
Seeing her pout pitifully, Mu Xiaoyang said helplessly.
“Bear with it, young miss. Once we’re back in modern society, you can even bathe in milk! For now… just make do with seawater to rinse your mouth and bathe…”
Though they found toothpaste among the scavenged daily items, they didn’t find any new toothbrushes—nobody wanted to use a stranger’s toothbrush.
Worried Jiang Ning might be upset, Mu Xiaoyang quickly added.
“Seawater is pretty good too! Look, don’t people buy sea salt toothpaste or take seawater baths? Those things aren’t as effective as our authentic seawater! I heard seawater has lots of minerals and trace elements that can prevent psoriasis, eczema, heat rash, and other skin issues!”
