Desert Island Girl (Pure Lily) - Chapter 14.2
Jiang Ning wasn’t naive.
Seeing Mu Xiaoyang trying to cheer her up, she hugged her pillow and giggled.
“So… does Xiaoyang have psoriasis and eczema?”
“No way!” Mu Xiaoyang huffed and tossed her pillow at her.
Watching the two playfully bicker, Lin Tingting smiled gently, while Yi Yun stretched lazily and yawned.
Bai Niao tilted her head, looking at the pillow in her hands, blinking as she considered joining the fun by throwing it.
After thinking it over, Bai Niao decided against it—she didn’t want to knock someone out with her pillow.
After the brief commotion, the girls put on their clothes and went to the shore.
Each scooped up a handful of seawater and washed thoroughly—being dirty wasn’t just unhygienic and prone to illness; a filthy environment also affected their mental state.
On a deserted island, besides essential supplies, a stable and positive mindset was crucial.
Honestly, though seawater was salty, it didn’t taste salty when drunk.
It was bitter and astringent. The fishy liquid swirled in their mouths, making the girls frown.
Ugh… this stuff wasn’t even as tasty as Lin Tingting’s nectar.
Next time, they should let Lin Tingting produce more nectar for everyone to try…
Blushing, Bai Niao nodded to herself.
After washing, the five ate some near-expired bread, shared a bottle of water, and dragged their supplies behind the high-tide line before climbing back onto the cruise ship.
Given that Jiang Ning and Yi Yun caused such a mess yesterday, wasting an entire afternoon, Mu Xiaoyang didn’t dare split up the group again—she felt safer keeping an eye on them herself.
With Yi Yun leading the way, they passed through the first-floor lobby and headed straight to the lower levels of the Star of the Blue Sea.
Following the ship’s diagram, the five girls descended the stairs layer by layer.
The deeper they went, the heavier the eerie dampness felt.
“Not good…”
Mu Xiaoyang hugged her arms, rubbing them with a worried look.
“The temperature’s getting colder… the lower levels must be flooded.”
Only cold seawater pooling in the steel structure could create such an eerie atmosphere.
Yi Yun rubbed her forehead helplessly.
“That’s why I said we need to hurry…”
Worried about the supplies getting soaked, they quickly headed to the lower levels.
As expected, when they reached the crew-only corridor, seawater deep enough to cover their feet had already spread across the pale tiled floor.
This wide, long passage ran through the entire ship, designed to help crew members transport supplies efficiently.
Since it wasn’t a guest area, the corridor’s decor was quite plain.
The walls and floor had a smooth design.
Some of the long tube lights on the ceiling still glowed faintly, casting a dim white light.
Stainless steel doors lined up orderly toward the distance, making the corridor reflect a faint, ghostly shimmer, deep and narrow, with an indescribable sense of loneliness.
“How did water get in here? What about the food in the storage?”
Lin Tingting looked around with concern.
Looking farther, Mu Xiaoyang soon spotted the cause—a jagged breach on one side of the corridor, with seawater and sand pouring in.
Since the ship was grounded on the beach, the lower levels were buried in the sand, so the breach was currently blocked, preventing more water from entering.
“The water probably came in when the ship washed ashore. Let’s find the storage first…”
Bending down to remove her shoes and socks, Mu Xiaoyang held the wall and slowly dipped her toes into the water.
Her entire foot stepped into the seawater, and the cold sensation made her gasp lightly.
She turned back and warned.
“Everyone, take off your shoes. Be careful not to slip; it’s pretty smooth here.”
Nodding, Lin Tingting and the others removed their shoes and stepped into the water.
“Hiss—so cold! It’s freezing me to death…”
Jiang Ning, rolling up her pants, stood in the water and hopped around, splashing water everywhere.
“Want me to carry you?” Seeing her shiver, Bai Niao winked at her.
“!”
Jiang Ning froze. In her eyes, Bai Niao seemed to growl menacingly.
“If you don’t behave, I’ll make you taste my backbreaker!”
Recalling the image of this blinking girl kicking a wardrobe and sofa, Jiang Ning quickly waved her hands.
“Thanks! No… I’m fine…”
“Really?” Looking at the nervous, waving Jiang Ning, Bai Niao felt puzzled but didn’t press further.
Behind them, Yi Yun and Lin Tingting exchanged glances, secretly chuckling: the young miss seemed really scared of Bai Niao…
The storage wasn’t hard to find. Going the opposite direction of the pale green “emergency exit” signs, the girls soon reached a door labeled “storage room.”
It looked like a large warehouse with double stainless steel doors.
Grabbing the handles, Bai Niao leaned forward and slowly pushed the doors open.
“Wow—”
As the doors opened, four heads peeked out from behind Bai Niao.
Seeing the sight inside the storage room, they let out gasps of delight.
This was a fruit storage warehouse, about several dozen square meters.
All sorts of colorful cardboard boxes lined the shelves or were neatly stacked in corners, filled with sweet, juicy fruits!
Though some fruits had fallen to the floor, rolling everywhere, and some boxes were soaked in seawater, the girls were certain at least eighty percent of the fruits were still edible!
Bananas, apples, durians, muscat grapes, watermelons, red grapes, strawberries, cherries, blueberries, pears, cantaloupes, pineapples, dragon fruits, mangoes, starfruits…
The variety of fruits was overwhelming!
Besides the dazzling array of fruits, walk-in racks, refrigerators, and freezers were also valuable supplies!
Especially the walk-in racks! With them, even weaker girls like Lin Tingting and Jiang Ning could transport large batches of fruits at once!
My goodness… was this Solomon’s treasure vault?
Looking at the boxes of fruits, the five girls hugged each other excitedly, jumping and cheering with glee!
