Desert Island Girl (Pure Lily) - Chapter 18
“Hmph! I’m not bragging, but my watch could fetch millions at an auction—millions! Got it?” Jiang Ning boasted.
When Mu Xiaoyang and Mu Mu returned to the temporary camp carrying two large white buckets, Jiang Ning sat cross-legged on a bunk bed, waving a steel pipe excitedly.
On the beach near the rainforest, Yi Yun stacked boxes of snacks neatly, responding absently without turning, “Uh-huh… that’s really expensive…”
The weather was scorching—not just hot, but burning, probably thirty or forty degrees!
Worried the food might spoil, Yi Yun tirelessly used bed boards and other items to shield and store the supplies.
“Um… doesn’t Ning worry about wearing such an expensive watch out?” Lin Tingting asked, her big eyes curving into a smile as she also worked to protect the food from the sun.
Jiang Ning waved her hand dismissively.
“Pfft—what’s that supposed to mean? When this Miss goes out, I always have seven or eight bodyguards! Want to mess with me? They’d have to take down a dozen suited thugs first!”
“Haha… really…”
Lin Tingting smiled awkwardly, hearing Jiang Ning’s exaggerated numbers shift from seven or eight to a dozen.
Chatting with Ning was a bit troublesome…
“Hey, looks like you’re having fun,” Mu Xiaoyang said, setting the white bucket aside.
She sighed in relief and wiped her forehead.
“How’s everyone doing? Is everything okay?”
“Everything’s great—Miss is as chatty as ever, talking up a storm…” Yi Yun said, placing the last box of snacks in a standing wardrobe, adjusting her shoulder strap and sighing tiredly.
Her full br3asts jiggled slightly, drawing everyone’s attention.
Recalling how Yi Yun exposed one soft br3ast for her to touch in the warehouse, Mu Xiaoyang blushed and sat on the bed, coughing awkwardly.
“Uh… it’s so hot now, let’s all take a break. Mu Mu and I brought back knives and pots, so we can cook our own meals from now on.”
Mu Mu set down the plastic bucket and said, “No, you all rest first. I’ll go back to the ship to see if I can find anything to build a shelter with.”
“No rush…”
Mu Xiaoyang’s butt hit the bed, and she didn’t want to move.
She flopped backward, her perky br3asts swaying like pudding.
“The sun’s brutal. Let’s rest a bit and go together later…”
Since waking up, Mu Xiaoyang had been working nonstop—she was exhausted.
Mu Mu smiled and gave her a thumbs-up.
“It’s fine. Time’s tight, so I’ll make use of it. Xiaoyang, rest with the others for now.”
Seeing Mu Mu’s insistence, Mu Xiaoyang didn’t argue and nodded, letting her go.
“Let’s see what goodies you found!” Jiang Ning said, rubbing her hands excitedly and opening the bucket’s lid as soon as Mu Mu left.
“Hey! Careful! It’s full of knives!” Mu Xiaoyang quickly propped herself up to warn her.
Though the boning knives and cleavers were placed tip-down, she still worried Jiang Ning might cut herself.
On this island, a tetanus infection could be deadly…
“Wow—this is so cool!”
Jiang Ning ignored Mu Xiaoyang, her eyes sparkling at the gleaming blades. She pulled out a sharp knife, brandishing it.
“Hey! Ha! Bow to this Miss or die!”
Her slender figure bounced around the beach, her energy undimmed by the scorching sun.
Sigh, such vitality… Mu Xiaoyang exchanged wry smiles with Lin Tingting and Yi Yun, then lay back on the bed weakly.
It seemed Jiang Ning, after resting all morning, felt much better.
Now they just needed to build a shelter quickly, or a rain could ruin all their supplies…
Looking at the growing pile of supplies, Mu Xiaoyang felt more at ease.
After waving the knife around, Jiang Ning grew tired and put it back, hopping onto her bed.
She looked at the resting girls and said excitedly, “Hey, have you heard that rumor?”
Yi Yun, arms behind her head, reclined on the bunk bed, her graceful curves alluring.
She opened her eyes, her beautiful gaze lazily glancing at Jiang Ning.
“Oh? What rumor?”
Seeing the other girls look at her curiously, Jiang Ning grinned smugly, crossing her arms mysteriously. “Hmph… don’t get scared, but have you heard of that global assassin organization?”
Rolling her eyes helplessly, Yi Yun turned away and closed her eyes again.
She had briefly hoped Jiang Ning might say something interesting—clearly, she was too naive.
“It’s real! I heard it from my dad!” Jiang Ning said, seeing everyone’s interest fade.
“They say this group carries out assassinations worldwide! If you have enough money and connections, you can hire them to kill anyone! They keep client info totally secret, so there’s no worry about exposure. Rumor has it their top assassin, called ‘Mio,’ never leaves a target alive…”
Seeing Jiang Ning’s secretive expression, Mu Xiaoyang placed her pale arm on her forehead, staring at the bed frame’s grain weakly.
“Sigh… what novel did you read, Miss? I know you’re… innocent, but you believe this? I’m amazed. Are you sure your dad wasn’t teasing you?”
“No way!” Jiang Ning pounded the bed angrily.
“I overheard my dad talking to my mom!”
Lin Tingting lay on her back, her small hands dangling softly off the bed.
“But, Ning, even if it’s true, what do super assassins have to do with us now…?”
“Uh…” Jiang Ning froze, unsure how to respond.
“Sigh, let Mio teleport here and assassinate me so I don’t have to lie around on this island doing nothing…” Mu Xiaoyang said, shaking her head helplessly.
“Xiaoyang! Don’t set a death flag!” Jiang Ning said urgently.
Brushing back her hair, Mu Xiaoyang rolled over lazily.
“What’s the big deal…”
During their chat, the sound of heavy dragging caught their attention.
Looking over, they saw Mu Mu running toward them, pulling a large army-green bundle.
“Mu Mu!? What’s that?”
Mu Xiaoyang, previously listless, scrambled up from the bed.
“Thud!”
Mu Mu dropped the bundle, bigger than herself, kicking up sand.
Usually reserved, she now smiled brightly, patting the bundle and giving a thumbs-up.
“It’s a canvas tent, guys—we’re getting a home!”
“A tent?! Really?”
The surprise came so fast that Mu Xiaoyang could hardly believe her ears. The other girls exchanged thrilled glances.
“Yep, really,” Mu Mu nodded.
“It’s a thick one with waterproof fabric, big enough for over ten people!”
Mu Mu looked excited, pausing before continuing.
“I found these in an inner cabin, probably for workers heading abroad. I brought the fabric for now, but there are steel frames I couldn’t carry. You guys find a good spot for the tent. I’ll grab the frames, and we can start setting it up. If we’re quick, we can sleep in it tonight—no more camping!”
