Destined Hearts of Mu and Yu (GL) - Chapter 25
“Oh.” Qin Mu obediently answered with an “oh,” still holding Wei Hanyu, but still refusing to let go. She only felt sleepiness come all at once, and after a while she entered into dreamland.
It was Wei Hanyu who suffered. Only when she heard Qin Mu’s even breathing did she lightly move away the hand on her waist, slowly turn her body, and let her deep gaze fall upon Qin Mu. Her fingertip lightly touched the center of Qin Mu’s brow. She herself did not know what kind of feelings she held toward Qin Mu. She thought she ought to be indulgent with Wei Yanhan, but if Wei Yanhan ever did something that broke her principles, she would still deal with him coldly. But Qin Mu? Wei Hanyu let out a faint sigh. She did not know what to do with Qin Mu.

When Qin Mu woke up again, she found that Wei Hanyu was no longer at her side. She felt faintly disappointed, but her gaze fell on a strand of long black hair left on the bed. She bent down, carefully picked it up, and lightly sniffed it at her nose. It was filled with Wei Hanyu’s scent. She hugged the quilt tightly, buried her head deep inside, and took a deep breath. It was also Wei Hanyu’s scent. She only felt it was as if she were holding Wei Hanyu herself.
At this moment, Ying’er’s voice came from the doorway.
“Master Qin, it is time to go to the library to be on duty.”
Qin Mu was like a child whose secret was broken, hurriedly jumping up from the bed, quickly changing clothes. When she went out, she saw Ying’er give her a meaningful smile, and Qin Mu’s face turned even redder.
Ying’er had prepared breakfast for her. Seeing Qin Mu’s appearance while eating, somewhat cute, Ying’er could not help but want to tease her, so she said leisurely:
“This morning the princess went out of the palace and specially instructed not to wake you too early.”
Qin Mu had just lifted the cup to drink water. Because of this sentence, she choked on the spot, coughing hard several times. She waved her hands in panic and said:
“I, I and Sister Hanyu, it is not as you think.”
Ying’er covered her lips and giggled nonstop. Qin Mu knew that no matter what she said, she was at a disadvantage, so she stopped speaking, put down the cup, swept up the breakfast like a storm, and after bidding farewell to Ying’er, headed toward the library. Qin Mu walked very quickly, deliberately choosing secluded paths, because last night Wei Hanyu had warned her to avoid the domineering crown prince and the scheming Su Wanying.
When she arrived at the library, Qin Mu pushed the door open and found it unlocked. She clearly remembered that last night when she left, she had locked it. She felt strange in her heart. As soon as she entered, a strange fragrance hit her nose. She instinctively raised her sleeve to cover her nose. From behind the bookshelf, a person slowly walked out. This person was none other than Su Wanying.
Qin Mu covered her nose, eyes wide. But seeing Su Wanying’s eyes brimming with charm as she looked at her, Qin Mu thought—there was no way to hide, this was her duty post. The only thing she could do was ask Su Wanying to leave.
Seeing Su Wanying approach her step by step, Qin Mu also retreated step by step until she could retreat no more, her back crashing against the wall. Su Wanying brushed her sleeve and laughed lightly.
“In your eyes, am I really so frightening?”
“Your Grace, this is the library, not the rear garden. If Your Grace has no intention of borrowing books, then please return.” Qin Mu gave the library doors a creak and pushed them open, politely making a gesture of invitation.
But Su Wanying’s charming eyes glimmered slyly as she said.
“How do you know this palace is not here to borrow books?”
“Then what book does Your Grace wish to borrow? I will fetch it for you.” Qin Mu sidestepped her, heading toward the shelves.
“This palace wishes to borrow The Plum in the Golden Vase and The Spring Palace Illustrations.” Su Wanying twisted her slender waist like a water snake, following behind Qin Mu, her gaze studying Qin Mu intently.
Hearing this, Qin Mu only nodded, turned to the record book, and carefully flipped through it. A waft of seductive fragrance entered her nose again. She saw Su Wanying sitting across from her, chin in hand, eyes playful as she said lightly:
“Has anyone ever told you that when you are serious, you look very cute?”
Qin Mu’s face froze like stone. This was blatant teasing, wasn’t it? Inside, she shouted—Sister Hanyu, Lady Yue, come save me! Though her heart was already in turmoil, outwardly she kept calm. After flipping for a while, she finally found the entries for those two books. She hurried to the shelf, found the two volumes buried in dust in a hidden corner, patted off the dust, and respectfully handed them to Su Wanying.
But Su Wanying pressed her lips, touched her chin, and said:
“These don’t seem to be the ones. This palace remembers the covers were blue.”
“Does Your Grace still recall the contents inside?” Qin Mu frowned, just wanting to get rid of her.
“Open it and let this palace see.” Su Wanying deliberately serious, walked slowly to Qin Mu’s side and said.
Qin Mu took a deep breath, only wanting to finish quickly, and hurriedly opened the book. As soon as she did, the shocking images rushed into her eyes. Her cheeks turned bright red, and she immediately snapped it shut.
Seeing Qin Mu’s shy reaction, Su Wanying waved her sleeve and laughed until her body shook. She took the books from Qin Mu’s hands and, on purpose, flipped through them page by page in front of her, saying with a mock seriousness:
“The content is indeed the same. Perhaps it was too long ago when I saw them, and I forgot the covers.”
Qin Mu’s face was flushed the color of pig liver, unable to fade. The images of men and women in union replayed in her mind like a lantern slide. After Su Wanying left, Qin Mu sat at the desk, gulped down a large cup of water, but the heat still would not go down. Helpless, she opened all the windows of the library for ventilation.
Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, suddenly, in her mind appeared Wei Hanyu with clothes undone, chest half-bared. “What nonsense!” Qin Mu hurriedly opened her eyes, cheeks burning hotter.
This day, Qin Mu only felt that her horizons were broadened. She was completely trapped in the struggle of flesh and desire.
By nightfall, when she returned to Biyue Pavilion and saw Wei Hanyu, Qin Mu’s face turned red all at once. She lowered her head, not daring to look at her.
“Master Qin, the princess specially had the imperial kitchen prepare sweet soup for you. Quickly, have a taste,” Ying’er called out.
Qin Mu immediately sat down. Seeing Wei Hanyu sitting on the rattan chair beside her, holding documents and seriously reviewing them, not noticing her, Qin Mu’s heart nonetheless beat faster. She picked up the sweet soup and drank it all in one go, then could not help but sneak a glance at Wei Hanyu.
She wore thin white robes like cicada wings, revealing her graceful neck and delicate collarbone. A breeze blew, lifting the light garment, and Qin Mu caught sight of an arm as pale as jade. Heat surged from her core. Her nose felt dry.
Drip. Two streams of red liquid ran down her nose.
