Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? (GL) - Chapter 1
Today was a momentous day in Linhai City.
The wedding between Sui Yu, the temperamental only daughter of the Su family, and Shen Jueshu, the only daughter of the Shen family, was taking place. To celebrate, the Su family had even gone as far as booking out every cinema in the city—offering free movie tickets to all citizens.
However, at this grand wedding, the Su family’s bride standing at the altar had already been… replaced on the inside.
Sui Yu slowly opened her eyes, her legs weakening as she took in the scene before her.
Not long ago, she had transmigrated—into a yuri ABO novel she had read before. Even more shockingly, she now inhabited the body of a character with the same name as her own. At this very moment, she was about to marry the novel’s female lead.
If it had been a fluffy, romantic yuri story, Sui Yu might not have been so terrified. But this novel was anything but sweet. It was filled with possessive, toxic behavior from a scummy Alpha, and the heroine’s descent into madness and vengeance after her dark transformation.
After the heroine blackened, the scummy Alpha stood no chance. Considering everything the Alpha had done to her, the outcome was easy to guess.
Sui Yu looked at the woman standing across from her. The white wedding gown made her look even more divine and untouchable. She was already tall and slender, and the dress accentuated her figure perfectly. A veil draped over her face, casting a hazy softness over her features, but even so, it couldn’t hide her beauty in the slightest.
They say women are at their most beautiful on their wedding day—Sui Yu now wholeheartedly agreed, even if she’d never seen Shen Jueshu’s face clearly before this.
Her heart trembled. She reminded herself not to be swayed by beauty. The most important thing now was to distance herself from the heroine. Once the vows were exchanged and the wedding was official, the plot would spiral out of control—and then she’d truly be caught in a nightmare where she couldn’t live or die at will.
This entire wedding had originally been forced by the original Sui Yu, who had pushed the heroine into marriage through manipulation. Having already deeply offended Shen Jueshu, if this wedding wasn’t called off, wouldn’t that just be the catalyst for her blackening?
She leaned in slightly, trying to approach Shen Jueshu.
As she did, she clearly saw the flash of disgust on Shen Jueshu’s face. Her mouth turned bitter—so the heroine already despised this body to the core. That made it even more urgent to salvage this relationship.
Right in front of the guests, Sui Yu leaned toward Shen Jueshu’s ear and whispered,
“There’s still time before the vows. You still have a chance—why don’t you run away? But if you’re not going, I’ll go!”
“I’ll go if you won’t.”
“I’ll go.”
“Go.”
Sui Yu was stunned by the look Shen Jueshu gave her—like she was mentally challenged.
Looking toward the audience, Sui Yu saw all the guests—along with the officiating pastor—frozen in place, staring at her in disbelief, as though they couldn’t believe what they had just heard.
A cold sweat broke out across Sui Yu’s back. She quickly patted herself down and finally discovered a tiny voice amplifier clipped near her collar.
“…”
“Just kidding! Just a joke! Things were getting too tense—I was just trying to lighten the mood,” Sui Yu said with an awkward laugh.
The others, clearly understanding the situation, forced some polite laughter in return. The pastor straightened up and resumed the ceremony as if nothing had happened.
Still blushing from the earlier embarrassment, Sui Yu’s face was slightly red. But when she saw that the vows were about to begin, panic set in again. She tugged at her wedding dress and shot a desperate look at Shen Jueshu.
Yet Shen Jueshu only glanced at her with the same disdainful expression as before, the corner of her lips curled in a faint, mocking smile. She casually pulled the fabric of the dress out of Sui Yu’s hand and lifted her head toward the pastor, who had begun reciting the vows.
Sui Yu: “…”
She was thoroughly confused by the heroine. Wasn’t she supposed to hate this wedding? Wasn’t she being forced into marrying a scummy Alpha? Why wasn’t she taking the opportunity to escape?
Sui Yu glanced down at the crowd—figures of status and influence filled the room. And then it hit her.
She finally realized the weight of her current identity… and Shen Jueshu’s. At their level, marriage wasn’t something to be taken lightly. If they actually ran off in front of all these prominent guests, they’d become a laughingstock across the entire social elite.
Left with no choice, Sui Yu could only calm herself down and follow Shen Jueshu through the rest of the wedding ceremony. But when it came time to say “I do,” her heart sank.
She had been single all her life—never even dated anyone—and now, after transmigrating into a novel, she was suddenly getting married!
Sure, she liked the heroine when reading the story—but that was from a purely fictional, two-dimensional perspective! She had never fantasized about actually being with a character on paper!
But no matter how chaotic her thoughts were, the woman standing next to her—Shen Jueshu—paid her no mind. Once the vows were complete, it was time to move on to the hotel banquet and toast the guests.
Sui Yu felt like a duck being chased from behind, her actions purely reactive. She had no idea how any of this worked. She did whatever people told her to do, changed outfits when prompted, and was dragged to wait outside another dressing room. The whole situation felt completely disorganized.
She gave a bitter laugh and tried to comfort herself—at least she was gaining some experience. When she actually got married in the future, she’d know what she was doing!
The dressing room door opened. Shen Jueshu stepped out gracefully, wearing a black embroidered qipao. Her softly curled chestnut-brown hair was pinned up at the back, revealing her swan-like neck. Her elegant presence was undeniable, but the coldness in her phoenix eyes sent chills down Sui Yu’s spine.
Sui Yu stared blankly. She hadn’t expected Shen Jueshu to look so different out of her wedding gown. In the qipao, she was like a different person—dangerously beautiful, utterly captivating. Seeing her in real life, Sui Yu thought she looked a thousand times more stunning than the novel had ever described.
Just as she came back to her senses and was about to speak, Shen Jueshu’s cold voice reached her ears first.
“If you have something to say, wait until tonight.”
That cool tone instantly shut Sui Yu up.
She had to admit—she was a sucker for a beautiful voice. Upon hearing that elegant, aloof tone, she just wanted to obey.
Quietly, she followed behind Shen Jueshu as they left. At one point, it seemed like Shen Jueshu glanced back at her. Her lips pressed together, her expression complicated—though Sui Yu couldn’t guess what she was thinking.
Once they arrived at the hotel, the mood shifted.
Maybe it was because the original Sui Yu had appeared so ecstatic at marrying Shen Jueshu, but the guests couldn’t resist teasing her during the toasts. One after another, the drinks came, and Sui Yu couldn’t dodge them. She was forced to gulp down drink after drink.
Soon, her head turned to mush. She could barely walk without the help of her bridesmaid. Meanwhile, Shen Jueshu was in much better shape—very few dared to offer her drinks, and those who tried were blocked by her close friend. Out of everyone, Shen Jueshu remained the most sober.
By the end of the night, Sui Yu couldn’t drink another drop. After a full day of wedding ceremonies, she hadn’t eaten much, and the alcohol was hitting her hard.
Her stomach felt like it was on fire.
Seeing her pale face, Shen Jueshu finally seemed to remember that they were now officially married. At the very least, she had to pretend to be a concerned wife in front of others. So, she stepped forward, gently took Sui Yu from the bridesmaid, and offered an apologetic smile to the guests.
“Xiao Yu’s had too much to drink. I’ll take her back to rest. Please enjoy the evening.”
Seeing how Sui Yu could barely stand, the guests—though puzzled—didn’t press further.
“Wasn’t she supposed to be famous for holding her liquor? She didn’t even drink that much,” someone murmured.
“You don’t get it,” another whispered mysteriously. “It’s their wedding night. How could she get blackout drunk and leave that gorgeous Omega wife all alone?”
Realization slowly dawned on a few faces.
Of course, none of that speculation was true. Sui Yu was already so drunk that her vision was double. She blinked hard, trying to make out who was supporting her, but no matter how many times she tried, her sight remained blurry.
In the end, she relied on her nose.
“You’re Shen Jueshu!” Sui Yu declared with absolute certainty.
The novel had mentioned it—Shen Jueshu’s pheromones smelled like snow. And although she was wearing a suppressant patch today, being this close, Sui Yu could still catch that faint chill in her scent.
Reeking of alcohol, Sui Yu stumbled into the room. Shen Jueshu gave her a shove toward the bed, then brushed her clothes like she couldn’t wait to wipe off the smell.
Sui Yu landed with a thud. Her head spun even more, and she felt the urge to throw up. But the last shred of her rational mind held her back. Half-opening her eyes, she looked at Shen Jueshu and suddenly blurted out—
“I want a divorce!”
If she couldn’t escape the wedding… then surely, she could get a divorce, right?
