Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? (GL) - Chapter 14
Sui Yu almost laughed in disbelief—furious at what Shen Jueshu was doing. Did she even understand what she was provoking? Challenging an Alpha with pheromones? Someone born and raised in an ABO society like her should know exactly what that meant!
In a clash like this, if she lost—if her Alpha pheromones were overwhelmed—then a flood of high-concentration Omega scent could easily send her into heat.
What was wrong with this woman? By all logic, Shen Jueshu wasn’t someone who acted without restraint!
“Shen Jueshu, I really have to hand it to you!” Sui Yu growled, sweating from the effort, one hand clutching her throat.
The oppressive, icy pheromones pouring through the air triggered her glands, which began to pulse wildly. Her own Alpha pheromones instinctively surged outward, struggling to counteract the icy pressure around her.
Her knees buckled slightly. She knew she couldn’t stay here much longer. If she did… she had no idea what could happen next.
She bit down on her lip, trying to clear her head. Step by step, she backed out of Shen Jueshu’s room.
Only when the door finally shut behind her did Sui Yu slide down against it, collapsing in a heap. Her chest rose and fell rapidly, heart pounding, but slowly starting to return to a steady rhythm.
No wonder so many people obsessed over top-tier Omegas. Just for that one moment—when she caught a whiff of Shen Jueshu’s pheromones—every instinct in her chest had screamed at her to claim, to possess, to make this person hers and hers alone.
Hearing nothing from the room, Sui Yu steadied herself on the wall and slowly stood up, then trudged to her own bedroom. After that ordeal, she was utterly exhausted. Even the swelling on her face didn’t matter anymore—she couldn’t summon the energy to go downstairs for ice. She dropped straight onto the bed and fell asleep.
The whole villa fell into a rare silence, broken only by the quiet hum of cicadas and the occasional chirp of summer birds outside.
—
When Sui Yu woke up the next morning and looked in the mirror, she inhaled sharply.
Her face had swelled into something resembling a pig’s head. How did it get this bad in just one night?!
She made her way downstairs and saw two people already seated at the breakfast table. Her gaze instantly landed on Shen Jueshu—calm, composed, elegantly eating from her plate like absolutely nothing had happened.
Sui Yu couldn’t help but let out a cold snort.
At the sound, both women at the table looked over. Jiang Siyue jumped up in alarm, rushing to Sui Yu’s side. She looked like she wanted to touch her swollen face but hesitated. “What happened to your face?!”
Sui Yu’s eyes flicked to Shen Jueshu, who had only looked up at her briefly before returning to her meal as if none of it had anything to do with her.
Sui Yu clenched her jaw again.
Just then, the housekeeper came out carrying a tray of breakfast. Seeing Sui Yu’s swollen face, she cried out and hurried over to seat her, then ran back to the kitchen to fetch ice for the swelling—far more concerned than the culprit herself.
Jiang Siyue, putting two and two together, leaned over and whispered, “What did you do to her? How did she hit you that hard?”
“What could I have done?!” Sui Yu nearly snapped.
If she’d actually done something wrong, she’d own up to it. But she hadn’t done anything, and still took two slaps! She had every right to feel wronged.
“…Did you… force her?” Jiang Siyue asked cautiously.
After all, Sui Yu had already forced her into marriage. Was it really that much of a stretch to imagine she might’ve tried something more?
Sui Yu: “…”
Her glare was sharp enough to kill.
“I’m telling you—I’ve got no bite, my hands are weak, and I couldn’t even grind tofu!” she enunciated each word through clenched teeth.
Jiang Siyue stared at her, stunned into silence.
Across the table, Shen Jueshu had clearly heard her remark too. She lifted her eyes and glanced in their direction—but made no comment.
Jiang Siyue reached up and touched her own forehead, then Sui Yu’s, as if checking whether she had gone crazy. Once she confirmed Sui Yu wasn’t speaking nonsense due to fever, she frowned seriously and asked, “Is something wrong with your body? Why do you sound… kind of frigid?”
After all, Alphas were supposed to be the most desire-driven beings. People often assumed Omegas were the more lustful ones, but aside from that cursed heat period, Omegas were typically far less aggressive in their desire. Alphas, on the other hand, didn’t go through heats—because they were in a constant state of it.
Sui Yu looked at Jiang Siyue’s deadly serious expression and felt more than a little aggrieved. Couldn’t she tell how frustrated she was right now?
Just then, the housekeeper came out with an ice pack, carefully wrapped in a towel. “Miss, what happened to you?” she gasped, gently lifting Sui Yu’s chin and pressing the ice to her face. “You won’t be stepping outside for at least a week like this!”
At that, Sui Yu side-eyed Shen Jueshu, just about to sneer—only to meet those calm, unreadable eyes. She froze mid-scoff.
Did Shen Jueshu even remember what happened last night? How could she be this calm?
Seeing that she still hadn’t looked away, Sui Yu forced a stiff smile and muttered coolly, “If word gets out, everyone will know President Shen has a domestic violence problem.”
Her tone was laced with sarcasm, practically begging for a slap.
The housekeeper immediately fell silent.
But Shen Jueshu only lazily lifted her lashes and replied, “Depends on whether President Sui is willing to be publicly humiliated or not.”
Because if the story got out… which was more damaging—an Omega with violent tendencies, or an Alpha getting slapped around by their Omega wife?
Sui Yu choked. She couldn’t out-argue this woman. That only made her angrier. She let out a cold snort and looked away, unwilling to engage further.
This woman didn’t feel the slightest bit guilty!
After finishing breakfast, Shen Jueshu headed upstairs to change. Not long after, she came back down wearing a crisp white suit, her entire aura colder than before—every strand of hair practically screaming Do Not Approach.
Sui Yu found herself muttering internally. This woman’s really insane about work. After downing all that alcohol last night, she’s still going in today like nothing happened? Doesn’t she ever give herself a break?
No wonder she had managed to ruin the original Sui Yu’s entire life in just three short years.
She stood there watching Shen Jueshu leave the house, listening to the hum of the engine as she drove away. Thinking of all those empty bottles she had seen last night, Sui Yu’s expression darkened.
She might not be able to change this world’s overall reality—but since she was now entangled with Shen Jueshu, she couldn’t just stand by and watch.
She turned to Jiang Siyue and said, “I need you to pass on a message. From now on, if anyone wants to invite Shen Jueshu to drink—tell them to invite me too. I’ll drink with them instead.”
She didn’t know whether this decision was right or wrong.
But what she did know was that she didn’t want to see Shen Jueshu drink herself into that state again.
