Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? (GL) - Chapter 15
Sui Yu lowered her gaze. Drinking should be for your own reasons—whether you’re happy or sad—but never because someone else pressured you into it.
She despised this so-called drinking culture. Why did business always have to be discussed at the dinner table with alcohol? Since when did your alcohol tolerance determine your professional worth?
Jiang Siyue, seeing her like this, didn’t press further. Within their small circle, she spread the word. Soon enough, others would help make sure it reached all the right ears.

Meanwhile, driving alone, Shen Jueshu couldn’t help but recall the swollen red marks on Sui Yu’s face. She should’ve been amused—by all accounts, that would’ve made sense. And yet… there was no satisfaction.
When drunk, she’d acted on instinct. But now, sober and clear-headed, she found her emotions toward Sui Yu had started to feel… fragmented.
Her phone rang. Glancing at the screen and seeing it was Li Jiang, she picked up.
“President Shen,” came Li Jiang’s cool, even-toned voice.
“Hm.” Shen Jueshu responded calmly, her eyes still focused on the road ahead.
“I heard you secured that plot in the east side of the city?”
“Yes.”
Li Jiang frowned on the other end. Her tone carried some confusion. “Why were you in such a rush to grab that land? It’s just a wasteland.”
There weren’t even any proper factories nearby, let alone a thriving industry.
“Spare funds are available now. Better to invest in advance than be caught unprepared,” Shen Jueshu replied blandly, not revealing the real reason.
In truth, she knew that in under two years, the government would begin promoting the development of the east side. It would become the fastest-growing region in Linhai. Property prices would skyrocket.
Now was the time to act—when everyone still saw it as worthless. With the lowest possible price, she could secure it and wait for the huge returns to come.
What surprised her was how easily it all went through.
Yes, it was considered undeveloped land—but the size of it still demanded a massive investment. Yet the liquidity in Suihe Group’s accounts had more than covered the purchase.
That was Sui Yu’s doing.
Thanks to her, Suihe had ample cash flow—enough to fund this bold move.
After hanging up, Li Jiang found herself genuinely considering the future of the eastern development zone.
Unlike others, who might doubt Shen Jueshu simply because she was an Omega, Li Jiang knew her too well. Shen Jueshu wasn’t the type to throw millions at a fantasy.
—
Back at the company, a storm was quietly brewing. The executives were still fuming over Shen Jueshu’s “reckless” decision to spend so much on what they saw as a worthless piece of land. Until the east side began its development, she needed to prove her capabilities—to silence them.
She had to ensure that no one dared question her decisions again. Ever.
By the time she finished her morning meetings, it was already noon. Qin Qing came in carrying lunch and placed the dishes down on the table. But instead of leaving, she lingered, hesitant, as though something were on her mind.
After a brief pause, she finally said, “President Shen… President Sui made a public statement. She said from now on, if anyone dares try to pressure you into drinking again—she’ll drink on your behalf.”
Shen Jueshu, who had just been about to pick up her chopsticks, paused mid-motion.
She slowly looked up, meeting Qin Qing’s incredulous expression.
And in that moment, she too felt a flicker of disbelief.
Even if her view of Sui Yu had begun to shift and fracture, this—this kind of action coming from Sui Yu—was still utterly unexpected.
Shen Jueshu was silent for a moment before finally nodding, signaling that she understood.
Qin Qing, seeing her response, quietly left the office. As she walked out, she found herself seriously rethinking Shen Jueshu’s place in Sui Yu’s heart.
After all, based on how Sui Yu used to be—cold, moody, indifferent—it wouldn’t have been surprising if she could stay stone-faced in the presence of a dead body. And yet, her recent actions toward Shen Jueshu had completely shattered that image.
After Qin Qing left, Shen Jueshu sat in a bit of a daze. A flicker of regret passed through her.
Perhaps she really had gone too far last night.
Meanwhile, back at home, Sui Yu and Jiang Siyue were slumped on the living room floor like a pair of unambitious slackers, each holding a game controller. The game’s sound effects echoed throughout the open space.
“You really just plan to lie here and hand the company over to Shen Jueshu?” Jiang Siyue asked after losing again, putting down her controller and kicking at Sui Yu’s leg.
“Mm-hmm.” Sui Yu had also lost. She casually tossed her controller aside and flopped onto her back, staring at the ceiling. “She’s more capable than I am. She’s the best person to run the company.”
Jiang Siyue felt a pang of sadness. “But that company… you worked so hard to get it. You kissed up to the old man for years, and now you’re just handing it over like it’s nothing. Do you even remember what it took to get it—how you knelt in front of him, begging?”
Sui Yu’s expression stiffened. Old man?
There was nothing about an old man in the original book…
But based on Jiang Siyue’s tone, it was likely this “old man” had been an elder in Sui Yu’s family—someone with real power over Suihe Group. Which meant the original Sui Yu must’ve schemed and groveled for years to win his approval.
As far as Sui Yu knew, the original host was now alone—so this elder must have already passed away.
Seeing her fall into silence, Jiang Siyue sighed softly and turned to look at her. “When you were eighteen… why did you suddenly change so much? I never asked before because you didn’t want to talk about it, but the way you’ve changed lately… it’s too different. Can you tell me why?”
Sui Yu furrowed her brow, unsure how to respond. She forced a casual tone and teased, “Eighteen? Changed how?”
She made it sound like a joke, like she didn’t take it seriously.
But Jiang Siyue wasn’t joking. Her face was solemn. “After that, your whole personality became extreme. You started acting like you hated the world. Did the old man say something to you?”
Sui Yu lowered her eyes, her long lashes casting a shadow across her cheeks. To others, it looked like she was refusing to answer—but inside, her thoughts were in chaos.
A sudden shift in personality at eighteen… Could it be that someone else had also taken over this body before her?
“Eighteen’s a long time ago,” she said vaguely.
The original Sui Yu was the same age as her—25 now—which meant seven years had passed.
Seven years was plenty of time to forget, or pretend to forget.
But Jiang Siyue didn’t believe that. “No matter how long ago it was, you should remember. That was the first time you disobeyed the old man. You yelled at him—hysterically. Then you had a terrible fever. And after you woke up… you weren’t the same.”
You became moody, cold. Still kind to me, yes—but it was different. There was no warmth anymore.
The old you… felt human.
But after that night, even when you smiled, I could feel how cold you were. You were stuck in an abyss, forcing out smiles that only made you look more exhausted.
I knew you were in the dark… but I couldn’t pull you out.
