Did Scumbag A Get Divorced Today? (GL) - Chapter 21
Sui Yu followed Qin Qing up to the 25th floor, but instead of heading directly to see the so-called fiancé, she first walked to the door of Shen Jueshu’s office and knocked before entering.
When she stepped inside, Shen Jueshu was still seated behind her desk, her gaze focused intently on the computer screen. Her fingers tapped swiftly across the keyboard, producing a rhythmic and pleasant tapping sound.
Even with Sui Yu entering, Shen Jueshu didn’t so much as glance up. Sui Yu felt a bit deflated. Seriously? How could she be so composed? Her supposed wife’s “fiancé” had just shown up at the company, and this woman was still working like nothing had happened? Sui Yu couldn’t help but think: What a formidable person.
“Uh… I don’t remember ever having a fiancé,” Sui Yu began, feeling the need to clarify. When she first heard the news, her immediate instinct was to come straight here and make sure Shen Jueshu knew she hadn’t done anything disloyal.
“Mm,” Shen Jueshu responded blandly, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.
Sui Yu: “…”
Well, she supposed it didn’t really matter to Shen Jueshu whether she had a fiancé or not. As long as Sui Yu didn’t create some scandal or make a scene, Shen Jueshu would probably move straight to filing for divorce once their one-year honeymoon period was over.
Sui Yu stood there for a while, awkwardly unsure what else to say. Eventually, she turned and left the office, heading toward the reception room to finally meet this so-called fiancé.
Just as she turned away, Shen Jueshu finally looked up. Her gaze flickered briefly toward Sui Yu, but she didn’t say anything or make a move.
Outside the reception room, Sui Yu glanced through the glass door and saw the Omega inside.
He stood around 1.75 meters tall—roughly the same height as her, which made him appear slightly shorter, likely due to his delicate features. His medium-length hair was styled loosely, tied into a small bun at the back in an artistic sort of way. When he noticed her at the door, he turned his head and looked over, a faint glimmer of surprise in his eyes.
Sui Yu took that moment to observe him carefully. His facial features were soft, and the corners of his lips naturally curved in a way that made him look as if he were always smiling. He had the gentle aura of a spring drizzle. But his eyes were what stood out—deep-set and soulful, carrying a certain intensity that made it feel like he was looking straight through you.
But that was just an illusion—at least, that’s what Sui Yu told herself. There was no way this man felt anything deeply for her.
She pushed open the glass door with ease, walked inside, and sat across from him. Curling her lips into a faint, detached smile, she said, “I’d really like to know—why exactly are you here looking for me?”
The man studied her a bit longer, then smiled warmly. Even his voice carried a soft, melodic tone. “I’m just here to see my fiancée.”
Sui Yu scoffed. “Funny, I don’t recall ever having a fiancé.”
The original owner’s diary made no mention of him. The novel never included a character like this either. So where on earth had he come from?
Ever since she transmigrated into this story, the original plot had gone completely off the rails. Even the cast of characters was expanding in unexpected—and frankly, inconvenient—ways.
“Xiao Yu,” the man said with a helpless chuckle, shaking his head, “I can’t believe you’ve forgotten me so thoroughly. My name is Gu Ying. Your mother and my Alpha father made a verbal engagement agreement when we were children. We even met once or twice when we were little.”
Sui Yu had no idea whether he was telling the truth. And honestly, she didn’t care.
Maybe something like that had happened in the past—maybe not. Either way, it had nothing to do with her now.
“You do know I’m already married,” Sui Yu said calmly.
No matter what this man claimed, she knew one thing for certain: the original owner’s obsession with Shen Jueshu had been borderline pathological.
And in all of that? Not a single mention of this man.
Gu Ying gave a bitter smile. “In the end, I was just too late. When you got married, I was overseas holding a solo concert. No one informed me of your marriage.”
Sui Yu leaned back in her seat, relaxed, and replied casually, “Whether anyone told you or not wouldn’t have changed anything. And honestly, I think you might be misremembering. Why would my mother arrange for me to marry a male Omega? She never chose a male Omega herself—why would she assume I’d be into one?”
As she said this, a particular image popped into her mind—Shen Jueshu. The smile on her lips deepened.
“Ask yourself honestly: what qualities do you have that could compete with a female Omega? Are you softer? Do you smell better?”
Sui Yu had never really thought of herself as queer. Sure, most of what she read were yuri (girls’ love) novels, but that didn’t necessarily mean she liked women. Still, she couldn’t deny it—if forced to choose between a man and a woman, she’d pick a woman without hesitation.
Because being with a woman felt… more natural. More comfortable.
Gu Ying looked stunned for a moment, then let out a wry chuckle. “You don’t have to say all that just to wriggle out of this engagement.”
Sui Yu shrugged, indifferent. If this were about something else, maybe she’d help the original owner shoulder the blame—but not when it came to relationships. That was one thing she refused to fake. Even setting aside her current marriage to Shen Jueshu, there was absolutely no way she’d get together with someone like Gu Ying.
Not everyone was Shen Jueshu.
And it was precisely because Sui Yu understood how much Shen Jueshu had suffered, how hard her path had been, that she felt such compassion for her—enough to willingly endure whatever negative emotions came with being by her side.
That kind of place in her heart—only Shen Jueshu could occupy it.
Seeing that she remained utterly unmoved, Gu Ying finally let out a helpless smile. “There’s nothing I can say now that will change your mind, is there?”
“I’m glad you understand. And while we’re being clear, please don’t go around claiming to be my fiancé again. I have one wife—Shen Jueshu. You have nothing to do with me.”
Sui Yu’s smile was faint, but cold.
“I hope this kind of situation doesn’t happen again.”
After everything he’d said today—and after all the stares she’d received when she arrived at the company—it wasn’t hard to guess what people were thinking.
They probably assumed she, Sui Yu, had broken off an engagement to marry someone else. That she was unfaithful. That maybe even Shen Jueshu had been the so-called “other woman.”
Gu Ying was silent for a moment, then asked quietly, “Are you… afraid of your wife?”
Sui Yu: “…And what exactly does that have to do with you? You just need to stay far, far away.”
Gu Ying gazed at her. “You’re becoming more and more heartless.”
Sui Yu glanced at her phone to check the time. Her voice was flat: “I never had any feelings for you to begin with.”
Meanwhile, back in her office, Shen Jueshu had already pulled up the surveillance footage from the reception room. She’d been listening to their entire conversation.
As she heard Sui Yu’s unwavering attitude and complete lack of special regard for that man, the cold sharpness in her eyes began to soften—just a little.
Her fingers tapped lightly on the polished surface of her desk.
Really, it was a bit of a shame.
If Sui Yu had been hiding something, this would’ve been the perfect excuse for Shen Jueshu to kick her out with nothing.
