Disappointing Teleportation Magic ~ Even Though The Movement Distance Is Only 1 Millimeter, I Will Rise Through Ingenuity ~ - Chapter 17.2
We were served sautéed spare ribs.
It was a commoner’s dish, eaten by holding it in your hand and biting into it.
The rich, miso-like seasoning brought out the full flavor of the hearty meat.
We were served a light salt-flavored soup, naan-like bread, stick-shaped vegetables, and finally, a tea with a jasmine-like aroma.
The tea cleared the greasy taste from my mouth, and I had no complaints.
“When we return to the castle, I need to apologize to Ludienne-sama and Rosetta-san…”
“I have already informed them that today’s treatment is canceled due to the shock from the attack, so there is no need to worry.”
“I see, thank you. But I still missed the treatment, so I’ll apologize tomorrow.”
“Understood. Shall we head back now?”
“Yes…”
To be honest, I was a little scared to leave the building, fearing another attack.
“Please don’t worry, Yuto-sama. We have increased the number of guards since yesterday.”
“Really? Then, let’s go back.”
“Yes.”
Following Araseli’s lead, we exited the building into a different back alley than yesterday.
Outside the door, four sturdy men dressed in dark blue clothes were waiting, and they began to walk, surrounding Araseli and me.
“Yuto-sama, in addition to these men, those in dark blue clothing are also guards.”
As we moved to the main street, I noticed dark blue-clad guards keeping watch everywhere.
The street was less crowded than yesterday, which was a holiday, so the guards in dark blue stood out more.
It seemed like they were intentionally making their presence known to deter any potential attackers.
As we walked up the slope from the town to the castle, the number of guards surrounding us increased to eight. We didn’t even need to show our IDs at the castle gate and were able to go straight to the dormitory.
That afternoon, I spent my time reading a travelogue I had bought, with Araseli providing explanations.
After dinner, I went to bed early to prepare for the next day’s treatment.
Araseli asked if I needed her company for the night, but I politely declined.
After all that had happened yesterday and this morning, asking for more would have been too much.
The next morning, as usual, I headed to the infirmary, where I found not only Ludienne-san but also Ekkels-san.
“I heard you were attacked. Are you alright, Yuto?”
“Yes, I’m sorry for causing you concern.”
“No, we should be the ones apologizing. We should have dealt with it without letting you know about the attack.”
“Honestly, I was shocked to be attacked by comrades who were summoned with me, but I’ve moved past it. All of this is the second prince’s faction’s fault, so I’m motivated to put even more effort into the treatment as a form of retaliation.”
“That’s encouraging to hear. But take your time and do good work without rushing.”
“Understood. I’ll do my best to meet your expectations.”
“I’m counting on you, Yuto.”
“Yes, leave it to me.”
After properly apologizing to Ludienne-san and Rosetta-san, I began the day’s treatment.
Despite the two-day break, I was able to proceed calmly with the treatment.
Perhaps having an outlet for my accumulated desires made me more composed during the treatments than before.
Even when performing treatments on the lower abdomen and inguinal area in the future, I felt I could handle it without getting flustered.
After finishing the day’s treatment and returning to my room, I asked Araseli during dinner about what happened to Kawamoto and the others.
