Disappointing Teleportation Magic ~ Even Though The Movement Distance Is Only 1 Millimeter, I Will Rise Through Ingenuity ~ - Chapter 2.2
Since cleaning could only be done after all the kitchen tasks were finished, it often ended up being done when the date changed.
“Listen, even if you slack off, it’s still the same time. If you do it seriously, you won’t have time to sleep.”
“Got it, I’ll finish up casually.”
After dinner, I sat down on a wooden crate near the entrance of the kitchen and closed my eyes.
This seemed to be the waiting area for the miscellaneous workers, where they would call out to you when the kitchen work was done.
Even though I had just finished dinner, the smell wafting from the kitchen was in a completely different league from what we usually eat, making me hungry again.
It seemed to be the busiest time, with constant shouting, but I quickly fell asleep due to the fatigue from the day and the fullness of my stomach.
“Hey, wake up! How long are you gonna sleep, you idiot!”
“Huh? Huh…?”
I suddenly woke up feeling pain in my legs, as a grumpy middle-aged man kicked my leg.
“Seriously, sleeping on the job while everyone else is busy… Clean up this place properly by tomorrow morning!”
“Ye-yes…”
Even though you guys can rest while I’m cleaning, I won’t say it out loud, but I’ll still think it.
After the middle-aged man left, I stepped into the kitchen and understood the meaning of Tariq’s words.
Perhaps it was because it had been used for many years, but the stone walls, floor, and wooden ceiling were all stained with grease and soot.
The only areas that were barely clean were around the sink and where the dishes and cooking utensils were kept.
“Alright, let’s make this place sparkle… Teleport!”
I started with the soot-covered ceiling. Using a ladder and a square box, I set up the box near the ceiling, activated teleportation magic within its range, and the soot fell into the box, restoring the ceiling to its original color.
Next, I tackled the stone walls, and when I activated teleportation magic, the stones regained their original color and shine.
“Wow, the kitchen in the royal castle is incredibly well-built.”
The newly cleaned walls looked like marble, with seams so precise that even a knife couldn’t fit in them.
Whether they were crafted using magic or by skilled hands, the beauty hidden by the dirt and grease was truly a waste.
“Ugh, this grease… it’s so sticky.”
On the other hand, the mixture of soot and grease that fell due to teleportation magic was sticking to the floor like tar.
“But, however! I’ve also put effort into cleaning flat surfaces.”
I took out a thin board I found in the storage room.
I don’t know if it’s made of wood or hardened resin, but it’s about 3 millimeters thick, flexible, and doesn’t seem to tear even when soaked in water.
“Here we go… teleport, teleport, teleport, teleport, teleport!”
I continuously teleported the dirt on flat surfaces, inserted the board into the gaps, and caught the dirt on the board.
“Teleport, teleport, teleport, teleport, teleport, teleport! Wow, it’s super clean!”
With the strange excitement of midnight, I cleaned the kitchen thoroughly, and by the time I finished taking out the trash, the sky was starting to brighten.
“Oh man… I got carried away. I wonder if my body will last today…”
I thought about sleeping for a bit, but it was obvious that if I slept, I wouldn’t be able to wake up, so I took a shower, changed my clothes, and even did the laundry before breakfast.
Rubbing my sleepy eyes, I headed to the staff cafeteria in the castle, where the grim-looking miscellaneous work supervisor approached me.
