Disappointing Teleportation Magic ~ Even Though The Movement Distance Is Only 1 Millimeter, I Will Rise Through Ingenuity ~ - Chapter 35.2
The wyvern appeared to be deflecting Urum’s attacks, but on closer inspection, it was using its left wing to shield the wounded area on its neck. While it seemed it could withstand Urum’s magic on its scales and wings, it likely couldn’t endure attacks on its wounds.
The moment it shielded its wounds with its wing was our chance to get close. Like playing a game of ‘Daruma-san ga Koronda,’ we would close the distance whenever its wings created a blind spot, and freeze when its view cleared.
Seeing our movements, Urum moved to the wyvern’s left side, further diverting its attention from me. Each time the wyvern’s vision was blocked, I closed the distance bit by bit, two or three times.
As a child, playing ‘Daruma-san ga Koronda’ with friends made my heart race, worrying if I’d be caught moving. Today, though, it was a life-or-death game. The wyvern stepped forward, keeping its left wing raised to avoid Urum’s attacks.
I also stepped forward, closing the distance further, then unleashed my full magic power.
“Teleport!”
“Gyoooaaarrr…”
Right after the wyvern screamed, Araseli pulled me back, making me fall backward. The wyvern’s right wing swept overhead, creating a crushing wind pressure.
Urum, who couldn’t escape in time, was knocked away like a ping-pong ball. The physical strength of a wyvern compared to a human was overwhelming.
This wasn’t a small elite force; it was a small annihilation squad. The wyvern, having swung its right wing, slowly turned to face us.
“Lord Yuto, can you stand?”
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
Preparing to move again, I stood with Araseli. The wyvern fixed its eyes on us, then collapsed sideways.
What seemed like an unscathed wyvern was actually only on its right side. The left side was soaked in blood. My teleportation magic had severed its left arm, which was connected to its wing, causing it to fall to the ground. Its abdomen had been slashed vertically, spilling its internal organs.
Its left lung, too, seemed to have been cut along with the ribs, causing it to bubble blood.
“Lord Yuto, don’t let your guard down.”
“Right, it might not be completely dead yet…”
Cautiously closing the distance from the side that lost its wing, the wyvern’s eyes followed me.
“It’s still alive in this state… Teleport!”
Pretending to retreat, I quickly advanced and hit it with the teleportation magic for the third time. After a brief moment, the wyvern’s head separated from its body and rolled away.
I let my guard down, thinking it surely couldn’t survive this, when suddenly Araseli and I were knocked away.
The wyvern that Emelian’s team was supposed to handle came towards us, leaving Saed behind.
We narrowly avoided a direct hit from its wings, but the wind pressure alone sent us rolling to the wall.
Having been knocked onto the stone floor so many times, I could no longer tell where my body hurt the most.
“Lord Yuto, stand up!”
Guided by Araseli, I stood up, only to see the wyvern’s gaping jaws coming at me.
“Damn it, teleport! Guaaah!”
Unable to escape, I prepared to exchange blows and used teleportation magic to cut the wyvern’s head in half. Right after, Radin tackled me, pinning me to the floor of the warehouse.
We escaped the wyvern, but the impact felt like getting hit by a truck.
Radin then carried me through the door Mauro used, returning to the hidden passage. Araseli called out to me as I was set down and sat on the floor.
“Lord Yuto, hold on…”
“I’m somehow okay. Araseli, are you hurt anywhere?”
“I’m fine.”
