Disappointing Teleportation Magic ~ Even Though The Movement Distance Is Only 1 Millimeter, I Will Rise Through Ingenuity ~ - Chapter 35.3
“Good…”
“I’m sorry, but we should celebrate our safety in the hall…”
Radin’s brusque words were cut off. Following his gaze, I saw the wyvern’s head, which had tried to crush us, had broken through the warehouse wall, blocking the path back to the hall.
“No way… we can’t get back?”
“We’ll have to use the passage on the other side.”
“Don’t say it so easily…”
To take the other passage, we’d have to go through the warehouse where the wyvern was again. I didn’t have the courage to step back into that death-filled space.
“But there’s only one wyvern left.”
“Huh, what about that one…?”
“It should be dead.”
Looking closely at Radin’s words, the wyvern that broke through the wall wasn’t moving, and blood was dripping from its snout onto the passage.
It seemed my teleportation magic, cast at the last possible moment, had split the wyvern’s head in two.
“The other one should be handled by Mauro.”
“Then how about we rest here until that’s settled?”
“It might break through the wall.”
“Ugh… do we have to go?”
I wanted to say the wall couldn’t be broken through, but the one who had just done it was right in front of us.
As I tried to stand, pain shot through my body.
“Ugh…”
“Lord Yuto, are you okay?”
“I was fine just a moment ago…”
The tension breaking made the pain return to my body.
Resting longer might make it impossible to move later.
“Should we rest a bit more?”
“No, if we rest any longer, I really might not be able to move.”
“Then let’s seize the opportunity and run through.”
“Got it.”
Forcing myself to stand, I slapped my cheeks with both hands to psych myself up. Nodding to Radin and Araseli, we headed for the door when we heard the wyvern’s roar.
“Graaaawwww…”
The confidence I had just mustered wavered, but Radin, leading the way, signaled us to stop.
“Grooooaaaar…”
The wyvern roared again, but the sound was weaker. Had Mauro dealt a fatal blow?
If we waited a bit longer, we might safely reach the other passage. However, Radin, peeking outside, beckoned us.
If he’s suggesting we finish it off, no thanks.
“It escaped.”
“Oh no… really?”
Stepping out the door, we saw no sign of the other wyvern in the warehouse, now bathed in the light of the rising sun.
