The three wyverns were apparently sleeping together in the center of the dance hall.

The distance from where the wyverns were sleeping to the outer wall of the dance hall was well beyond the range of my wall-piercing attack. During the strategy meeting that started after dinner, most of the gathered people’s gazes were directed at me.

The focus of the meeting was on how to get me safely close to the wyverns. There were three entry points to the dance hall.

The first was a hole the wyverns had made in the outer wall, the second was the connecting corridor, and the third was the entrance to the kitchen. Saed asked me while pointing to a map of the area around the dance hall.

“Yuto, which way would you prefer?”

I appreciated that they prioritized my preference, but to be honest, I was at a loss. While the severing transfer magic was undoubtedly effective against the wyverns, it was almost useless for other attacks or defense.

In other words, I was confident I would easily die without protection.

“I honestly don’t know which is best. Rather, I’d prefer if you and the others could choose a route that’s easiest to protect.”

“I see… In that case, the hole in the outer wall is the easiest to defend.”

“Could you explain why?”

“There’s more space outside. When you attack and then retreat, we can divert the wyverns’ attention with attacks from different directions. In the corridor, you can only run straight, and it’s hard to attack from other angles. On the kitchen side, if the wyverns charge, the building might collapse and bury us.”

“Understood. Please proceed with the plan to enter through the hole in the outer wall.”

With my approach route decided, the next step was the attack procedure. During the day’s strategy meeting, the plan was to provide cover for my retreat by attacking from another direction right after I executed the wall-piercing attack.

“In tomorrow’s operation, we’ll strike first with Yuto and the rest of us, then withdraw immediately. Once we’re all outside the dance hall, a separate unit will launch a simultaneous attack to support our retreat. Does that sound good?”

“How about also attacking from the corridor or the kitchen?”

I wanted to ensure a safe retreat, but attacking from the corridor was rejected as it would draw the wyverns into the main castle. The kitchen side was also dismissed due to the risk of being buried alive by the wyverns’ counterattack.

The meeting ended with the predetermined plan to enter and withdraw from the outside being approved. With no better options, I resolved to go through with it.

“Yuto, this is our plan for now, but there’s time before execution. If the sleeping wyverns move closer to the wall, we might opt for a wall-piercing attack, so be prepared for that.”

“Understood.”

After the meeting, I took a nap until the operation began the next morning. As usual, I slept hugging Araseli in a narrow bed.

Even with my head resting on Araseli’s chest and her arms around me, my body trembled. If I couldn’t use the wall-piercing attack, I would have to approach the wyverns in plain sight.
