Disappointing Teleportation Magic ~ Even Though The Movement Distance Is Only 1 Millimeter, I Will Rise Through Ingenuity ~ - Chapter 45.1
“Ludienne-sama! Ludienne-sama!”
Even as Araseli called out hoarsely, Ludienne did not appear. Radin, still holding me, raised his voice as well.
“Anyone! Is there no healer?”
“There are many injured. Since the battle is over, they all went upstairs as instructed.”
“What…?”
It was unclear if this was a strategy by the second prince’s faction or just bad timing, but it seemed we had missed the healers. The wound on my left hand, still pierced by the knife, continued to bleed profusely.
The knife was deeply embedded, likely reaching my internal organs. It felt as though I wouldn’t survive. If I were to die, could the first prince Alberic still become the next king? Would my classmates, promised release from combat roles, be protected as promised?
As time passed and I lost more bl00d, a dark anxiety filled my chest.
“Anyone, is there someone who can use healing magic?”
“I can! I can use it!”
Responding to Araseli’s call was Umino-san.
“Please, the wound is deep, and there’s a lot of bleeding. We are racing against time.”
After Radin laid me down on the floor of the hall, Umino-san’s face turned pale. I recalled hearing that Umino-san’s healing magic had issues similar to my transfer magic.
“Kirikaze-kun, listen. My magic is weak, so I can only deliver healing about one centimeter from my fingertips. To heal this stab wound, I have to insert my fingers deep into the wound. Is that okay?”
“Please, do it. I can’t die yet.”
“Understood.”
If I died here, the first prince Alberic would lose the person who could remove the curse known as the Dark Scar. If a scoundrel like the second prince Belnort became king, the country’s future would be grim.
I didn’t want to give the person who summoned us from Japan and tried to use us as tools for their succession plans any satisfaction. And most of all, I wanted to spend more time with Araseli.
“Alright, Kirikaze-kun, I’m starting.”
“Please.”
With everything ready for treatment, Umino-san began. The process was rough: pulling out the knife and inserting her fingers into the wound while casting healing magic.
To prevent me from thrashing, Radin and Araseli held me down. Umino-san, disinfecting her right index and middle fingers with strong alcohol, sat beside my wound.
As I bit down on a folded hand towel, the treatment began.
“Ugh…ugh…”
As the knife blade was pulled out, I felt a sharp sensation followed by Umino-san’s fingers entering, causing excruciating pain. I bit down on the towel and clenched my fists to endure.
Umino-san’s fingers moved in and out with a scraping sensation. Though she was healing the deeper parts, the pain from her fingers rubbing the open wound was inevitable.
But Umino-san focused intensely, controlling her healing magic with all her might. It took over five minutes for her to fully withdraw her fingers.
“It’s…done…”
“Kazumi!”
“Stay with us!”
After finishing the surface treatment, Umino-san collapsed, supported by Kikui-san and Hasunuma-san. As for me, though freed from the pain in my side, I was in extreme anemia from bl00d loss.
Hearing the commotion, Alberic approached, unable to hide his concern.
“Yuto, are you okay?”
“Your Highness…sorry, I was careless.”
“Fool, I should be the one apologizing. For now, rest. Araseli, take care of Yuto.”
