Disappointing Teleportation Magic ~ Even Though The Movement Distance Is Only 1 Millimeter, I Will Rise Through Ingenuity ~ - Chapter 57.3
We exchanged glances, locking eyes. I couldn’t read the true intentions of the king, who met my gaze without looking away, nor could I be sure that the promises made would be kept.
Still, for now, I had no choice but to trust in the conscience of the man standing before me.
“I understand. I will go to Fulmelinta.”
“Thank you… I feel terrible for asking yet another unreasonable favor after all you’ve done for us, but I hope you’ll endure this for the sake of ending this needless war as soon as possible.”
“So, when will I depart?”
“The sooner, the better…”
“Then, I’ll discuss it with Araseli and decide.”
“Understood.”
“Now, if you’ll excuse me.”
I stood, bowing before leaving the room, but Prince Alberic stopped me just as I was about to exit.
“Yuto! I’m sorry, I…”
“Your Highness, thank you for everything.”
I cut off Alberic’s excuse with a bow and left without making eye contact. To be honest, I was incredibly angry.
I saved his life by removing the mark that threatened his future as king. I risked my life to slay the wyvern, and yet… to be treated like this was something I never expected.
“Lord Yuto…”
“We’ll talk when I return…”
Seeing Araseli’s face almost made me burst into tears, but I gritted my teeth and headed back to the barracks. The days since I was summoned by Princess Aurelia flashed through my mind like a montage.
How long will this country toy with my life?
Overwhelmed with confusion and anger, my thoughts were in disarray.
Upon returning to the barracks, I ran up the stairs and dashed into my bedroom on the second floor.
“Damn it! Why me! Why does it have to be me! Ugh…”
I collapsed onto the absurdly large bed, shouting as loud as I could. Hot tears of frustration welled up, and sobs escaped my throat.
“Lord Yuto, I will go with you.”
“Araseli… Will you marry me?”
“Me… Are you sure you want me?”
“It has to be you, Araseli. I want you by my side for the rest of my life.”
“Yes, with joy.”
“Araseli…”
“Lord Yuto…”
I sat up on the bed, pulling Araseli into a tight embrace, and kissed her. We collapsed back onto the bed, succumbing to the desires of each other’s bodies.
Just as we had when we first shared a bed, I moved instinctively, releasing the pent-up emotions that had been festering within me.
Unaware that Umino and the others were peeking through the open door, we sought each other out, lost in our own world.
