Divorcee O Finds Me Irresistible - Chapter 25
Xu Qing was not an impulsive person. She maintained a strict daily routine, ate three meals at regular times, brewed a cup of coffee at noon, and went to bed before eleven. Except for rare occasions, she rarely smoked or drank. Her life had always followed a flawless trajectory. From academic exams throughout her childhood to professional certifications, she consistently achieved satisfactory results after thorough preparation. The only misstep in her life was the arranged marriage her family had planned for her.
Strictly speaking, even that couldn’t be blamed on Xu Qing. Ultimately, it was the wishful thinking of the previous generation of the Xu and Fu families.
Apart from that, Xu Qing rarely deviated from her plans.
Even her feelings for the Omega she was living with, she had intended to keep hidden until the time was right to confess.
But it had only been a few days.
Why had Xu Qing blurted it out so hastily, just because of a piece of cake?
This went against Xu Qing’s pursuit of perfection. The confession she had imagined involved fresh roses, a three-tiered cream cake, candles, and fireworks—only then would it have felt acceptable.
This was her first love, an Omega girl with an exceptionally high pheromone compatibility. Just standing beside her, Xu Qing could feel her joy radiating onto her.
Fu Shuang deserved Xu Qing’s utmost respect.
Fu Shuang’s little trick worked on Xu Qing again. She smiled, her eyes curving into crescents, and lowered her chin until it almost touched her shirt collar. Her long brown hair swished wildly as she moved, yet her voice remained soft, barely audible like a mosquito’s buzz, as she murmured a single, half-hidden word: “Mm.”
If Xu Qing hadn’t been listening intently, she would have missed this crucial word entirely.
No wonder she’s making such exaggerated gestures. Is she afraid I’ll misunderstand?
Xu Qing’s thoughts began to wander. As she took the cake from Fu Shuang’s hand, her fingers trembled slightly. Mulling over what to say next, she picked up the plastic fork burdened with its weighty mission and precisely speared a small piece of cake. Her words tumbled out in a jumble: “So, this little cake… are you planning to eat it yourself, or do you want me to feed you?”
Fu Shuang opened her mouth slightly. “Ah.”
Xu Qing fed her the cake, taking the opportunity to glance into her mouth—
Her upper and lower teeth were perfectly aligned, porcelain-white and beautiful. The left canine was slightly sharper, the gums a healthy pale pink, and her tongue was spotless, a clear indication of meticulous oral hygiene.
Kissing her would undoubtedly be a pleasure.
Xu Qing watched Fu Shuang slowly swallow the small cake, a slightly perverse thought bubbling up in her mind.
The Chiffon Cake was baked to a soft, airy perfection, frosted with real animal cream that tasted distinctly different from artificial substitutes. The aroma was even more enticing than the flavor. Xu Qing fed her a second piece. To this Alpha, who had never been in love, watching a cute Omega eat was a kind of enjoyment in itself.
By the third piece, Fu Shuang finally couldn’t take it anymore. She shook her head like a rattle drum, swallowed the sweet, cloying cake, and gasped, “You’re feeding me too fast! I need a break.”
Xu Qing stared in silence.
Yet when she fed freeze-dried treats to her pet Koala at home, the little cat devoured them much faster than this.
And the small cakes were even smaller than a single freeze-dried treat.
Which meant—her girlfriend, Lulu, had a smaller appetite than a cat?
This realization made her hum thoughtfully. While pondering, she sampled another piece of cake, her thoughts drifting to, Should I do extra push-ups tonight to burn off these extra calories?
She also considered: If my girlfriend is a glutton with a tiny appetite, will all the food she can’t finish become my responsibility?
Xu Qing knew several friends who gained weight as soon as they started dating. According to them, the weight gain was due to being forced to eat more during their relationships.
After finishing more than half of the small cake, Xu Qing was now convinced that such a scenario was entirely possible in her own future!
She felt an overwhelming sense of pressure.
With lightning speed, she turned around, tossed the remaining cake into the trash, and pulled out the brand-new helmet she had bought for Fu Shuang.
That morning, Xu Qing hadn’t been properly prepared and had only been able to give Fu Shuang her electric scooter helmet. But this one was different—a brand-new carbon fiber full-face helmet. Xu Qing had ordered it online several days ago and received it just this afternoon. The pink and blue spray paint was both cool and adorable, perfectly capturing the image of an Omega younger sister in Xu Qing’s mind.
“Is this for me?” Fu Shuang hugged the helmet, examining it curiously from all angles. “This must have been really expensive, right?”
It had only cost Xu Qing half a month’s salary.
Xu Qing herself couldn’t bring herself to buy a good helmet for herself, but she hadn’t hesitated for a moment when it came to buying something for Fu Shuang.
“Try it on to see if it fits,” Xu Qing said, flipping up the visor. “Your head seems about the same size as mine, maybe even a little smaller. Let’s see if it’s too big first.”
Fu Shuang obediently slipped the helmet on. The pink and blue color scheme complemented her long brown hair perfectly, making her look like a beautiful mecha warrior. Passersby couldn’t help but turn their heads to stare.
“How does it fit?” Xu Qing asked, her voice slightly muffled through the helmet. Fu Shuang’s own voice sounded muffled as she nodded. “It fits perfectly. It feels lighter than yours.”
Of course it does, Xu Qing thought. I paid a fortune for it.
“No need to change sizes?”
“I don’t think so,” Fu Shuang said, shaking her head under the bulky helmet.
“Come, Princess, please mount your steed,” Xu Qing said, extending her hand with the grace of a knight.
Fu Shuang placed one hand in Xu Qing’s palm and wrapped her other arm around Xu Qing’s waist as she swung her leg over the motorcycle. Fortunately, her wide-legged pants made the movement much easier.
“Perfect,” Xu Qing said affectionately. “Shall we head straight home, or stop by the market first?”
Fu Shuang hesitated. “…Let’s just go home.”
Before the motorcycle even started, Fu Shuang pressed herself against Xu Qing, her soft body clinging tightly to Xu Qing’s back. The warm, fragrant embrace left Xu Qing feeling slightly dazed.
“Thank you for the helmet, Older Sister,” Fu Shuang murmured softly.
“You’re welcome,” Xu Qing replied earnestly. “It’s already unfair to make my girlfriend ride on the back of a motorcycle. In a while, let’s go look at cars and see if there’s one you like.”
Fu Shuang gasped. “Older Sister, are you going to buy me a car?”
“If you don’t have the money, we can get a loan for a commuter car,” Xu Qing said. “Oh, do you even have a driver’s license?”
Fu Shuang couldn’t bring herself to tell Xu Qing that she had practically test-driven every car over a million yuan and had no interest in a loan-financed commuter car worth a few hundred thousand.
Never mind, she thought. This is my brand-new girlfriend, after all.
“I haven’t gotten my license yet, but…” Fu Shuang pressed herself against Xu Qing’s back, wriggling and cooing, “Older Sister, you’re so good to me! I’m so touched!”
Xu Qing visibly felt Fu Shuang’s ample curves against her. She cleared her throat, straightened her posture, and said, “Baby, behave yourself.”
Fu Shuang relished Xu Qing’s flustered state. She boldly ran her hands over Xu Qing’s stomach, feigning mystery as she said, “Older Sister, I’ve always been like this. It’s only since meeting you that I’ve had to restrain myself a little.”
Xu Qing, who was ticklish, flinched at the touch. She slowly turned her head, warning with mock severity, “No… touching me while I’m driving.”
Fu Shuang obediently leaned against Xu Qing’s back, folding her hands over her abdomen, and refrained from further mischief.
As soon as they entered, Koala greeted them enthusiastically at the door.
Fu Shuang scooped him up for a round of affectionate kisses, then sat on the sofa to ask how he had spent his day at home.
Koala meowed, as if scolding them for coming home so late and leaving him alone in the house.
“Alright,” Fu Shuang said, picking up his paw and looking at the living room Koala had trashed. Exhausted, she added, “Even if you’re bored, you shouldn’t make such a mess!”
Xu Qing took a sugar-free drink from the refrigerator, surveyed the scene, and asked, “Is Koala in heat?”
“Huh?” Fu Shuang exclaimed, shocked. “He’s only six months old!”
Xu Qing shrugged, holding her drink.
Suddenly, Fu Shuang cried out. Xu Qing leaned over to see Koala sprawled on his back in a seductive pose, his pink, tentacle-like organ protruding from his gray fur, pulsating grotesquely.
Xu Qing: “……”
Fu Shuang: “……”
“Maybe… it’s… you know, that,” Fu Shuang said, shifting away from Koala, her disgusted expression speaking volumes. “Why is he developing so fast? Just a little while ago, he was still a kitten!”
Xu Qing chuckled, amused and only mildly repulsed. She reached out to stroke Koala’s head, and he rubbed against her palm, purring contentedly. He even flipped over to lick her fingers.
Fu Shuang’s expression of disgust deepened, her face practically screaming, “I’m going to neuter you right now!” She shot to her feet and declared, “I’m cleaning the house. We’re getting him fixed in a few days!”
Xu Qing stood up as well. “Alright,” she said. “I see the gas is back on. I’ll whip up something quick for us to eat. Just make do with it.”
Fu Shuang was mortified by her cat’s shameless behavior. They’d only known Xu Qing for a few days! What right did he have to act so familiar, rubbing all over her like that? It was outrageous!
After cleaning the litter box, Fu Shuang went to wash her hands. She unconsciously touched the back of her neck, which felt swollen. For a moment, her tense nerves relaxed. Just imagining Xu Qing’s relaxed demeanor as she stroked the cat made Fu Shuang’s heart race.
She pulled out her inhibitor and took a deep drag before heading into the bathroom. Leaving the door slightly ajar, she decided to take a shower first.
According to the cycle tracker on her phone, her heat cycle was due to start any day now. The app had even sent her a reminder.
How had she managed during her last heat cycle?
Oh, right. That was two months ago, when her mother had finished her final round of chemotherapy. The doctors had told them to prepare for the end, to take her on trips and fulfill her last wishes.
In her mother’s final days, Fu Shuang’s mother stubbornly refused to reconcile, forcing her to swear she would marry into the Xu Family and freezing her bank accounts. She would only inherit a penny of her mother’s estate upon marrying.
When Fu Shuang asked if there was anywhere she wanted to go, the woman who had devoted her life to worrying about Fu Shuang shook her head, tears welling in her eyes.
Nowhere.
Even if there were, I wouldn’t tell you.
In that state of despair, Fu Shuang had no mental space to consider her heat cycle. Her overwhelming emotional distress prevented her pheromones from taking control, granting her a temporary reprieve.
But this time… Fu Shuang stood under the scalding shower, her hand instinctively drifting to sensitive areas of her body. In her mind, she imagined the pine resin-like, morning mist-clear, breeze-like scent enveloping her completely.
The kitchen was far from the bathroom, but the water heater stood between them. Xu Qing heard the continuous hum of the heater working and wondered why Fu Shuang was showering now. Then, the mint-lemon scent that made her nerves tremble reached her.
The spatula slipped from her hand as Xu Qing bolted from the kitchen, crashing into the sofa. Clutching a cushion, she fought desperately to restrain herself, nearly succumbing to the urge to leap from the balcony.
