Divorcee O Finds Me Irresistible - Chapter 31
After a period of mental struggle, Xu Qing finally decided to get up. She would first help her girlfriend take a bath and change clothes, then grab some food to replenish their energy. They could sleep later; after all, it was Saturday the next day, and they could sleep in peacefully until they woke up naturally.
It’s notoriously difficult to get out of bed after s3x. Fu Shuang was completely limp after their encounter, and Xu Qing had to resort to a combination of coaxing and trickery, ultimately resorting to physically carrying her girlfriend off the bed and “dropping” her into the half-filled bathtub.
The term “dropping” isn’t entirely accurate, but given Fu Shuang’s lack of cooperation—her slender limbs clinging stubbornly to Xu Qing, refusing to let go, and her playfully demanding Xu Qing carry her around for a while longer—Xu Qing, after three laps around the room and still unsatisfied, grew tired of considering her partner’s wishes and simply tossed her into the water.
When Madam Min renovated the house, she followed current trends among young people and had the bathtub installed separately on the master bedroom balcony. Normally, this thing went unused for ages. Xu Qing had only cleaned it recently after hearing her girlfriend mention she enjoyed soaking in baths, never imagining it would come in handy so soon.
While her girlfriend soaked in the bathtub, Xu Qing went to the living room wine cabinet and retrieved a bottle of her prized red wine. She poured a glass for herself, then, in a sacrilegious act, mixed half a glass with Sprite and ice for Fu Shuang, garnished it with a sprig of fresh mint, and placed two slices of supermarket cake on a tray. Finally, the perfectionist Xu Qing felt a flicker of satisfaction as she carried the tray to the bathtub.
Though she had only been gone a short while, Fu Shuang’s face already wore a hint of displeasure. This vanished with Xu Qing’s kiss on her forehead. Noticing the specially prepared drink, Fu Shuang gave Xu Qing a complicated look before taking a tentative sip of the lighter-colored glass. Her expression grew even more puzzled.
“Do you like it?” Xu Qing asked, sitting on the edge of the tub, her eyes fixed on the beautiful Omega.
“Is… this wine?” Fu Shuang frowned, savoring the taste. “It’s actually quite good.”
Though she disliked alcohol, this drink tasted more like fruit juice and had a relaxing effect on her bl00d vessels and mind.
Xu Qing suppressed a laugh. Her sister hadn’t even recognized the Sprite-infused wine and seemed almost comically surprised. She clearly was a sheltered Omega, unfamiliar with bar cocktails. Perhaps their encounter at the bar had been a mere coincidence.
Xu Qing still didn’t know enough about Fu Shuang.
The alleged domestic violence didn’t seem very credible. Apart from the bruises she had seen on their first meeting, the Omega’s body was completely unmarked, without a single scratch or scar. Xu Qing had thoroughly examined her, even memorizing the locations of her moles. If that were the case, why would Fu Shuang lie to her?
“It’s Sprite, with a splash of red wine,” Xu Qing said, holding a wine glass in one hand while reaching into the water with the other, her fingers brushing against Fu Shuang’s silk-smooth, delicate leg.
Fu Shuang wasn’t particularly ticklish and showed no resistance to the touch, even seeming to crave it. When
The bathwater was at a normal temperature, and the alcohol content wasn’t high. Xu Qing touched Fu Shuang’s cheek, and Fu Shuang obediently pressed her face into Xu Qing’s palm.
“It’s a little hot. Please wait a moment,” Xu Qing said, rising with gentlemanly grace. She retrieved half a bottle of medicinal liquid and poured a small capful into the bath.
The liquid’s effects were immediate. Fu Shuang’s listless expression brightened, her drooping brows lifting as she asked hopefully, “Will you join me?”
“Of course,” Xu Qing replied quickly, as if afraid to miss this rare opportunity. She wore only a silk shirt with a plunging neckline. With a quick tug, she slipped it off, revealing a blend of sensuality and effortless elegance. As she reclined in the water, the bathwater slowly rose, threatening to overflow before stopping just short, prompting the word “graceful” to come to mind.
Though Xu Qing was tall, she was slender, making the shared bath just spacious enough. The medicinal bath gradually soothed her nerves, easing her anxiety about whether to attempt a third trial.
It was only the first day since her Omega sister had been marked. Xu Qing needed to observe her condition further before attempting any new experiments, unsure of the potential consequences.
The bite mark on Xu Qing’s neck still throbbed. She glanced at it in the mirror, the crimson scar striking and alarming—yet she found herself rather fond of it.
In a physical sense, it was a unique mark left by her Omega sister.
“Lulu,” Xu Qing whispered tentatively, her gaze shifting from her phone.
Fu Shuang’s eyelids were half-closed, as if she were asleep, despite having been drinking Sprite wine just moments before.
“Lulu?” Xu Qing raised her voice slightly.
Fu Shuang remained motionless. Xu Qing gently stroked her hair, the touch as light as a butterfly’s wing. At that moment, Fu Shuang opened her eyes, a weary smile gracing her lips. “Older Sister.”
Seeing Fu Shuang subconsciously lean against her, Xu Qing’s heart nearly melted.
“I have overtime tomorrow morning,” Fu Shuang murmured, closing her eyes. “Tomorrow… can’t oversleep…”
She drifted off mid-sentence. Xu Qing tidied up the mess, settled her sister on her own bed, and thoughtfully plugged in her phone to charge.
Fu Shuang’s phone wallpaper was a photo of a field of Blue Moon Grass under a pale moon. The figure in the photo was tiny and blurry, obscured by the screen saver’s time and date display. Xu Qing immediately recognized the image, but couldn’t quite place it. Maybe I saw it online before?
The next morning was a complete nightmare for Xu Qing. She had imagined waking up naturally after a night of intimacy with her girlfriend, followed by more tender moments. Ideally, it would be a rainy weekend, allowing them to laze around listening to the rain outside, watch a movie in the living room, or play video games late into the night.
Instead, Fu Shuang’s alarm started blaring at just after five in the morning. At first, it rang every ten minutes, then every three, each time promptly silenced by Fu Shuang only to sound again moments later.
Xu Qing: “……”
Is getting out of bed really this hard?
If it’s this hard, why do we work ourselves to death every day, even overtime?
The person in bed clung to every precious minute of sleep. Xu Qing silenced her phone, got up, and drew back the curtains, letting the gentle morning light coax her girlfriend awake more gently.
Raindrops streaked down the glass window in chaotic lines. The sky outside was darker than she’d imagined, and the trees below danced wildly in the wind. Rainwater on the ground was whipped into swirling waves, and a few stray drops struck the bedroom window, sending faint vibrations through the glass.
The bedroom’s soundproofing was too effective, and she’d forgotten to check the weather forecast. She hadn’t expected such a terrible day.
In this weather, do I really have to rush to work?
The problem was that Xu Qing only had a motorcycle for transportation. There was no way she could take Fu Shuang to work in this downpour.
After the subway accident last time, the operating company had issued a notice advising Omegas to avoid riding the subway unless absolutely necessary. This was essentially a ban on Omegas using the subway, and while it sparked protests from some groups, the protests had no effect.
Xu Qing took Fu Shuang’s phone and left her in the bedroom to continue enjoying her peaceful sleep.
I’ll deal with the consequences.
At 8:30 AM, Fu Shuang remained completely unaware, sleeping more soundly than ever before. After savoring two full hours of extra sleep, she finally stirred and realized—
“My phone…” She instinctively reached for it beside her pillow.
“Here,” Xu Qing said, placing breakfast and Fu Shuang’s phone on the tray. Her expression remained calm, but inwardly she braced herself for Fu Shuang’s inevitable anger.
If Lulu had turned off my alarm, taken my phone, and made me late for work, I’d be furious too, Xu Qing thought.
But she genuinely worried about her girlfriend, who had been working tirelessly without rest for days. If it were about making ends meet, Xu Qing wanted to tell her, You don’t have to work so hard. You have me.
In reality, Fu Shuang hadn’t even noticed the time on her phone. Her eyes first fell on the breakfast Xu Qing had prepared. The aroma of pumpkin porridge awakened her taste buds, the buttered toast was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside, and the freshly brewed coffee banished her last trace of drowsiness. Her hand instinctively reached for the coffee cup, accepting this attentive service as if it were perfectly normal.
“What time is it?” the little princess asked, taking a sip of coffee. Her tone suggested she might next ask for a newspaper to read.
Xu Qing tapped Fu Shuang’s phone, the screen lighting up to display “08:33.” Propping her chin on her hand, Xu Qing smiled sweetly. “Good morning, my princess.”
Fu Shuang raised her arms over Xu Qing’s shoulders, feigning a hug like a clingy child caught between adolescence and adulthood.
“How could I have overslept?” the Clingy One murmured, leaning against Xu Qing. “I promised the Manager I’d work overtime today.”
She didn’t suspect Xu Qing at all, and didn’t seem angry in the slightest.
Xu Qing calmed her racing heart and suggested softly, “Should we call in sick to the Manager?”
“Hmm, let’s eat breakfast first. We’ll worry about that later.” Fu Shuang sat up straight, tapping her finger on the various breakfast dishes with a thoughtful expression, as if struggling to choose. “Older Sister prepared such a lavish breakfast! Which should I eat first?”
“Start with the porridge to warm your stomach,” Xu Qing reminded her.
Fu Shuang scooped up a spoonful of golden pumpkin porridge, blew on it to cool it, and offered it to Xu Qing’s lips.
Xu Qing was stunned by this unexpected tenderness. Her first thought was, Could the mark have changed her personality so drastically, making her this gentle and considerate?
As the warm porridge slid down her throat, another possibility occurred to her.
Sure enough, Fu Shuang’s next words confirmed Xu Qing’s suspicion. While diligently feeding Xu Qing breakfast, she said with a mischievous smile, “Older Sister thinks I don’t know, but I’m fully aware you turned off my alarm. Now I’ll miss work again today. Shouldn’t Older Sister compensate me for my lost wages?”
Xu Qing nearly choked on her food.
Just last week, when she’d been in a car accident and suffered a concussion, this same girl had mercilessly demanded compensation for her missed work.
Xu Qing suspected Fu Shuang had some misunderstanding about her earning capacity. If I told her I only make six thousand a month, would she break up with me immediately?
She seriously doubted the possibility. Although Xu Qing had decent looks, if her Omega sister saw her as a penniless pauper, her charm would plummet, and their relationship would likely end.
Fu Shuang, ever observant, noticed the hesitant micro-expression on Xu Qing’s face. She set down her spoon and “thoughtfully” patted Xu Qing’s back, explaining with a cheerful smile, “Older Sister, since I’m already late today, I might as well stay home and keep you company. We could watch a movie, cook together, go for a walk in the park, visit the amusement park, or even celebrate my birthday—whatever you want, dear Older Sister. My missed work compensation… for my entire 24 hours today? Isn’t that a great deal?”
Dazzled by Fu Shuang’s beauty, Xu Qing readily agreed.
She was beginning to understand how those fans who showered streamers with money and topped the leaderboards felt. Spending a little money to gain affection from the other side of the screen yielded emotional value far beyond its monetary worth. She’d heard that some grateful streamers even ordered takeout, milk tea, or flowers for their top two supporters—small gestures that made the fans ecstatic and eager to brag about.
Compared to them, Xu Qing was far luckier.
