Divorcee O Finds Me Irresistible - Chapter 5
The wailing sirens outside sent the brawling thugs scattering like startled birds. Xu Qing jolted awake, remembering her special professional status—a criminal record would be disastrous!
Fueled by adrenaline, she sprang to her feet, grabbed the Omega’s hand, and bolted.
“The back exit!” the beautiful Omega suggested immediately, her composure starkly contrasting with the panicked thugs. She knew the bar’s back routes well.
“Freeze! Police!”
Several thugs fleeing through the main entrance ran straight into the barrels of police guns. But Xu Qing had already darted backstage, dragging the fragile Omega along in a frantic sprint.
In the main hall, Boss Zhou stalled the police with a torrent of complaints, lamenting their late arrival and the extensive damage the thugs had inflicted on his establishment.
The man in the suit exchanged a brief glance with the police before leaving the bar, his face twisted with frustration, as if he had lost his prey.
Once they were out on the street, Xu Qing dragged the Omega another eight hundred meters before realizing the girl was gasping for breath, utterly exhausted.
How could an Omega’s stamina possibly match an Alpha’s? Xu Qing had been careless. She immediately released the girl’s hand, looking at her apologetically as the girl stood panting, drenched in sweat. “Wait here for a moment,” she said.
Across the street was a convenience store. Xu Qing lowered her head and crossed the road, bought two bottles of water, paid, and then looked up at the spot where the girl had been standing.
She was still there, waiting for her.
Xu Qing’s eyes brightened slightly. She jogged back across the street, twisted open the bottle in front of the girl, and handed it to her.
The girl hesitated, her rabbit-like eyes reddening again. Before she could speak, tears began to stream down her face. In a muffled voice, she said, “Thank you, Sister.”
Her voice was soft, but every word was clear.
Xu Qing secretly took a deep breath, avoiding the girl’s gaze. Her lips twitched as she pretended to be nonchalant, saying, “What are you thanking me for?”
When the girl’s hand accidentally brushed Xu Qing’s as she took the bottle, something seemed to recoil sharply within Xu Qing’s heart. Her hand trembled, causing some water to spill from the bottle.
The girl took a tiny sip, choked slightly, and coughed twice, tears welling up in her eyes again.
Xu Qing felt a pang of sympathy. “What’s your name?” she asked gently. “I’ll take you home.”
Hearing the words “I’ll take you home,” the girl flinched, her eyes filled with confusion and fear. She looked helplessly at Xu Qing, parted her lips, and whispered, “Please don’t take me home… I’m scared…”
Xu Qing felt as if the girl’s gaze was about to steal her soul. Struggling to maintain her composure, she glanced at her watch and said calmly, “It’s late. If you don’t go home, where will you go?”
“I… I didn’t earn any money today. If I go home, my stepfather will beat me to death,” the girl said, biting her lip as tears streamed down her face. “Please don’t take me back… I’m begging you…”
Xu Qing cursed inwardly, her face etched with worry. “If you can’t go home, do you have anywhere else to go? Any reliable friends?”
“No,” the girl said, lowering her head. “I have nowhere to go.”
Xu Qing touched the keys in her pocket, nearly blurting out something impulsive.
Though she was drunk, her mind remained clear.
Normally, she wouldn’t even dare bring a cat or dog home, let alone a living person.
Was it appropriate to simply bring home an Omega as beautiful and adorable as a doll?
Had she considered the consequences?
Although her engagement had been called off, the matter wasn’t entirely resolved. Madam Min was still pressuring her to reconcile with her former fiancée. How could she act so irrationally at such a critical moment?
Xu Qing’s mind raced with a thousand thoughts, many times she wanted to speak but stopped herself, frozen in place, unsure what to do. Finally, she heard a strange sound.
Xu Qing glanced at the girl, who was blushing crimson and covering her face with her hands.
Xu Qing: “…Are you hungry?”
The girl, still hiding her face, murmured, “Yes.”
Even the rumble of her stomach was louder than her voice. Mortified, she turned away again.
Xu Qing: “Pfft, ha ha ha!”
The girl protested softly, “Don’t laugh.”
Xu Qing: “Okay, okay.”
Her voice was as gentle as an angel’s, and when she smiled, a sweet little fang peeked out. Fu Shuang secretly peeked through her fingers at the Alpha woman, estimating her age and status while mentally refining her pitiful backstory.
If Xu Qing hadn’t stood up for her today, Fu Shuang didn’t know what kind of humiliation she would have suffered from the rabid dogs in the audience, not to mention the predatory gaze of Boss Zhou…
Fu Shuang hurriedly glanced back, fearing someone might chase her out the bar’s back door.
Seeing her anxious gesture, Xu Qing immediately reassured her, “Don’t be afraid. Let’s get something to eat first. What do you want?”
The girl shook her head, dazed.
Xu Qing smiled. “How about ramen? Noodles will make you feel better.”
Like a docile animal, the girl nodded obediently.
“Wait here for me, about two or three minutes,” Xu Qing said, and after receiving her consent, she jogged back toward the bar.
Fu Shuang waited under the streetlight for a while. A man on a bicycle passed by, sizing her up with malicious intent. She glared fiercely at him until he looked away.
She pretended to make a phone call, while keeping an eye on passersby. Only when she was sure the man had left did she relax.
It was already 11:50 PM. Being alone on the streets at this hour was far too dangerous.
With a roar, a green motorcycle pulled up beside her.
Fu Shuang squinted at the rider, who removed their helmet to reveal a refined face. “I’ve had a few drinks, so I’m not riding too fast,” the rider said. “Let’s find a place nearby to grab a bite first, then we’ll figure out where to take you next. Can you get on?”
The rider had said “about two or three minutes,” but it had been even faster than Fu Shuang expected.
Even running to the bar would take several minutes, right?
Fu Shuang stared blankly for a moment before remembering her character’s persona. “I… I’ve never ridden a motorcycle before,” she stammered, trying to sound nervous. “I’ll try my best…”
She approached the back seat, unsure whether to put her left or right foot up first. Xu Qing dismounted, wrapped an arm around Fu Shuang’s waist, and helped her onto the back seat, handing her the only helmet.
“I’ll ride very, very slowly—slower than an electric scooter,” Xu Qing reassured her gently. “Don’t be scared. Wear the helmet, and you’ll be fine.”
Fu Shuang held the sleek white helmet, feeling a strange sense of familiarity. Maybe most motorcyclists choose this style?
She obediently lowered her head into the helmet, her body stiffening as if jolted by electricity.
“What’s wrong?” Xu Qing asked, noticing Fu Shuang’s odd behavior. She frowned. “Is there a smell?”
Fu Shuang remained silent.
Xu Qing awkwardly touched her nose. She realized she’d been wearing her helmet every day for her commute and hadn’t washed it in half a month. Of course it would smell! She couldn’t smell it herself, but Fu Shuang was an Omega—a sensitive, vulnerable Omega!
She stood there awkwardly, hesitating whether to suggest Fu Shuang take the helmet off. Suddenly, the Omega girl leaned weakly against her, murmuring, “Sister, your pheromones smell so good.”
Xu Qing froze.
A surge of intense emotion flooded her nerves. She bit her tongue hard, forcing herself to maintain control. Afraid to look down at the Omega slumped against her shoulder, Xu Qing felt her bl00d rushing to her head, her breath catching in her throat.
Sister.
Your pheromones smell so good.
Fvck.
Let Sister smell yours.
Xu Qing swallowed hard, lowering her voice. “Do you have your suppressants with you?”
Beneath the helmet, the girl lifted her tear-blurred eyes to meet Xu Qing’s gaze. Her wet lashes drooped as she replied weakly, “Yes.”
“I’ll help you with that,” Xu Qing said.
The girl’s handbag rested on her lap, covering her denim skirt, but the side revealed a glimpse of her shapely thigh.
Xu Qing had forgotten how she’d helped the girl into the car earlier. If she’d noticed the skirt’s length, she definitely wouldn’t have done it this way.
She retrieved the inhibitor from the girl’s bag and sprayed a dose into her mouth and nose.
“Feeling better?” Xu Qing asked, holding the inhibitor bottle, her fingers trembling slightly.
The girl slowly opened her eyes and murmured, “Mm-hmm. Thank you, Sis.”
Xu Qing smiled, returned the inhibitor to the girl’s bag, and then took off her own shirt, spreading it over the girl’s legs.
“So you don’t accidentally show too much,” Xu Qing said awkwardly.
With her shirt off, Xu Qing was left wearing only a tank top, her lean, toned figure unapologetically displayed.
Turning her back, Xu Qing gripped the handlebars, swung her long leg over the seat, and effortlessly mounted the motorcycle.
“If you’re worried about falling, you can hold onto the side rails,” Xu Qing said, glancing back
