“What’s your name, beautiful? My name is Yu Le. Everyone respects me and elected me as the leader,” Yu Le chatted animatedly next to Ling Qiuyu, wiggling his eyebrows.

Ling Qiuyu smiled politely, “Ling Qiuyu.”

“Ling Qiuyu… that’s a beautiful name. I haven’t had much schooling, so I’m quite direct when I talk, please don’t mind it, but I was wondering if you have a boyfriend?” Yu Le was very confident. Just then, a few shouts came from the distance.

“Zombies!”

“Quickly get into a state of alert!”

Yu Le’s face lit up. This was a perfect opportunity to prove his strength to Ling Qiuyu. He was confident Ling Qiuyu would be smitten with him.

A large horde of zombies was approaching from the distance.

An Yimu climbed onto a tall building and saw that the zombie at the very front was the Spider-Zombified Zombie she had seen that day! She immediately realized things were bad.

In the two days since, the Spider-Zombified Zombie had undergone subtle changes. The topmost two of its eight spider legs were noticeably sharper and longer, and the tips had turned black. Had this zombie evolved again?

An Yimu wanted to retreat while they were still far away, but Yu Le wouldn’t listen. He was already a Second-Tier Awakener. What zombie could be his match? But unexpectedly, zombies were approaching from behind as well.

They had been cornered! The horde had surrounded them. The leader of this group of zombies looked similar to an Initial Zombie, but a long tailbone with a small hook at the tip grew from its tail, and its arms were extremely long with two-inch claws.

Escape was no longer an option.

Qin Yongsheng and Gu Linlin knew An Yimu’s strength. A woman with no power couldn’t possibly survive in this apocalypse while bringing along two other women. So, the two of them followed An Yimu, and they were also startled when they saw the zombies encircling them from behind.

It looked like another fierce battle.

An Yimu let out a battle cry and charged toward the Crab-Zombified Zombie. The rest immediately plunged into the Initial Zombie horde from the side.

The Crab-Zombified Zombie watched An Yimu steadily. Its long tailbone suddenly swung forward, the hook at the tip gleaming. An Yimu dodged it mid-air. She suspected the hook might be poisoned, so she couldn’t get close. How could she fight it then?

At that moment, Nuan Qianyu’s side ran into trouble. There was a Second-Tier Hardened Zombie within the Initial Zombie horde!

An Yimu’s heart grew anxious. She gripped her dagger and moved closer to the zombie. There had to be an opportunity!

The zombie didn’t swing its tailbone this time. Its long arms stretched out, and the sharp claws sliced through the air with a whistling sound. “Roar…”

An Yimu seized the moment. As the zombie’s arm swung aside, she leaped in, positioning herself right between its two arms. She deftly slashed the zombie’s arm with her knife. Although this zombie was powerful, it had a flaw: its arms were too long and clumsy.

The zombie roared in anger, and its tailbone swung out again. An Yimu sidestepped the attack, grabbed the tailbone, and slashed with the knife in her right hand, slicing off the hook at the tip of the tailbone. Simultaneously, she was flung out by the zombie’s tailbone, landing heavily on the ground.

The zombie was furious. Its two arms violently slammed down.

The zombie was infuriated by being played with. It roared a few times, and the surrounding Initial Zombies gathered around.

The Crab-Zombified Zombie shuddered and collapsed. A stream of milky-white energy flowed from An Yimu’s right palm into her brain. An Yimu took a sharp breath, pressed her hand against her bleeding shoulder, gritted her teeth, and ran toward the Hardened Zombie.

The Hardened Zombie’s entire body was as hard as steel. Nuan Qianyu and Qin Yongsheng couldn’t do anything to it. They could only stall it to prevent it from getting close and constantly watch out for Initial Zombies popping up from behind. They were reaching their limit.

Qin Yongsheng’s machete landed on the zombie’s back, but the zombie roared, grabbed the machete, and threw the man and the knife together.

The Hardened Zombie’s strength was terrifying. Nuan Qianyu hadn’t dealt with this zombie before. She had only heard An Yimu say its body was hard as steel, but she hadn’t realized how powerful it was.

Just then, An Yimu arrived.

She swung her knife at the zombie’s neck but failed to inflict any damage on the zombie.

An Yimu muttered to herself: This zombie must be Third-Tier.

The zombie seemed completely oblivious to pain. Relying on its full-body hardening, it wasn’t afraid of An Yimu at all. It abandoned the spitting-bl00d Qin Yongsheng and lunged at An Yimu.
