Dressed as the Scumbag Alpha Mom of the Tragic Female Lead (ABO, GL) - Chapter 1
Chapter 1
It was another year of new student admissions, and B University’s campus was bustling with activity. Freshmen, escorted by their parents, arrived at the registration point and were guided by senior students to settle into their dorms.
Due to the rarity of Alphas and Omegas, students of these two genders were assigned two to an apartment, while Betas shared a dorm room with six people.
Gu Lingjun was led by a fellow female Omega senior, Zhao Zi, to the apartment building. However, the driver helping with her luggage wasn’t allowed to enter.
“It’s okay, Uncle Wu, I’ll manage on my own.”
“How can that be? Master and Madam said I must ensure you’re settled properly. They’re already worried about you not living in the family’s house. I need to take photos of the dorm environment for Master to see.”
Zhao Zi could tell Gu Lingjun came from a wealthy background, but rules were rules. This building housed only female Omegas, and unrelated individuals couldn’t just enter casually.
“Uncle, it really isn’t allowed. Our school has regulations: only female Betas from the university can enter the Omega dorm building besides Omegas. This is for the students’ safety, so please understand.”
The driver glanced at the five-story, vintage building and then at the large luggage in his hands, saying with concern, “The dorm doesn’t have an elevator. How can our young lady carry such a big suitcase?”
Nowadays, only some newly built high-rises had elevators. An old building like B University’s dorms naturally wouldn’t have one. For a frail Omega like Gu Lingjun to lug a massive suitcase up five floors seemed daunting no matter how you looked at it.
“Don’t worry about that. The student union has arranged senior students to help Omegas with luggage. They’re probably busy right now, so wait a bit, and I’ll go inside to find someone.”
The senior seemed responsible. Seeing the conversation reach this point, the driver didn’t press further and nodded. “Then I’ll trouble you.”
Zhao Zi waved her hand, saying, “No trouble, no trouble,” and took a few steps toward the dorm. Just then, she spotted a female Beta coming out. Overjoyed, Zhao Zi grabbed her hand without thinking. “Hey, perfect timing! Help my junior with her luggage.”
The volunteers were arranged by the university student union, but Zhao Zi, part of the department student union, didn’t know this volunteer. Still, the woman was tall, lacked the scent of Alpha pheromones, and was exiting the Omega apartment building at this time—she had to be a volunteer helping with luggage, no doubt.
“Wait—” Caught off guard by the hand-grabbing, the woman immediately shook it off, frowning. “Don’t touch me.”
As an Omega, Zhao Zi was used to being fawned over. Being rejected so abruptly left her stunned, and she began to scrutinize the woman.
This female Beta was taller than most Betas, at least 175 cm. Her skin was a cold, sunless white, with a high nose bridge and thin lips, boasting striking features. Yet her eyes were hidden under bangs and nerdy glasses, making her gaze unreadable. Coupled with her plain attire, Zhao Zi had initially overlooked her attractive appearance.
But now, an odd feeling stirred in Zhao Zi. This person seemed somehow different from typical Betas.
Seeing Zhao Zi staring, the woman didn’t linger. She moved to walk past, but Zhao Zi snapped back to reality and called out, “Wait, aren’t you a volunteer from the student union? My junior needs help. Can you lend a hand?”
Though annoyed, Zhao Zi kept her tone gentle as always. The female Beta paused, saying in a low voice, “I’m not a volunteer. I just came to fix the dorm manager’s computer.”
Her voice was calmer now, carrying an indescribable coolness and magnetism—distant yet inexplicably captivating, like a hook tugging at the heart.
Zhao Zi, intrigued, stepped closer with a bright smile. “Not a volunteer? No problem! I’m Zhao Zi from the Life Sciences Department. Help out, and I’ll thank you later.”
Jiang Chuxie looked at the pretty female Omega smiling sweetly at her and couldn’t help rolling her eyes behind her glasses.
She’d used suppressants to minimize her pheromone scent, tried to downplay her appearance, and avoided eye contact as much as possible. So why was an Omega still noticing her?
She never should’ve agreed to help the dorm manager fix that computer.
“Sorry, I have things to do.”
Jiang Chuxie didn’t care about anything else—she just wanted to leave this Omega-filled place as quickly as possible. But Zhao Zi wouldn’t give up. She followed her out of the dorm, whining playfully, “It’s not urgent, right? My junior’s been waiting forever. Just help her out.”
They reached the entrance, but Jiang Chuxie remained unmoved. Zhao Zi called out to Gu Lingjun, “Junior, junior! I found someone to help with your luggage.”
Jiang Chuxie sighed inwardly. She didn’t want to broadcast her Alpha identity, but if push came to shove, it was the strongest excuse to avoid contact.
“I told you, you’ve got the wrong person. I’m not—”
Her voice rose slightly, still cold and calm, but her words stopped short when she saw the Omega staring at her in surprise.
She was an extraordinarily beautiful Omega, with skin like fine porcelain, glossy black hair like a raven’s feathers, and delicate features like a doll’s. While most Omegas were attractive, this one was the most stunning Jiang Chuxie had ever seen.
Petite, she wore an expensive, pale chiffon dress, standing in the early autumn sunlight like a shy, delicate lily.
As her heart stirred at the sight of this oil-painting-like beauty, an unprecedented sense of danger surged toward her.
Despite her Alpha allure that could charm countless Omegas, Jiang Chuxie, as a transmigrator, had never felt drawn to any Omega. In fact, she avoided them like the plague, terrified of accidentally triggering some plotline.
That’s right—Jiang Chuxie wasn’t a “native” of this ABO world. She had transmigrated into this body at fourteen, during its gender differentiation, and it had been six years since.
Even after six years, she still struggled with some of this world’s concepts, especially regarding gender.
She wasn’t unfamiliar with ABO novels—rather, it was because she’d read one out of curiosity that she ended up here. But she still found her female Alpha identity surreal.
Yes, she had transmigrated into an ABO adult novel she’d recently read, and what scared her more than being in such a dangerous world was her current identity.
The novel, titled Too Early for That, had a name that hardly hinted at its R-18 content, but it certainly lived up to its mature rating. The protagonist, Jiang Weizao, was a textbook tragic, frail, saintly, and pure Omega with a terrifying ability to attract Alphas from miles away.
Though the Omega’s characterization wasn’t exactly feminist, Jiang Weizao, as the protagonist, had queen-bee-like qualities. She could be repeatedly marked by multiple Alphas without their marks fading, and the scumbag Alphas who tormented her early on all ended up hopelessly devoted to her—a common trope in adult novels.
Under normal circumstances, transmigrating into a novel would at least land you as the protagonist, right? Not that Jiang Chuxie wanted to be the protagonist—it was just the usual pattern.
But no—she had become… the scumbag Alpha mother of the protagonist, and she’d arrived nearly thirty years before the main storyline!
Adult novels rarely fleshed out background details, so when Jiang Chuxie first arrived, she knew almost nothing about this world beyond the ABO framework.
Her identity, however, was crystal clear. As the vilest scumbag in the story, the ultimate villain, and a despicable character designed to make the scumbag male leads seem less awful by comparison, the novel spared no detail in describing the protagonist’s father, Jiang Chuxie.
A phoenix-like female Alpha, Jiang Chuxie came from a poor rural family. In high school, she met the Gu family’s eldest daughter, the protagonist’s mother, Gu Lingjun, and deliberately won her heart.
Gu Lingjun wasn’t described much in the novel, as she was killed by this scumbag Alpha and her mistress when the protagonist was young. From the protagonist’s memories, though, Gu Lingjun was a kind, virtuous, and somewhat weak Omega, like most Omegas in this world.
What a clichéd, classic setup. When reading, Jiang Chuxie had only been distracted for a second because the scumbag Alpha shared her name, then paid no further attention to the parents.
As for the scumbag Alpha Jiang Chuxie’s fate? It was as miserable as it gets. Six domineering Alpha CEOs avenged the protagonist, and if she wasn’t torn into six pieces, it wouldn’t have done their efforts justice.
Knowing her situation, how could Jiang Chuxie be happy?
She didn’t want to be a scumbag, nor did she want to end up dismembered. Driven by survival, she began trying to change her fate.
But on one hand, she faced a poor family and difficult parents; on the other, her inconvenient Alpha physique and alien worldview; and on top of that, some unseen force seemed determined to “correct” her attempts to change her destiny, throwing all sorts of plot flags her way. The past six years had been bitterer than gall.
Still, things were gradually improving. After entering university and leaving her hometown, everything was already different from the novel’s timeline!
