Dressed as the Scumbag Alpha Mom of the Tragic Female Lead (ABO, GL) - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Gu Lingjun hadn’t stood there long when a private car pulled up in front of her. The window rolled down, revealing a man in his forties, a Beta, in the driver’s seat—the same driver who had taken her to school that day.
“Uncle Wu…”
“Miss, let me take you back to the apartment,” Uncle Wu said, looking at her with concern. “Madam and Master are very worried. They’re already on their way to B City and should arrive tonight.”
Gu Lingjun’s face showed guilt as she got into the back seat, apologizing, “I’m sorry, Uncle Wu, for making you worry.”
“No need for that, Miss. The most important thing is that you’re okay.”
Gu Lingjun sighed quietly.
She was fine, but the troubles ahead were plenty. The only small comfort was that this incident might become a turning point in her life—she had an inexplicable feeling about it.
“Uncle Wu, can I ask you for a favor?”
“Is it something we shouldn’t tell Madam and Master about?”
Gu Lingjun blushed, softly saying, “Uncle Wu.”
Uncle Wu chuckled lightly. “Miss, whatever you wish, I’ll do it. As long as it’s not a big deal like today, I won’t tell Madam. But Master did instruct me that if you’re thinking about dating, I need to report it to them first.”
As Jiang Chuxie had thought, it was unthinkable for an Omega heiress like her to attend a public university so far from home. So the Gu family arranged an off-campus residence for her, complete with a driver and a nanny.
But Gu Lingjun had insisted on living in the dorms to avoid standing out.
“It’s not like that. I just… I just want to find out about Miss Jiang’s identity. She helped me but doesn’t want my thanks…”
“Miss Jiang? The Beta from earlier?”
“The one from earlier, but… she’s an Alpha.”
Uncle Wu looked surprised, then nodded. “Indeed, she’s taller than most female Betas… Is it enough to just find out her identity?”
“No, no, don’t hire a private investigator to dig into her life. I just want to know what she studies and how I can find her later…” Gu Lingjun’s cheeks reddened. “She helped me; we can’t treat her like that.”
Uncle Wu glanced at her through the rearview mirror, smiling. “Got it. I’ll look into it myself. By the way, I’ll check if this Miss Jiang is single.”
Uncle Wu had watched Gu Lingjun grow up, driving her to and from school since she was a child, so she was very close to him, treating him like family.
“Uncle Wu, I said that’s not what I mean.”
Did she really not mean it?
Gu Lingjun wasn’t entirely sure.
From their first meeting, she’d been intrigued by Jiang Chuxie, but she didn’t want to simply label it as love at first sight.
Jiang Chuxie was special, but Gu Lingjun didn’t know if that specialness was just for her or for everyone. Thinking of Zhao Zi’s reaction that day, Gu Lingjun faintly sensed something unusual.
There might be a secret about Jiang Chuxie even more extraordinary than she imagined. She didn’t know what she’d gain by exploring this mystery, but she knew she’d regret it if she did nothing.
“Alright, alright, I know you just want to repay her, Miss. If she won’t accept thanks, I can make it subtle. I’m sure Master and Madam would also want to give her a generous gift.”
Seeing her blush, Uncle Wu stopped teasing but took note of Jiang Chuxie. After her differentiation, Miss’s personality had changed. The once cheerful, playful, and curious girl had become quiet, obedient, and even timid—especially around Alphas.
This was the first time since her differentiation that she cared so much about an almost-stranger Alpha. He didn’t believe it was just about repayment.
This matter absolutely needed to be reported to Madam.
Before returning to school, Jiang Chuxie stopped by the coffee shop to see Liu Wen. Today’s incident wasn’t huge but wasn’t small either. To avoid unnecessary trouble, Jiang Chuxie took the opportunity to resign.
Partly, she didn’t want to cause trouble for the shop. Partly, she was afraid Gu Lingjun would find her. And partly, she was preparing to focus on software development, which would likely keep her increasingly busy.
“Alright, I understand,” Liu Wen said. A glamorous female Omega, she’d independently started and ran a sizable café, exuding a strength unlike traditional Omegas. “It’s a pity, but I knew this day would come eventually. I just didn’t expect it so soon.”
“I didn’t expect to cause such a scene before leaving either. Sorry for the trouble, Sister Liu.”
Liu Wen rolled her eyes playfully. “What are you talking about? If you hadn’t caught it, an Omega would’ve been hurt. If I’d been there, I’d have beaten that trash Alpha myself.”
Liu Wen had nearly fallen victim to similar dirty tactics before, so she deeply empathized. Perhaps recalling her own experience, she sighed softly, looking at Jiang Chuxie with a hint of worry. “Xiao Jiang, your sense of justice makes me both proud and a bit concerned.”
From her behavior, Jiang Chuxie seemed aloof and distant. But Liu Wen knew she was upright to an extreme degree.
As an Alpha, Jiang Chuxie lacked the typical Alpha aura and didn’t share their usual mindset.
Liu Wen knew Jiang Chuxie’s act of saving that Omega today wasn’t a one-off. Just as she’d helped Liu Wen before, Jiang Chuxie had aided many other Omegas facing harassment, which was why Liu Wen was willing to supply her with suppressants.
Hearing her words, Jiang Chuxie just pursed her lips and smiled faintly. “It’s fine, Sister Liu. At least for now, you don’t need to worry about me.”
This wasn’t entirely to comfort Liu Wen but a conclusion drawn from years of experience. Though she didn’t have a heroine’s halo, perhaps because the heroine hadn’t been born yet and her mother couldn’t die, Jiang Chuxie always narrowly escaped life-threatening dangers.
Unable to restrain herself, she’d saved many Omegas and, naturally, caused plenty of trouble. The most dangerous time was when she accidentally crossed a powerful town mayor.
She’d genuinely thought she’d be silenced for good, but unexpectedly, the mayor’s superior suddenly fell from power, and the mayor was arrested for corruption, leaving her unscathed.
Perhaps because of this, her only hesitation when saving people later was avoiding romantic entanglements.
