Dressed as the Scumbag Alpha Mom of the Tragic Female Lead (ABO, GL) - Chapter 30
Chapter 30
Jiang Chuxie avoided getting close to others because she felt uncomfortable, disliked it, and found it troublesome. But keeping Gu Lingjun at a distance wasn’t just about avoiding trouble—it was about protecting her from harm caused by Jiang Chuxie herself.
Gu Lingjun was the only person, besides the female protagonist, whom Jiang Chuxie knew had been deeply hurt by the original Jiang Chuxie. Since realizing she’d become that despicable scumbag Alpha, she’d occasionally dreamed of unknowingly following the plot and turning into that shameless, vile Alpha mom.
Don’t talk about having a new soul, as if that meant she could bring Gu Lingjun happiness. She had no such confidence or intention. Instead of changing the plot on its original track, she thought forging a new path to avoid it was easier.
Besides, being alone was undoubtedly simpler for her. She wouldn’t have to grapple with her identity, adapt to this Alpha body, or form deep connections with others in this world.
“Let’s go back down.”
Jiang Chuxie didn’t want to discuss it further. Gu Lingjun nodded, her expression dim. Though it was far from midnight, Cinderella’s dream was already fading.
The auditorium was still brightly lit and bustling, with music starting again. Many swapped partners and glided back onto the dance floor.
Alphas and Omegas generally had higher looks than Betas, tied to their glands and pheromones. The hall was filled with attractive Alphas and Omegas, a pleasing sight.
Even in such a crowd, Jiang Chuxie and Gu Lingjun stood out like cranes among chickens, though the mood between them was somewhat heavy.
As the welcome party hit its peak, people began approaching them to chat.
Gu Lingjun, the new beauty of the Biology Institute, was well-known. If not for Jiang Chuxie dealing with that earlier troublemaker, others would’ve swarmed her already.
Jiang Chuxie had also drawn attention since entering, and her clash with the male Alpha was seen by many. That Alpha had fled to avoid further embarrassment.
Their return coincided with partner-swapping time, and people seized the chance, flocking to them.
Jiang Chuxie and Gu Lingjun turned away wave after wave, but the enthusiasm didn’t wane. Luckily, just as Jiang Chuxie was fed up and ready to storm out, Zhuang Qi arrived with Zhao Zi to rescue them.
“I’ll dance with Junior Gu, and you dance with Zhao Zi. No problem, right?” Zhuang Qi grinned at Gu Lingjun. “Will you do me the honor, Junior?”
Given the situation, without this, who knew how many more would pester them. Gu Lingjun glanced at Jiang Chuxie, then nodded.
“It’s my honor to dance with Senior Zhuang.”
Seeing Jiang Chuxie hesitate, Zhao Zi laughed. “We’re old acquaintances. Do it for Zhuang Qi’s sake—I won’t bite.”
Jiang Chuxie’s lips tightened. “I’m not great at dancing…”
“No worries, it’s not a competition. Plenty here can’t dance either. Just move a bit, I’ll lead.”
Jiang Chuxie considered it. She’d already come to the party with Gu Lingjun—being too standoffish now would seem pretentious. Zhao Zi seemed safe, and with her and Zhuang Qi around, it was better than wandering aimlessly.
“Fine.”
The four swapped partners. Zhuang Qi invited Gu Lingjun to the dance floor with an exaggerated knightly flourish. Jiang Chuxie’s temple twitched, and she looked away.
“Shall we?” Zhao Zi took her hand, chuckling. “Let’s see just how bad you are.”
Jiang Chuxie gave up resisting and blended into the crowd.
“Not bad, just a bit unpolished.”
“Gu Lingjun taught me earlier.”
The slow four-step was simple, and even beginner Jiang Chuxie could dance smoothly.
Zhao Zi smiled lightly. “Lingjun’s so attentive to you. Don’t you have any thoughts about that?”
“No.”
“Ugh, so clueless. I heard a lot about you from Zhuang Qi. You’re pretty intriguing.”
Zhao Zi reminded Jiang Chuxie of Liu Wen—both outgoing, talkative, bold, and a bit assertive. But Liu Wen was more straightforward, while Zhao Zi always seemed to have hidden motives.
Jiang Chuxie frowned. “Why are you digging into my business? We don’t have any ties, do we?”
“Curiosity’s human nature. You’re so mysterious, and Lingjun thinks you’re special. It’s only natural I’d be interested.”
Jiang Chuxie didn’t find that natural at all. “I just don’t want to be bothered or bother others.”
“Then your actions are contradictory. From what I know, what you’ve done draws a lot of attention.”
Jiang Chuxie was silent for a moment. “Think what you want.”
“Alright, don’t get mad. Let’s drop it.” Seeing her displeasure, Zhao Zi switched topics. “I just heard from the student council president why tonight’s checks were so strict.”
Jiang Chuxie followed up. “Why?”
“Apparently, the council got a threatening letter saying someone would cause trouble and ruin the party.”
Jiang Chuxie’s face darkened. “Why would someone want to ruin the welcome party?”
“It’s kind of a tradition. The party’s for student council members and key club officers, mostly Alphas and Omegas—a small clique’s self-indulgence. We don’t see an issue, but for those desperate to join and shut out, the students’ arrogance is infuriating.”
Jiang Chuxie gave a mocking smile. “At least the arrogance part is undeniable.”
Zhao Zi grinned knowingly. “From each side’s perspective, there’s no arguing that. But resorting to dirty tactics out of resentment just makes them worse.”
“How do they plan to ruin it?”
“No idea. Either they didn’t specify, or the president wouldn’t say. It’s probably just a prank to scare the president into canceling.”
“But it’s a threat. Holding the event without warning everyone—what if something happens?”
“Didn’t peg you for the cautious type. I doubt it’s a big deal. Security’s tightened everywhere—troublemakers can’t get in.”
That was such a privileged mindset, not even considering internal council discontent as a possibility.
Jiang Chuxie couldn’t be bothered to comment. It wasn’t her problem anyway.
They chatted casually while dancing. When the song ended, Jiang Chuxie promptly let go of Zhao Zi.
“That’s enough, right?”
Zhao Zi laughed, exasperated. “Yeah, yeah, like I forced you to let me take advantage.”
“I didn’t say that. I’m just not used to physical contact.”
“Exactly like Zhuang Qi said. Shame, you’re my type.”
Jiang Chuxie didn’t mind such straightforward girls but couldn’t handle it, so she stayed silent.
They stood for a bit until Zhuang Qi returned—alone, without Gu Lingjun.
“Where’s Lingjun?”
“She said she’s going to the restroom.” Zhuang Qi, a social butterfly, thrived in this setting and looked thrilled. “How was it, Chuxie? You danced pretty well. The party’s fun, right?”
Jiang Chuxie didn’t comment. If fun meant anything, dancing on the rooftop earlier… was quite memorable.
Recalling the moonlit scene and Gu Lingjun’s question, she felt a pang of regret.
“The party’s halfway done. Looks like the president was right—the threat was probably just to scare us,” Zhuang Qi said, as she and Zhao Zi discussed the letter again.
“Whether they meant to cause trouble or just threaten, it’s vile! If it happens, it won’t just affect us—it’ll shame all of B University,” Zhuang Qi said indignantly.
Zhao Zi was shocked. “You know the letter’s contents? What do they want? To set a fire?”
“Worse than fire. The president didn’t tell you probably to avoid worry.” Zhuang Qi glanced around, whispering to Jiang Chuxie and Zhao Zi, “They said they’d spike the food with aphrodisiacs, turning the party into an orgy, disgracing the student council and B University.”
Zhao Zi looked shocked and disgusted. Jiang Chuxie’s expression darkened too.
“But don’t worry. The council’s strictest on food—it’s all been checked, no issues. Plus, whether they can even get aphrodisiacs, their mechanism doesn’t work orally. The letter writer lacks basic knowledge, so the president just upped security.”
Aphrodisiacs, or forced estrus inducers, trigger an Omega’s heat immediately. They’re broken down if ingested and only work via injection.
The white powder Zhao Gang used last time was a sedative. If someone used an aphrodisiac here, it’d be catastrophic. An Omega in heat releases pheromones that heavily affect Alphas, and those with weaker self-control might turn feral on the spot.
“But we’re in charge of food. The president should’ve told us sooner… Hey, Chuxie, where are you going?” Zhuang Qi was venting about the president when she saw Jiang Chuxie suddenly rush off, looking urgent.
“To the restroom.”
The more Jiang Chuxie heard, the worse it felt!
She knew aphrodisiacs couldn’t be added to food, but that didn’t mean the threat was empty.
If the letter came from someone in the council, strict security was useless.
These two didn’t get it. Compared to Betas uninvolved, those who tried their hardest yet faced discrimination due to gender harbored deeper resentment.
Given a chance to inject an Omega with an aphrodisiac, the party would spiral out of control. And now, Gu Lingjun was alone in the restroom—a perfect opportunity!
With their knack for trouble, if this bad luck hit Gu Lingjun, Jiang Chuxie wouldn’t be surprised at all!
She had to find Gu Lingjun before the letter writer did!
In a world of six genders, finding the right restroom was among the most troublesome tasks. There’s no national standard—most places divide by the three secondary genders, some strictly by all six, and a few crudely split between Omega and others.
B University’s restrooms were divided by Alpha, Beta, and Omega, the most common setup.
Jiang Chuxie sprinted toward the restroom, praying she’d make it in time. The auditorium was at its liveliest, and the restroom area was nearly deserted. She only passed one or two people leaving.
She tried to note their faces, her bad feeling growing stronger.
“Gu Lingjun! Gu Lingjun!”
As an Alpha, she couldn’t just barge into the Omega restroom. Before reaching the door, she started urgently calling Gu Lingjun’s name.
“Gu Lingjun!”
Sweaty from running and anxiety, her only thought was to find Gu Lingjun fast.
“Senior!”
Perhaps her prayers worked, or maybe she was just worrying needlessly from the start. Just as Jiang Chuxie was still a short distance from the door, Gu Lingjun hurriedly ran out of the restroom.
Though her face showed anxiety, she seemed perfectly normal. Jiang Chuxie didn’t detect any signs of uncontrolled pheromones.
“Are you okay? Nothing unusual happened, right?”
Still uneasy, Jiang Chuxie anxiously scanned Gu Lingjun’s body, trying to confirm she was unharmed.
“Senior, it’s Yu Wen—” Gu Lingjun looked even more anxious than her, grabbing her hand urgently. “He’s in heat!”
“What?”
Jiang Chuxie reflexively asked, but quickly grasped Gu Lingjun’s meaning. So, the target wasn’t Gu Lingjun—it was Yu Wen.
“I found Yu Wen in a stall. He’s in heat.”
The moment she processed this, Jiang Chuxie’s nose caught a cloyingly sweet scent. It was Yu Wen’s pheromone, but far stronger than usual, laced with a provocative, musky sweetness that could easily stir desire.
Her body instinctively reacted, but having faced this before, her mind stayed clear. She knew things could spiral into the worst possible direction if this continued.
“You go find Zhao Zi and the others, explain the situation, and get Betas and Omegas to handle it. I brought suppressants—I’ll stabilize Yu Wen first.”
Gu Lingjun froze. An Alpha handling an Omega in heat—God knows what could happen. No, everyone knew what could happen!
But Jiang Chuxie’s expression was so resolute, her words so firm, that Gu Lingjun hesitated only a moment before nodding. “Okay, I’ll be right back. Senior… be careful.”
Jiang Chuxie didn’t respond, just rushed into the restroom with a grave expression. Though deeply uneasy, Gu Lingjun knew that compared to the calm and composed Jiang Chuxie, she might be less equipped to handle this.
She hurriedly dashed to the auditorium, quickly found Zhao Zi and Zhuang Qi, and explained the situation as concisely as possible.
“How could you let an Alpha stay alone with an Omega in heat!” Zhao Zi’s face darkened, a rare occurrence, as she grabbed Gu Lingjun and ran toward the restroom. “Zhuang Qi, go tell the president to send people over fast.”
“I trust Senior Jiang…”
“Naive. No matter how unique she seems, she’s still an Alpha. Facing an Omega in heat, do you think they’re still thinking with their brains?”
The fact that Jiang Chuxie sent Gu Lingjun to get help while staying to deal with an Omega in heat already made Zhao Zi suspicious. An Alpha was an Alpha—maybe Jiang Chuxie was already acting on instinct the moment she smelled the pheromones.
Zhao Zi only hoped they could stop her in time, or this welcome party would become a stain on everyone.
Following the scent, Jiang Chuxie found Yu Wen in a stall. The male Omega’s face was flushed, his eyes dazed, slumped on the floor. His hands weakly tugged at his clothes, and he let out unconscious, suggestive moans.
Along with this highly stimulating scene came an overwhelming wave of sweet, arousing scent and the feverish heat of estrus, hotter than the surrounding air.
Jiang Chuxie clenched her teeth, enduring the stinging pain in her brain and another part of her body. Standing as far as possible, she reached out to drag Yu Wen out of the stall.
The male Omega, likely sensing her pheromones, lunged at her like a parched man finding water, reckless and desperate.
An estrus induced by an aphrodisiac was clearly more intense than a natural one, with pheromones far more enticing than usual.
Jiang Chuxie stayed behind instead of getting help because her body was reacting. It was the thing she found hardest to accept since becoming an Alpha, and she absolutely didn’t want this embarrassing state exposed to others.
The male Omega’s clinging made Jiang Chuxie sweat profusely. She roughly pinned him down with her knee, twisted his hands behind his back, and held them firmly with one hand.
Once sure he couldn’t break free, she used her free hand to pull out two suppressants and injected them forcefully into the gland at the back of Yu Wen’s neck.
Since the heat was forced by an aphrodisiac, Jiang Chuxie, to be safe, used two types of suppressants.
After finishing, she felt a wave of relief, only then noticing her body was trembling violently.
Her back was soaked with sweat, and droplets rolled down her jaw.
The intense stimulation and stubborn restraint left her muscles aching painfully. Yu Wen’s pheromone scent was starting to fade. Jiang Chuxie quickly let go, trying to move him farther away.
But the moment she released him, Yu Wen lunged at her again, his soft hands nearly touching her most vulnerable spot…
“Senior!”
Gu Lingjun and Zhao Zi rushed back to the restroom, only to find Yu Wen leaning against the wall by the sink. His eyes were closed, seemingly unconscious, his face no longer as flushed, and his pheromone scent much weaker.
Besides a jacket on him, there were two used suppressant vials, but Jiang Chuxie was nowhere to be found.
Zhao Zi, too busy to look for Jiang Chuxie, hurried to check on Yu Wen.
“Lingjun, call an ambulance.”
Apart from some bruising on his wrists, Yu Wen had no other injuries or signs of assault.
In the end, Jiang Chuxie had indeed only suppressed his heat.
An Alpha resisting the temptation of an Omega in heat?
Zhao Zi found it unbelievable.
Biologically, Omegas and Alphas in heat mostly act on instinct, but there’s a key difference.
The core distinction is that Omegas, as vulnerable prey, can’t resist an Alpha’s advances even with some rationality left, while Alphas, despite intense urges, retain enough reason to control their bodies—though most see no need to.
Before marking, Omegas have periodic heats, while Alphas’ heats are typically triggered by Omegas. After marking, Alphas can force Omegas into heat, dominating them physically and emotionally.
Thus, marking benefits Alphas with no downsides, which is why they rarely resist. If an Omega’s heat triggers an assault, Alphas often face no consequences.
“Senior, how is he?”
After calling, Gu Lingjun anxiously asked about Yu Wen. Jiang Chuxie’s absence both worried her and brought slight relief.
“He should be stable, but he’s in for a rough time.” Zhao Zi glanced around. “Where’s Jiang Chuxie?”
Gu Lingjun was about to shake her head when she noticed a text on her phone.
“Senior… said she went back.”
Resisting temptation was no small feat, and Zhao Zi understood why Jiang Chuxie left.
“Fair enough. Let’s handle Yu Wen first.”
Though Yu Wen’s condition had eased, the restroom was still thick with pheromones. They didn’t dare move him out. Zhao Zi turned up the exhaust fan to reduce the pheromone concentration, while Gu Lingjun used a cold, wet handkerchief to cool Yu Wen down.
After a busy moment, Zhuang Qi finally arrived with help. As an Alpha, she stayed outside, and several Beta student council members came in.
Two carried a stretcher, and one held a large can of pheromone neutralizer.
“You’re finally here,” Zhao Zi said, relieved. “We called an ambulance. How’s everything set?”
The member with the neutralizer sprayed Yu Wen thoroughly, while the others lifted him onto the stretcher.
“The president had security clear an exit path. No Alphas will come near.”
“Good.” Zhao Zi relaxed, picking up Jiang Chuxie’s jacket from the floor to cover Yu Wen. “Don’t let too many see him.”
As an Omega, she empathized with Yu Wen’s situation.
“Senior, use mine.” Gu Lingjun took off her shawl to cover Yu Wen’s face and upper body. “I’ll return Senior Jiang’s clothes to her.”
Zhao Zi smiled knowingly. “Alright, you don’t need to come along. I’ll go with them to the hospital.”
Gu Lingjun took the jacket and nodded. “Thank you, Senior.”
“It’s nothing. Jiang Chuxie did the council a huge favor. We’ll have to thank her properly later.”
Gu Lingjun’s gaze fell on the restroom across from them, and she said softly, “Yeah.”
