Dressed as the Scumbag Alpha Mom of the Tragic Female Lead (ABO, GL) - Chapter 61
Chapter 61
“I can do it myself…”
Their first argument ended in less than half a day, and afterward, Gu Lingjun was met with Jiang Chuxie’s overly attentive apologies.
“Sit still. I’ll dry your hair.”
Jiang Chuxie held a hairdryer in one hand, gently combing Gu Lingjun’s damp hair with the other, her movements tender and careful.
“Don’t you have work tonight?”
Jiang Chuxie usually worked until eleven or twelve, and sometimes Gu Lingjun would find her asleep on the living room sofa. A big reason they hadn’t shared a room was that Jiang Chuxie was simply too busy.
“Nope, all done.” Jiang Chuxie touched Gu Lingjun’s hair, confirming it was dry, and carefully put the hairdryer away. “Sorry, even though we’re living together, I haven’t spent enough time with you.”
“I know you’re busy,” Jiang Chuxie’s unusual behavior was clearly influenced by their afternoon fight, and Gu Lingjun didn’t want her to dwell on it. “Besides, we’re just doing our own things when we’re together. You don’t need to feel guilty.”
Living together naturally brought some bumps and bickering, which should become routine. It was already remarkable they’d gone so long without a disagreement, but since their first fight was about something as major as pregnancy, it hit Gu Lingjun especially hard.
Jiang Chuxie bent down, gently embracing Gu Lingjun from behind. “No, I realized too late. At least at night, I should spend more time with you. I shouldn’t let work consume my life and neglect the important person beside me.”
Though Gu Lingjun felt Jiang Chuxie’s self-reflection was a bit much, she was happy that Jiang Chuxie was thinking of her so much.
She leaned against Jiang Chuxie’s shoulder, tentatively holding the hands wrapped around her, gently caressing them.
“Then tonight, will you stay with me?”
Even if they did nothing, Gu Lingjun wanted to share a room and sleep beside Jiang Chuxie. Beyond desire, she loved Jiang Chuxie’s pheromones, warmth, and presence.
“Sure, I’ll stay with you until you fall asleep.”
Until she fell asleep meant Jiang Chuxie still didn’t plan to sleep together. Gu Lingjun felt a slight pang of disappointment, but considering her recent pregnancy and their habit of sleeping apart, it was natural Jiang Chuxie wouldn’t decide so quickly.
“Okay.”
The room they’d lived in for half a month was filled with the mingled scents of orchids and coffee. Even sleeping apart, their pheromones were increasingly invading each other’s space.
Jiang Chuxie held Gu Lingjun with utmost tenderness, as if handling a fragile doll. Her gentle touches, occasional kisses, and lazy, loving words enveloped Gu Lingjun, weaving a sweet cocoon around her.
“Let’s schedule a full checkup at the hospital. You took that pill, and we haven’t been careful since. I hope the baby’s healthy.”
Jiang Chuxie’s slender fingers wove through Gu Lingjun’s hair, rhythmically combing it, sometimes playfully twirling the ends or lightly massaging her scalp. Her movements were cautious yet brimming with a longing to be close.
It wasn’t a dramatic change, but Gu Lingjun noticed. Normally, Jiang Chuxie was upright and shy, expressing raw emotion only in unguarded moments. Now, her intimacy carried an unspoken restraint and patience.
“Okay, we should ask the doctor about pregnancy precautions too.”
Gu Lingjun loved every version of Jiang Chuxie. Maybe arguments weren’t all bad—they showed they were adjusting, learning more about each other.
“How about we get our marriage certificate soon? We can’t hold a wedding yet, though.”
Without a child, whether or when to marry was up for discussion. But with a baby, not having a certificate would cause issues. This alone showed Jiang Chuxie had thought deeply after their fight.
Nestled in Jiang Chuxie’s arms, Gu Lingjun grew sleepy, her eyes hazy. “Yeah, we should tell my parents…”
“I’ll draft a prenup and work to earn their approval.”
Gu Lingjun’s lips curved into a smile, her voice mumbled. “We’ll work together. I believe they’ll accept us someday… This is just to inform them…”
Jiang Chuxie hummed softly, kissing Gu Lingjun’s forehead.
“Sleep, Lingjun. You don’t need to worry about anything. I’ll protect you.”
Surrounded by Jiang Chuxie’s scent and soothed by her gentle touch, Gu Lingjun fell into a peaceful sleep. Once sure Gu Lingjun was sound asleep, Jiang Chuxie quietly left the room.
Her face now held no trace of a smile, her brow furrowed deeply. Though she’d resolved to protect Gu Lingjun, it was easier said than done.
Still, she knew it was time to shift from reacting to acting.
“Mmm~”
Gu Lingjun slept soundly, waking with a lazy hum. Still groggy, she reached from under the covers to grab the bedside clock. But as her hand met the cool air, a strong hand caught it.
“Hm?”
“You “You’re awake?” Jiang Chuxie’s soft voice sounded by her ear. “It’s eight. Time for breakfast.”
“Chuxie?”
Jiang Chuxie had always called her to wake up from outside, respectful but a bit distant for a couple. Since yesterday, though, she seemed to have clicked, approaching Gu Lingjun with newfound initiative.
“It’s me. Breakfast’s ready.”
“Mmm…” Despite her disciplined habits, being woken by someone she loved made Gu Lingjun want to act spoiled and linger in bed. “What’s for breakfast?”
“Milk and toast sandwiches with burger patties. You liked them last time, right?”
“Yeah, I like them.”
Gu Lingjun squinted at Jiang Chuxie, her smile radiant, unsure if she meant the patties or Jiang Chuxie herself.
Jiang Chuxie leaned to kiss her, but Gu Lingjun smiled, pressing a hand to her face.
“Nope, I haven’t brushed my teeth.”
Jiang Chuxie caught her wrist, kissing her palm several times, her voice low. “Not even without tongue?”
Goodness, just because they were having a child and becoming moms, did it change her this much?
Marriage was indeed different from dating, and having a child changed things too. In just a day, Chuxie had overcome her shyness to tease her back.
“Hmm, I’ll consider it.”
Gu Lingjun found this side of Jiang Chuxie refreshing, her playful side eager to test her limits.
She smiled at Jiang Chuxie, lips slightly pursed, not overtly seductive but undeniably alluring.
Jiang Chuxie inhaled sharply, one hand braced on the bed, the other cradling Gu Lingjun’s cheek, leaning down for a deep kiss.
“Mmm…”
Gu Lingjun had seen many new sides of Jiang Chuxie these past days. This passionate version was rare when she was fully aware.
“Lingjun…”
Jiang Chuxie gently brushed Gu Lingjun’s soft lips, murmuring, her warm palm and slender fingers caressing Gu Lingjun’s pale, soft cheek as if holding a treasure.
Feeling Jiang Chuxie’s cherish and tenderness, Gu Lingjun’s heart swelled with sweetness and a bittersweet ache. She looped her arms around Jiang Chuxie’s shoulders, tentatively extending her tongue.
When soft wetness touched her lips, Jiang Chuxie’s breathing grew heavier, her body trembling with excitement.
Only touching Gu Lingjun filled her heart, quieted her racing thoughts, and eased her tense body.
Only yesterday did she realize how vital Gu Lingjun was to her. She was no longer alone. In this world, Gu Lingjun was the only person she cared for, loved, and connected with.
She craved touching Gu Lingjun, merging with her, never parting. Beyond that, this world and its people meant nothing to her.
Sensing Gu Lingjun’s invitation, Jiang Chuxie pursed her lips, pressing against her tongue to deepen the morning kiss.
“Mmm~ No way!” But Gu Lingjun pushed her face away, a mischievous glint in her eyes. “You said no tongue.”
Jiang Chuxie wanted to hold her tight, pin her down, but restrained herself, her voice hoarse. “But you started…”
Gu Lingjun parted her cherry lips, sticking out a bit of red tongue, making a face as Jiang Chuxie’s breathing quickened.
“You said no tongue, not me. So I can, but you can’t.”
Jiang Chuxie looked frustrated yet helpless, taking deep breaths to calm her impulses.
“I’m realizing you’re quite naughty.”
Gu Lingjun laughed, hugging Jiang Chuxie’s shoulders. “Wondering when you’d notice.”
“Guess I didn’t see your true nature.” Jiang Chuxie feigned annoyance, tapping her forehead. “I’ll have to dig deeper from now on.”
“Welcome to it! Dig away, dig deep—you might find a whole new Gu Lingjun!” She leaned close, kissing Jiang Chuxie’s cheek as a reward. “Alright, don’t sulk. I’m getting up to brush my teeth and eat breakfast!”
Jiang Chuxie shook her head, chuckling. “As if you’re eating for me.”
Gu Lingjun deliberately twisted her words. “Want me to feed you? I could. You cook, I feed—fair split.”
Jiang Chuxie flexed her waist, pulling Gu Lingjun up with her.
“Forget it. You feed me, I feed you—we’d never finish breakfast.”
Gu Lingjun blinked, lightly licking her lips. “Then feed you something else?”
