- Dullard Buddy-kun: Heading Reluctantly to School Again Today
- Episode 17 - Complainer?
Complaints are part and parcel of working part-time in the food and beverage industry.
For the past year, I continued working part-time and painfully understood that.
However, it’s not something that happens with that kind of frequency. Not at all, but…
It’s currently 9 PM.
The customer traffic had settled down, and I thought I could finish my shift in about an hour when a phone call came in at the store.
And now, I, Kento Mamiya, am once again riding my bike dedicated to Dokumanaldo.
I’m in the middle of my second delivery today.
The delivery destination is the same club where I made a delivery today just after 6 PM.
In the delivery box at the back of the motorcycle, there is only one solitary item inside.
Yeah. There’s just one bottle of barbecue sauce inside.
The reason is that I received an angry call just now saying that one barbecue sauce was missing.
It’s just that it was delivered around 6 PM, and now it’s not enough…
But, there’s a story about one sauce being missing for an order of 50 boxes of nuggets.
I thought I had thoroughly checked before delivery, but there’s no evidence, and honestly, I can’t deny the possibility that it might have actually been insufficient.
Because of that, I’m currently delivering honestly.
Even so, it was the same on the phone, but why can people like that be so rude to others, even if they are from a store?
Even on the phone, they naturally used casual language, and when they actually delivered a few hours earlier, they arrived exactly at the reserved time of 6 PM, yet they still complained and demanded half off, saying it was late.
This time too, I can already see a future where they will nitpick and complain about it when I bring it.
This is the worst.
For now, it’s just a prejudice, but is it really the case that clubs are places where those kinds of people gather? At least, I probably wouldn’t go there in my private life.
Well, I don’t even have any friends, so even if I wanted to go, it’s not a place I could go to…
Even so, even though I’m riding my bike, it’s unusually cold today.
I just want to quickly deliver this and return so I can peacefully end my shift.
What the… Those guys I just passed…
Did it look like a sakaki?
Weren’t you all pretty drunk? I think I just passed by a trio stumbling around.
Well, you’ve got the wrong person.
Even those guys who always act so tough aren’t that stupid, right?
Even so, that customer saying “bring it in one minute” is just impossible.
Even if I drive fast, it will still take at least 15 minutes due to the distance. I know I won’t make it on time anyway, so I’m driving safely from the start.
Either way, the barbecue sauce will be there in less than a minute. So just wait quietly. You can already see the destination from here.
While I was thinking about such things, I noticed the vibration sound of my phone coming from my pants pocket.
Normally, I would ignore it while driving, but since it might be a call from the store, I slow down and pull over to the shoulder.
And while thinking that it would be too good to be true if the notification I received was a cancellation saying that the barbecue sauce was no longer needed, I slowly took out my vibrating smartphone.
What a shame. It wasn’t a call from the store…
Right now, on my smartphone, there’s a LINE incoming call screen with the name “Saya.”
I…?
Ah, Yamamoto, huh?
Come to think of it, I was given a piece of paper with an ID written on it the other day, so I just went ahead and registered.
Of course, I haven’t sent any messages or anything like that.
But what does Yamamoto want? And why me, at this hour…?
I don’t understand it at all.
Just ignore it normally.
I thought so, but…
“Yes. This is Mamiya.”
I feel a bit nauseous, so I guess I’ll just go out for now.
“Oh! You got it! Yay, Saya-chan! You got a 10-minute release chance!!!”
Hmm? What’s that? A man’s voice?
By the way, who…?
