Everyone Loves the Alpha, But He’s Not Interested [Transmigration] - Chapter 13
Ning Xi paused for a moment, a little confused about why Assistant Xue suddenly asked that question. After thinking for a bit, she replied to the message.
Ning Xi: Yes, I’m with two Omega classmates. We had some misunderstandings before, so this is kind of a reconciliation dinner. [laughs]
Ning Xi: We just got here and haven’t ordered yet. If you’re free, feel free to join us. After dinner, we can go shopping together.
Yu Qingxue’s assistant: I am free, but would it be alright? Would they be upset if a stranger suddenly showed up?
Ning Xi: Actually, I’m not very close with them. Eating together alone feels a bit awkward. I’d really appreciate it if you could come.
Yu Qingxue’s assistant: Okay, I’m coming to rescue you right now. Send me the address. [freeloader shuffle]
Ning Xi sent her the location along with the name of the restaurant. Then she looked up and said to Li Shuru and Wang Yunxuan, “My friend needs to see me. Do you mind if she joins us for dinner?”
The reason Ning Xi invited Assistant Xue was because she suddenly realized that an Alpha dining alone with two Omegas might not look appropriate. Having another Beta present would make things more comfortable and less likely to cause misunderstandings or gossip.
Li Shuru and Wang Yunxuan quickly shook their heads. Wang Yunxuan, her cheeks burning, covered her face and said, “This is our apology dinner. You can invite whoever you want.”
There was a knock at the door.
“Come in.”
A server walked in carrying an order device and handed each of them a menu. After glancing over their faces, he chose to stand next to Ning Xi with a friendly smile.
“Miss, do you enjoy spicy food? I can recommend some of our restaurant’s signature dishes.”
Ning Xi remembered that Assistant Xue had mentioned her taste preferences before. She looked up and said, “Could you recommend two or three dishes that are either sour and spicy or sweet and spicy?”
The server was clearly moved by Ning Xi’s gentle voice and replied with slight excitement, “Our hot and sour tripe soup, sweet and spicy shrimp, and sweet and spicy cabbage pancakes are all excellent.”
Ning Xi closed the menu. “Let’s have those three. Thank you.”
“No problem at all.” The server tapped on his device, then glanced fondly at Ning Xi’s side profile before moving over to take Li Shuru and Wang Yunxuan’s orders.
Ten minutes later, Yu Qingxue arrived at the restaurant in a rush.
To avoid being recognized, she wore a loose trench coat that hid her figure, and sunglasses and a mask that nearly covered her entire face. The moment she entered, everyone in the restaurant turned to look at her.
A server walked over with a cautious look, as if afraid she might suddenly pull out a weapon and shout something alarming.
“Hello, do you have a reservation?”
Yu Qingxue opened her phone and showed the chat with Ning Xi. “Room 306,” she said.
When she noticed the server had no intention of leading her inside, Yu Qingxue frowned slightly. “You’re not going to take me there?”
The server answered carefully, “Would it be possible for your friend to come out and meet you?”
“That’s not convenient.” If Ning Xi saw it wasn’t really Assistant Xue, what if she refused to let her join the dinner?
Yu Qingxue lightly held the arm of her sunglasses and pulled them down slightly, revealing her beautiful eyes. Her long lashes lowered just enough to give her a soft, pleading expression. “Can’t you please take me directly? I want to surprise my friend.”
Her gentle voice was filled with sweetness, like she was playfully asking for a favor. The Beta server looked into her misty pale eyes and immediately blushed. “Of course. I will take you there right away.”
Still flustered, the server led Yu Qingxue to the door of room 306. Yu Qingxue thanked her politely.
“I’ll knock for you,” the server said eagerly.
She knocked three times. When a voice inside said “Come in,” she opened the door for her.
Inside, the three people assumed the server was bringing food. They looked up, only to see a woman wrapped up from head to toe standing at the door.
Li Shuru and Wang Yunxuan thought she had walked into the wrong room and were about to speak, but Ning Xi stood up when she saw her and walked over with surprise in her voice.
“Director Yu? What are you doing here?”
Li Shuru and Wang Yunxuan fell silent immediately when they saw the two knew each other. They watched them curiously.
Yu Qingxue looked even more surprised than Ning Xi. She took off her sunglasses and asked, “You recognized me?”
Ning Xi reached out and touched the fluffy curls by her cheek, smiling. “I recognized your hair, Director Yu.”
Yu Qingxue’s hair was soft and voluminous, glowing like silk. Every time Ning Xi saw it, she couldn’t help but admire it.
Yu Qingxue felt her heart skip a beat. She gently brushed the strand that Ning Xi had touched behind her shoulder, as if trying to hide her reaction.
She glanced at the two beautiful Omegas sitting awkwardly, unsure whether to greet her. Holding back her fluttering emotions, she took off her trench coat and mask.
“Assistant Xue was sent on a business trip and won’t be back anytime soon. She said she had an appointment with you and didn’t want to miss it, so she asked me to come in her place. She told me to have dinner with you and help you buy the necessary items for the production team.”
After finishing her explanation, she tossed her coat, mask, sunglasses, and shoulder bag into Ning Xi’s arms. Then she took a seat beside her.
With a graceful nod to the stunned Li Shuru and Wang Yunxuan, she smiled elegantly and said, “Hello, I’m Yu Qingxue.”
Ning Xi hung the trench coat on the coat rack, placed the sunglasses and mask into the bag, and hung that up as well. Only then did she return to her seat.
Yu Qingxue had just transferred her one hundred thousand yuan in payment that morning. Helping her hang up a coat was nothing in comparison.
Ning Xi thought nothing of it, but Li Shuru and Wang Yunxuan were staring wide-eyed, almost unable to believe what they were seeing.
They had never imagined that the “friend” Ning Xi mentioned would turn out to be the stunning Omega celebrity Yu Qingxue. The interaction between the two had a natural closeness to it, with a subtle hint of intimacy. When Ning Xi had touched Yu Qingxue’s hair earlier, their faces had turned red from watching.
“This is my classmate Li Shuru, and her close friend Wang Yunxuan,” Ning Xi introduced them.
When Yu Qingxue heard the name “Wang Yunxuan,” her eyes briefly swept over her again with subtle curiosity. Her long, straight black hair and sweet, pure features matched the typical school beauty type. Considering what Ning Xi had mentioned in the chat about misunderstandings and this being a reconciliation dinner, Yu Qingxue quickly put the pieces together. The girl who had criticized Ning Xi in that video was clearly this one.
Wang Yunxuan looked visibly nervous. “H-hello, I’m a huge fan of yours.”
Li Shuru nodded repeatedly. “It’s true. Yunxuan admires you so much. Our dorm walls are covered in your posters.”
Yu Qingxue tilted her head slightly, her soft curls falling gently along her cheek. She smiled and asked, “My little fan, would you like to add me on WeChat?”
“Add you on WeChat? Really? Can I?” Wang Yunxuan was so happy she looked like she might faint.
“Of course.” Yu Qingxue opened her WeChat app. Wang Yunxuan hurried over and had her scan the QR code, quickly accepting the friend request. The two officially became WeChat contacts.
Wang Yunxuan knew Yu Qingxue must have done it because of Ning Xi. After sitting back down, she gave Ning Xi a grateful look.
Ning Xi stared back silently. Was there a misunderstanding?
