Everyone Loves the Alpha, But He’s Not Interested [Transmigration] - Chapter 9
Two days later, Ning Xi arrived in the central district of Beihai City using free public transportation.
This area was lined with dozens of high-rise office buildings, where every square meter was incredibly valuable. Six Directions Film, Yu Qingxue’s company, had leased both the 35th and 36th floors of the Fuli Tower. One floor was used for office operations, while the other was dedicated to training their contracted trainees.
Before coming, Ning Xi had done some research. After reading online introductions and reviews about Six Directions Film, her admiration for Yu Qingxue deepened.
In recent years, the company had invested in three films, two television dramas, and one talent show. Every single project had become a massive success. Many people secretly speculated about Yu Qingxue’s income. Some claimed she earned at least two to three hundred million yuan a year through investments alone.
After earning the title of “The World’s Most Beautiful Omega,” Yu Qingxue had also gained a new title as “The Most Profitable Omega.” Even people who were never fans of her beauty began to admire her financial power.
Yu Qingxue seemed flawless in every way, except for one surprising detail. Not long ago, she revealed in an interview that she had never been in a romantic relationship.
Both fans and casual viewers had always assumed that she must have had a steady Alpha partner in private, and that any lack of news was simply because the paparazzi had not done their job well enough. They believed her relationship had just not yet been caught on camera.
Even the paparazzi protested that they had been wronged.
Although society had made progress in ABO equality, most Omegas, due to biological reasons, still chose to marry and start families before the age of twenty-five. A globally famous Omega like Yu Qingxue, who remained single and had never dated, was truly one of a kind.
Ning Xi guessed that Yu Qingxue might have the same reason she did for not dating — emotional indifference.
If that were true, Ning Xi thought it would be wonderful to be friends with someone like her.
After getting off the shuttle, Ning Xi adjusted her white mask, which covered most of her face and left only her sharp brows and dark eyes visible. She could not afford new clothes, but even in her loose school uniform, her tall, slender figure stood out.
Upon entering the Fuli Tower, Ning Xi was momentarily stunned by the luxurious lobby. She did not linger. Instead, she walked straight to the front desk to register.
“Are you a celebrity?” the receptionist asked, looking at her curiously.
Ning Xi lifted her head and smiled gently. “Not yet.”
Her black eyes shimmered softly, and her long, curled eyelashes looked like delicate little fans.
The receptionist felt her heart skip a beat. Her cheeks flushed red, and she found it hard to look away from Ning Xi.
After Ning Xi filled in her information and handed over her ID card, the receptionist checked her registration form, her voice filled with excitement.
“So you’re going to Six Directions Film? Are you signing as a trainee? That means I’ll be seeing you often from now on.”
Ning Xi gave a polite smile without saying anything more.
The receptionist took a card from the drawer and handed it to her. “You can use this to go directly to the 36th floor. When you leave, don’t forget to exchange your elevator card for your ID.”
Ning Xi accepted the card and said with a smile, “Thank you.”
The receptionist met her gaze again and almost melted on the spot. “You’re welcome,” she replied dazedly.
At the elevator, Ning Xi tapped the card against the wall-mounted sensor. With a soft beep, the elevator doors opened smoothly.
Only after the elevator closed behind her did she finally escape the receptionist’s intense gaze.
Watching the numbers on the elevator screen change rapidly, Ning Xi frowned slightly. She didn’t understand why people still stared at her even when most of her face was covered.
Ding. The elevator arrived at the 36th floor, and the doors opened again.
Standing outside was a man in a tailored suit, who greeted her with a polite smile.
“Miss Ning, welcome. I am Fan Weixi, Special Assistant to President Yu. You can call me Assistant Fan. President Yu has been waiting for you in her office.”
“Thank you.” Ning Xi was a bit surprised by Yu Qingxue’s personal attention, though she kept her expression calm and followed him quietly.
They walked down the corridor to the office. On the way, they passed a few employees who greeted Assistant Fan and gave Ning Xi a curious glance, then quickly returned to their work.
Ning Xi thought to herself, no wonder they work for Yu Qingxue. Even the staff seem to mirror her style.
At the office door, Assistant Fan turned to her and said, “Miss Ning, I’ll leave you here. Please knock yourself. I won’t disturb you and President Yu.”
With that, he entered the adjacent assistant’s office and closed the door behind him.
Ning Xi paused for a moment, then lifted her hand and knocked softly.
Inside, the sharp sound of high heels echoed in response.
The door opened, revealing Yu Qingxue’s stunning face. Her eyes swept over Ning Xi from head to toe before she finally spoke.
“Come in.”
Ning Xi stepped into the CEO’s office, closed the door behind her, and followed Yu Qingxue to a seating area sectioned off with a screen.
“Sit,” Yu Qingxue said as she took her own seat and gestured to the sofa across from her.
Ning Xi sat down gracefully.
She looked around for a moment before asking, “President Yu, where is Assistant Xue today?”
Yu Qingxue replied without any change in expression, “She’s on a business trip to the Jinnan District.”
Not wanting Ning Xi to ask further, Yu Qingxue changed the subject.
“For newcomers, the usual pay for a first acting role is around two hundred thousand yuan. Do you have any other expectations regarding your compensation?”
Two hundred thousand. With that money, Ning Xi would no longer have to worry about tuition or living expenses.
Yu Qingxue waited for her to bargain, but to her surprise, she saw a trace of satisfaction flash through Ning Xi’s eyes.
“President Yu, I have no objections,” she said.
Yu Qingxue asked, “I thought you were in need of money. Why didn’t you take the chance to negotiate?”
Was she truly indifferent, or was this a tactic to gain leverage?
Yu Qingxue studied Ning Xi intently.
Ning Xi met her gaze openly and replied, “As long as the money is enough, that’s all I need. I can always earn more later.”
In her previous life, Ning Xi had never cared much about wealth. Her family had raised her with the belief that “as long as money is sufficient, it’s enough.” Even after entering the entertainment industry, she lived by that principle. She always kept only what she needed and donated the rest anonymously to various charities.
Yu Qingxue felt a flicker in her chest. A small flame quietly lit in the depths of her heart.
No one could resist a soul that pure.
Stars shimmered in Yu Qingxue’s eyes. Her fingers lightly touched her full red lips. Her gaze softened and her voice turned gentle but sincere.
“Then it’s settled. Two hundred thousand, along with a promise from me. If you ever face any difficulty in life, you can tell Assistant Xue. I will help you with whatever you need.”
To Ning Xi, this was an unexpected gift. Yu Qingxue’s help was worth far more than money.
Ning Xi was slightly surprised. “Thank you, President Yu.”
Yu Qingxue nodded gracefully, accepting her gratitude.
After all, Ning Xi would be her girlfriend in the future. Helping her girlfriend was only natural.
Knock, knock, knock.
There was a knock on the door. Ning Xi looked toward Yu Qingxue.
“It’s probably another actor here to sign their contract.” Yu Qingxue leaned lazily against the sofa without making any move to get up.
Understanding her place, Ning Xi said, “I’ll get the door.”
She thought to herself, Yu Qingxue’s lazy manner is quite adorable. That’s a style I could never pull off.
She walked to the door and turned the handle, opening it from the inside.
Standing outside was a woman, slightly shorter than Ning Xi, with short hair. When she saw Ning Xi’s face, the muscles in her expression twitched faintly.
Alpha meeting Alpha. Even without releasing pheromones, their natural auras clashed.
The woman’s gaze was filled with obvious caution and alertness.
Ning Xi lowered her eyes casually, glancing past the woman.
Her hands were clenched tightly into fists, and the red mole on her wrist stood out clearly.
A beam of recognition broke through the fog in Ning Xi’s memory. A knowing light flashed through her eyes.
She seemed to recall who this woman was.
The author of the novel had once mentioned in a side note that the antagonist, Yu Qingxue, had been given an official love interest. This love interest was a fiercely protective Alpha with a strong girlfriend persona, and her most distinct feature was a red mole on her wrist.
