- Chapter 3 - "Aren't We Going to Do Something Naughty?"
Wakana’s popularity is undoubtedly genuine.
“Wakana-chan, I heard you turned down another confession? You said you have someone you like.”
“Yeah. I felt bad about it, but I thought it would be worse to date someone when my feelings aren’t in it.”
“That’s true. Wakana-san is so responsible. I wonder if someone like a prince on a white horse will show up for me someday?”
“Hehe. I’m sure someone will swoop in and whisk away Taneda-san in style.”
From gestures to words, everything is a meticulously calculated camouflage.
No one knows that she can smile with such an enchanting face. Or that she can pull you close in a way that makes you feel it. Wakana would never let that side show.

“You don’t have to stalk her; I would gladly keep Sana company.”
During lunch break, I found myself cornered by Wakana behind the school building. I was supposed to be tailing her to keep an eye on her, but instead, I had fallen right into her trap.
“I wasn’t following you just to keep you company.”
“Is that so? Then—”
Leaning against the wall, Wakana pushed off lightly, closing the distance between us.
“Were you planning something naughty?”
Her warm breath tickled my ear, and her words slipped inside me.
“—What!? No way! I was just watching to make sure you didn’t say anything unnecessary!”
“Really? But in a place like this, where no one is around?”
“That’s because you came here!”
It seemed my voice didn’t reach her. Wakana took a small step back, then slowly began to take off her blazer.
“What are you doing?”
She didn’t answer. Instead, she gradually pulled her shirt out from her skirt.
“—Hmm.”
With the sound of fabric rubbing together, Wakana’s shirt slipped out from her skirt.
“Sana. Are you really not going to do anything naughty?”
Her sweet, dangerous whisper. Wakana gazed at me with narrowed eyes, not breaking her stare. Yet, her hands were slowly rolling up her shirt.
Under the tips of her fingers, Wakana’s surprisingly beautiful skin asserted its presence.
“—Ah!”
Wakana’s hands didn’t stop. Even as a small, slightly indented spot became visible, her skin continued to be revealed.
Her soft-looking belly. A hint of a waist that peeked out. It seemed she was trying to show me more.
“Are we not doing anything naughty?”
Wakana leaned in closer, whispering in my ear. It felt like a devil’s whisper resonating directly in my mind. If I reached out now, I could touch her skin. The skin I could only imagine through her blazer. I could gently sink into it.
“—Ah.”
“See? It’s soft.”
Wakana took my left hand and guided it to her skin. Her soft skin. My hand, frozen and unable to move, was coaxed by Wakana to explore.
I traced her skin, savoring it. Eventually, I found my way to that small, indented spot.
“—Ahh.”
Wakana let out a soft, sweet sound. Yet she didn’t stop moving my hand back and forth. Right, left. Slowly, she made sure I felt the shape of that indentation.
“—Mmm.”
A hard sensation transmitted through my fingers. In response, Wakana’s breathing grew heavier.
Sometimes, I pressed my fingers in deeper. I could feel her searching for the way that felt best for her.
“Ahh…! Mmm, mmm…!”
Eventually, Wakana let out an especially sweet sound, pushing my fingers in repeatedly at the same spot. My fingers, having reached deep inside, were rubbed up and down.
“—W-wait…! Just stop…!”
This couldn’t go on. It wasn’t just about someone coming or getting in trouble. The real danger was me.
“If you want to stop, that’s fine.”
Wakana’s gaze felt like it could see right through everything.
“I—”
Words wouldn’t come. I should want her to stop. Yet, I was still driven by the urge to caress her skin just a little longer.
Seeing my hesitation, Wakana let out a small sigh.
“I guess I have no choice.”
My hand, which had been touching her, was already pulled away. Wakana also took a small step back from me.
“…Did you want to touch more?”
“—Ah! …That’s not it.”
Wakana’s teasing eyes made it hard to look straight at her, and I averted my gaze slightly.
“We’ll continue another time.”
As she tucked her shirt back into her skirt, Wakana said that. Another time… was she planning to do something similar again? Was this the true nature of the seemingly demure Wakana?
“Oh, right.”
Adjusting her skirt, Wakana spoke as if she had just remembered something.
“You’ll get confessions too, right?”
“…Well.”
“So, when you turn them down next time, say ‘I have someone else I like.'”
“Huh? Why? And why are you assuming I’ll turn them down?”
“Then, are you going to date someone?”
Wakana, having closed the distance between us once more, tilted her head with a strangely cheerful expression.
“…I’m not dating anyone.”
“I see. Do you have someone you like?”
“…No.”
“Really?”
“Really. I don’t like anyone yet.”
Then, an abrupt silence fell. Even though I should have been able to hear the sound of the wind nearby. My focus remained solely on Wakana.
I was curious about what she was thinking and why she wasn’t saying anything. I shouldn’t care about other people’s matters.
Breaking the silence, Wakana let out a small sigh and twirled her skirt.
Her back was much more delicate than I had imagined, reminding me that she was just another girl.
“Sana.”
Wakana spoke, her voice trembling slightly as she faced away from me.
“I’ll work hard to make you like me more.”
That ambiguous way of saying it made me acutely aware of what I had said.
I never intended it to mean what Wakana might think. Yet, I had unwittingly given her an opening.
Feeling regretful, I could only watch as Wakana’s shrinking back disappeared from view.
