- Chapter 4 - "––––Do You Want to Touch It?"
“Sorry for calling you out so suddenly, Sana.”
“It’s no problem at all! So, what’s this about?”
Even though I should be used to this kind of thing, I felt unusually cautious today.
“Well, um… I’m not sure if you’d want to hear this from someone like me, but…”
“That’s not true. I’ll listen properly. So, take your time, okay?”
“T-Thanks.”
He hesitated, but eventually, he looked at me with determination.
“I like you, Sana. The way you always speak kindly to people, the way you immediately help anyone in need. I find all of it incredibly charming. …Will you go out with me?”
It’s all just a facade. The fake version of me. There’s no way I’m so empty-headed that I’d settle for a dreamy, naive boy like him.
Usually, I’d come up with some excuse and turn them down. But today–––.
“…………”
When I said nothing, his expression wavered with uncertainty.
“U-Um… what do you think?”
“Ah… sorry. I don’t think I can date you.”
When I said that, he asked for a reason.
Since I was the one rejecting him, it felt only fair to provide one. The “perfect me” would think that way.
“…Because I like someone else.”
After some hesitation, I gave that as my reason. It wasn’t because Wakana told me to say it. It just felt like a convenient excuse.
He simply said, “I see,” before forcing a strained smile and walking away.
“…Phew…”
Why did I feel so nervous? It was just a confession.
I leaned my back against the wall behind the school building and looked up at the sky. Slowly, yet steadily, white clouds drifted by.
“Sana.”
“Hyah!?”
A familiar voice—clear and composed—startled me. I jumped involuntarily, letting out a ridiculous noise.
“Careful–––”
The last thing I saw was the rough texture of the concrete as Wakana’s voice, distant yet urgent, echoed in my ears.
◆◇◆◇
“–––Are you awake?”
As my consciousness gradually returned, a soft, soothing voice filtered into my ears.
“Wakana…?”
There was a slight discomfort in my body that slowly grew into a noticeable pain as I became more aware.
“You fainted. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“…It’s okay. I know it wasn’t your fault.”
Wakana let out a small sigh of relief, her softened gaze directed at me.
“This is the infirmary. It’s after school, so the nurse isn’t here.”
“Did you carry me here?”
“I didn’t do anything weird, I promise.”
“If you had, I’d have kicked you.”
Wakana chuckled, a faint smile on her lips as if she found the exchange enjoyable. I didn’t share the sentiment; I hated owing her for this.
“Are you getting up? You can stay lying down if you want.”
“I’ll get up. I don’t want to owe you anything.”
As I tried to move, I noticed an odd sensation. The “pillow” beneath my head felt too soft and warm to be a normal one.
“What’s wrong?”
Her voice was close—too close. Almost as if she were right above me–––.
“Wha––!? What are you doing!?”
I opened my eyes wide in shock. I tried to sit up, but my body felt heavy, refusing to cooperate.
“Not a fan of lap pillows?”
Wakana gazed down at me with an amused glint in her eyes, whispering playfully.
Her thighs were far too soft, their warmth radiating through me. The sensation was painfully vivid.
“S-Stop it…!”
“If you keep squirming, you might end up touching somewhere you shouldn’t.”
Her teasing tone made my gaze involuntarily trail down her legs. The small gap between her thighs was faintly visible beneath her slightly disheveled pleated skirt. The forbidden shadow within hinted at something alluring, almost otherworldly.
“–––Do you want to touch it?”
Leaning closer, Wakana whispered near my ear, her voice sweetly seductive. A shiver ran down my spine.
“If you do… now’s your chance.”
My eyes fixated on the hidden space between her thighs. It was undoubtedly the most tantalizing place, far hotter and softer than anywhere else.
But I knew it was off-limits.
And yet, at this very moment–––.
The thought of reaching for it sent a feverish wave through my mind.
