Ex-Girlfriend Strategy (GL) - Chapter 19
Until they got home, Shu Nanxuan sat quietly in the passenger seat, making no sound or fuss, calm like an obedient child.
This was different from before.
Back in college, when Shu Nanxuan got drunk, she was always rowdy, not stopping until half the night was gone.
Yang Jiu turned the wheel, and the car slid into the basement, parking smoothly in its spot.
Shu Nanxuan’s car was still at the bar, leaving the spot next to it empty.
Yang Jiu glanced at Shu Nanxuan, who looked asleep, sighed, got out, and carried her down.
Drunk people were heavy, but Shu Nanxuan was light overall.
Carrying her wasn’t too hard. Yang Jiu locked the car, held Shu Nanxuan and their bags, and slowly walked to the elevator.
Last time, Shu Nanxuan struggled to bring a drunk Yang Jiu back.
Today, Yang Jiu found it manageable, supporting her without her swaying too much.
With a ding, the elevator opened.
They entered, and a woman followed.
As the elevator went up, though carrying her wasn’t hard, Yang Jiu had to hold Shu Nanxuan fully in her arms.
Shu Nanxuan’s weight pressed against her, just like when Yang Jiu had leaned on her before.
It wasn’t too late, and being Friday, many returned late.
A few more people got on at the first floor, curiously glancing at their position.
Though their gazes shifted quickly, Yang Jiu caught a hint of curiosity.
She pretended not to notice, dutifully supporting Shu Nanxuan.
The elevator stopped a few times, and they finally reached their floor.
Stepping out, Yang Jiu hesitated about where to take Shu Nanxuan, ultimately choosing her own place.
Shu Nanxuan might not like her entering her apartment.
With one hand, she opened the door, helped Shu Nanxuan inside, and set her on the sofa.
Perhaps the walk jostled her, as Shu Nanxuan sat and made soft, uncomfortable whimpers.
Yang Jiu gently patted her back to ease her post-drinking discomfort.
After a few strokes, she heard Shu Nanxuan mumble, “Water…”
Yang Jiu hurried to the kitchen, mixed a cup of sugar-vinegar water—unpleasant but effective for sobering up.
When she brought it, Shu Nanxuan licked it and frowned, clearly disliking the taste.
“Be good, drink it, and you won’t feel bad tomorrow,” Yang Jiu coaxed.
Perhaps very thirsty, Shu Nanxuan drank it despite frowning.
Yang Jiu got her a glass of plain water next.
This time, Shu Nanxuan didn’t frown, sipping it slowly.
“More?”
Shu Nanxuan didn’t speak, her face expressionless.
That meant no.
Yang Jiu refilled the water, set it aside, and sat back on the sofa.
Shu Nanxuan had tugged another button off her blouse—not unbuttoned, but torn off.
The third button was gone, leaving only the thread.
“Hot…” Shu Nanxuan mumbled, unconsciously moaning as she pulled at her clothes.
Yang Jiu quickly grabbed her hands, then unbuttoned the remaining buttons to stop her from tearing and hurting herself.
Once the blouse was undone, Shu Nanxuan cooled down and stopped moving, leaning quietly on the sofa, seemingly asleep.
Yang Jiu fought her urges.
Tonight’s atmosphere was the best since they reconnected.
If she messed it up, she’d regret it forever.
