Ex-Girlfriend Strategy (GL) - Chapter 24
On Sunday morning, Shu Nanxuan leisurely slept in.
After waking, she made breakfast, ate, and opened her laptop to casually handle some work.
It wasn’t that she was a workaholic, but over the years, she had little else besides work.
After taking over the company, she devoted herself entirely to it.
Aside from occasional relaxation, she spent nearly all her time on work.
Shu Nanxuan read two emails, then moved to the third, sent by Yang Jiu yesterday.
The timestamp matched when she was out running, so she hadn’t seen it.
She opened it and read. It outlined ideas for revising the company’s current contract regulations.
The email only sketched the ideas, not detailed clauses.
After reading, she found it decent.
Checking the time—past ten—she figured Yang Jiu was already up.
In Shu Nanxuan’s memory, Yang Jiu wasn’t one to sleep in on weekends.
Well, there was an exception: morning “exercise” could keep her in bed, clinging to Shu Nanxuan for a long time, until neither could get up.
The memory made Shu Nanxuan blush.
She sipped water from her cup, calming herself, then messaged Yang Jiu to ask if they could discuss in person.
But even after finishing all her emails, Yang Jiu hadn’t replied.
On a weekend, was she really sleeping in?
Shu Nanxuan considered the possibility, then dismissed it.
Even if the whole world slept in, single Yang Jiu wouldn’t.
She closed her laptop, took it, and went across the hall.
After knocking for a minute, she was about to leave when the door opened.
The person at the entrance had wet hair, wrapped only in a towel barely covering her thighs.
Her pale legs and collarbone, still dripping water, were exposed.
“You shower at noon?” Shu Nanxuan could understand morning or evening showers, but a noon shower threw her off.
Yang Jiu glanced at herself, nodded, and without asking why Shu Nanxuan came, stretched out her arm, pulled her inside, and closed the door.
“Sorry, I was showering and didn’t hear clearly, so I checked before coming out. Sit, I’ll put on some clothes.”
She explained while leading Shu Nanxuan inside.
Why Shu Nanxuan came didn’t matter.
To Yang Jiu, her coming was good.
Why a noon shower? Because of last night’s encounter.
The full curve of her chest and perky hips tormented Yang Jiu all night, keeping her awake.
Near morning, she dozed off, only to have a vivid dream.
Unsatisfied, she woke and bit the blanket to relieve her body’s needs.
Dragging on, it became noon.
The bedroom still had a lingering scent.
She hurriedly opened the window to air it out, changed into pajamas, and came out, fearing Shu Nanxuan might leave.
Luckily, Shu Nanxuan was still on the sofa, not leaving while she was gone.
Already in a good mood, Yang Jiu felt even happier.
She grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and handed it to Shu Nanxuan.
“Sorry, I just moved in. Only bottled water here. Don’t mind.”
Shu Nanxuan took the water. “I don’t mind.”
“I came to discuss the email you sent last night,” she said.
Yang Jiu then realized—oh, work. No wonder she brought the laptop.
