Ex-Girlfriend Strategy (GL) - Chapter 26
Yang Jiu slid her fingers twice to open the proposal and detailed changes document she wrote, then moved the computer slightly toward Shu Nanxuan.
“President Shu, look here, the company’s current regulations on contracts are…”
Yang Jiu operated the computer, showing a section of the document to Shu Nanxuan while explaining in detail.
Shu Nanxuan ignored the uncomfortable feeling when she heard “President Shu,” focusing on listening to Yang Jiu’s ideas about changing the current system.
When she heard problematic parts, she paused to discuss adjustments with Yang Jiu before continuing.
Since Shu Nanxuan brought her own computer, Yang Jiu’s computer was placed closer to Yang Jiu.
As time passed and the discussion deepened, Shu Nanxuan unconsciously shifted her body to accommodate the computer’s position.
“Currently, there are still issues with the process for non-template external cooperation contracts. As the company expands, external administrative cooperation will definitely increase…”
The discussion was nearly over, with only one topic left.
Yang Jiu made a flowchart for this process.
Since it involved many steps, the chart appeared small on the computer screen.
To see it more clearly, Shu Nanxuan leaned her body and lowered her head slightly while Yang Jiu explained.
Their bodies were almost touching.
It was summer and a weekend, so both wore soft, thin clothes at home, making it feel like skin against skin.
Shu Nanxuan, fully focused on work, didn’t notice. Yang Jiu did.
Her spring dream object from last night and morning fantasy object was right in front of her, already making her restless.
Relying on willpower, she managed to talk about work. Now, with the person almost in her arms, how could she keep discussing work?
Her speech slowed down and eventually stopped.
Her mind went blank, unable to recall what to say.
She constantly reminded herself to resist lifting her hand.
Her body leaned back, tense, as she took a deep breath and exhaled slowly to ease her anxiety.
She feared she’d lose control and pull the person into her arms, making their recently eased relationship tense again.
When Yang Jiu’s voice stopped, Shu Nanxuan slowly sensed something was wrong.
She pulled her attention from the document and realized her right hand was resting on Yang Jiu’s legs, her whole body almost in Yang Jiu’s arms.
It was practically a textbook example of throwing herself into someone’s arms.
Her face immediately flushed, and she quickly straightened up to look at Yang Jiu, seeing Yang Jiu’s restrained expression.
The atmosphere between them grew even more tense the moment their eyes met, as if the air had frozen.
The person who didn’t dare look at her last night now stared at her with red eyes, looking ready to pounce and devour her the next second.
That look reminded her of the night in the stairwell, when a drunk person, without reason, pounced and bit her lips, just like now, as if wanting to swallow her whole.
Just a brief glance made her feel like her back was on fire.
No, she had to leave.
“Um…” She started to speak, noticing her voice was terribly hoarse.
Shu Nanxuan coughed uncomfortably before continuing, “I’ll go back now. You revise the things we discussed and send them to my email.”
As she spoke, she lowered her computer screen, grabbed it with one hand, and stood to leave.
But after two steps, Yang Jiu grabbed her wrist.
Shu Nanxuan’s body trembled, and she stopped.
Yang Jiu felt Shu Nanxuan’s tremble, and her heart sank.
She quickly let go of her hand and offered, “Let’s have lunch together?”
