Ex-Girlfriend Strategy (GL) - Chapter 4
Driving the car into the underground parking lot of the residential complex, Shu Nanxuan didn’t go upstairs right away.
She lit a cigarette in the car.
Her heart felt irritated.
She was annoyed that Yang Jiu had barged back into her life without warning, catching her off guard.
She was annoyed at her own indecision.
She could have refused Yang Jiu, but somehow, inexplicably, she kept her.
But what irritated her most was Yang Jiu’s attitude toward her.
Back then, Yang Jiu left without a word, and now, without any explanation, she acted as if nothing had happened.
Her familiarity made it seem like the years apart didn’t exist.
After a long time, Shu Nanxuan couldn’t sort out her thoughts.
The slim cigarette had burned to its end.
Not wanting to think anymore, she extinguished the cigarette, locked the car, and went upstairs.
While waiting for the elevator, she heard the sound of high heels.
Shu Nanxuan instinctively turned to look.
The underground parking lot’s lighting wasn’t bright.
The person walking from the shadows was Yang Jiu.
Though Shu Nanxuan wondered why she was there, she didn’t want to ask.
She glanced faintly at the elevator doors again.
Yang Jiu stood beside her.
Perhaps their earlier conversation at the company had an effect, as Yang Jiu wasn’t overly enthusiastic this time.
She gave a brief greeting and then stayed silent.
Inside the elevator, Shu Nanxuan pressed the button for her floor.
Even as the doors closed, Yang Jiu made no move to select a floor.
Yang Jiu’s behavior made Shu Nanxuan increasingly irritated.
She didn’t know why Yang Jiu was there.
Her actions felt like those of a stalker, making Shu Nanxuan uncomfortable.
The elevator moved quickly.
The moment the doors opened, Shu Nanxuan stepped out. Unexpectedly, Yang Jiu followed closely behind.
Feeling the footsteps behind her, Shu Nanxuan spun around and asked coldly, “Yang Jiu, what exactly do you want?”
“I…”
Yang Jiu stopped because of Shu Nanxuan’s pause.
She knew Shu Nanxuan misunderstood and tried to explain, but after one word, Shu Nanxuan cut her off.
“I don’t care why you’re following me, but whatever your purpose, this behavior could get me to call the police. You should know that better than I do,” Shu Nanxuan said.
“Shu, you’ve misunderstood,” Yang Jiu said innocently, pointing to the door nearby.
“I’m just going home.”
Shu Nanxuan looked in the direction Yang Jiu pointed.
A few days ago, she had noticed movers at the opposite apartment but didn’t see the resident and hadn’t paid attention.
She hadn’t expected it to be Yang Jiu.
Her face darkened, and her voice grew colder.
“You did this on purpose?” she asked.
Yang Jiu asked, “What do you mean on purpose?”
“Moving across from my place on purpose. Yang Jiu, I’ll ask you again—what are you trying to do?” Shu Nanxuan demanded.
Shu Nanxuan had no special requirements for her residence, as long as it was close to the company.
The complex had a good environment and property management, with two units per floor.
The opposite apartment had been empty, and she had grown used to it.
She never imagined Yang Jiu would move in.
Yang Jiu’s innocent expression turned serious, almost solemn.
She took two steps forward, stopping just one step from Shu Nanxuan.
“Yes, I did it on purpose,” she admitted.
“Nanxuan, I want to be with you again,” she said.
Her gaze was firm, her eyes burning with intensity as she looked at Shu Nanxuan.
“Nanxuan, please give me a chance,” she pleaded.
The heat in her gaze was almost too much for Shu Nanxuan to bear.
She took a step back.
“Can we be together again?” Yang Jiu asked.
