Ex-Girlfriend Strategy (GL) - Chapter 50
Yang Jiu hurriedly locked the door and followed Shu Nanxuan into the bathroom.
Shu Nanxuan’s back was hunched, her head hanging down, looking utterly drained.
Yang Jiu turned on the bathroom’s exhaust fan while squatting beside Shu Nanxuan, gently patting her back, hoping the motion would bring her some comfort.
Shu Nanxuan kept making dry heaving sounds.
Her stomach was nearly empty, but she stayed hunched over the toilet because of the extreme discomfort that followed vomiting.
As time passed, Shu Nanxuan’s sounds grew quieter until they stopped.
She no longer propped herself up on the toilet.
Yang Jiu waited a bit, and when Shu Nanxuan didn’t continue vomiting, she lifted her into her arms and stood up.
In the mirror, Shu Nanxuan’s face was deathly pale, her brows tightly furrowed, looking extremely uncomfortable.
Yang Jiu took a tissue, wet it with water, and wiped Shu Nanxuan’s mouth.
The damp tissue was more soothing than a dry one.
She then held a glass of water to Shu Nanxuan’s lips for her to rinse her mouth.
Yang Jiu worried Shu Nanxuan might not cooperate, but she was surprisingly compliant, though her movements were painfully slow.
Just rinsing her mouth took nearly five minutes.
Seeing how uncomfortable Shu Nanxuan looked, Yang Jiu didn’t let her remove her makeup there.
She carried Shu Nanxuan out of the bathroom.
It was her first time in Shu Nanxuan’s home, and the layout was different from her own place.
She opened the second door before finding the bedroom.
She brought Shu Nanxuan in and placed her on the bed.
Yang Jiu was panting from the effort.
She took off Shu Nanxuan’s jacket and tucked her into bed.
After vomiting and resting for a while, Shu Nanxuan’s complexion finally looked better, no longer as ghostly pale as before.
Yang Jiu stared for a moment, then felt it was a bit creepy to do so and left the room to grab makeup removal supplies.
She gently removed Shu Nanxuan’s makeup and washed her face, completing a simple skincare routine that took nearly half an hour.
As a woman, Yang Jiu was familiar with the process, but to avoid making Shu Nanxuan uncomfortable, she took twice as long as usual.
After putting away the supplies, she mixed a glass of sugar-vinegar water and returned to the bedroom.
She placed the glass on the nightstand and propped Shu Nanxuan up to a half-sitting position.
“Drink some water. It’ll help you feel better tomorrow morning.”
Though vomiting usually didn’t cause much discomfort the next day, Yang Jiu wanted to be safe and have Shu Nanxuan drink something to sober up.
Shu Nanxuan was already thirsty.
Feeling the moisture on her lips, she opened her mouth and drank the entire glass.
Yang Jiu smiled. She’s pretty obedient.
She settled Shu Nanxuan back down, tucked her in, turned off the main light, and left only a small nightlight on.
She washed the glass, filled it with plain water, and brought it back.
Nanxuan would likely get thirsty again during the night, so she needed to have water ready.
But when she entered the room with the water, the sight nearly made her spill it.
Perhaps because the earlier drink had roused Shu Nanxuan, making her feel uncomfortable in her clothes, she was now tugging at them.
“Don’t look at what’s improper.”
Yang Jiu wanted to leave the room, but she hadn’t set the water down yet.
She turned her head, trying to navigate by feel, but Shu Nanxuan was sleeping on the far side of the bed, meaning she had to walk around it.
By the time she reached the nightstand, Yang Jiu felt her throat burning.
Even with only dim lighting, that fleeting glance when she entered had let her catch sight of Shu Nanxuan’s impressive figure.
She intended to keep her eyes straight, set the water down, and leave, but human eyes naturally gravitate toward movement.
Yang Jiu’s steps as she left Shu Nanxuan’s room were flustered and disordered.
She even bumped into the bedframe at the corner, the pain nearly making her cry out.
