Failed to Pretend to Be an Alpha and Got Marked by the Enemy (ABO, GL) - Chapter 42
Chapter 42
Can Ming Zhu actually curse at people???
Yu Jing looked at Ming Zhu, whose expression suddenly softened, with a strange gaze. She lowered her head, glanced at the wrist that Ming Zhu had taken hold of, and blinked in confusion.
Noticing her gaze, Ming Zhu snapped out of it and quickly let go of her hand.
As her wrist was released, Yu Jing abruptly raised her head.
The warm, soft sensation vanished, and a fleeting, hard-to-grasp emotion passed through Ming Zhu’s heart. Meeting Yu Jing’s slightly dazed eyes, she had no time to sort it out. After a few seconds of silence, she regained her usual voice and said lightly, “Getting cursed at is quite a loss, so we can’t give him a chance to curse.”
So, is she cursing or not? Yu Jing tilted her head, a bit unable to keep up with her pace.
Ming Zhu’s gaze swept over Yu Jing’s lips, still striking even without makeup. She lowered her eyes, gave a soft cough, and said, “Those two makeup artists are still in the studio.”
Yu Jing’s fingers lightly touched the edge of her lips, instantly understanding. “I’ll go find the teacher to touch up my makeup.”
“Okay.”
The photography studio was a chaotic mess, with no one seeming to notice that they had stepped out for a bit. They pushed the door open and saw a crowd gathered around the shooting area, chattering about something.
Taking advantage of the lack of attention, Yu Jing found the makeup artist who had done her makeup earlier. Pointing at the faded lipstick on her lips, she flashed a charming smile and softly asked, “Teacher, I accidentally smudged my lipstick while drinking water. Can you touch it up for me?”
The makeup artist, hired by the magazine, had a decent temper and quite liked this polite and delicate little star. Without hesitation, she opened her makeup case and started the touch-up.
Yu Jing sat there while Ming Zhu quietly stood by, watching.
The focus of this makeup was the lips, with every “bloodstain” carefully designed. The makeup artist worked slowly, taking nearly ten minutes to finish.
Yu Jing slightly moved her stiff lips, letting out a breath of relief. Just then, the editor’s assistant came over, smiling at them. “Both teachers, we’re ready to shoot.”
They walked to the shooting area.
The miscellaneous crowd hurriedly parted to the sides, revealing a two-meter-wide bed in the center.
Yu Jing looked at the bed that had appeared out of nowhere, a subtle premonition rising in her heart. She instinctively glanced at Ming Zhu.
Ming Zhu happened to look back at her.
Surrounded by glaring magnesium lights, the intense exposure made Ming Zhu’s expression hard to read. Yu Jing met her gaze, unsure if it was the heat in Ming Zhu’s eyes or the overpowering lights, but she felt scorched. Awkwardly, she turned her head away, staring blankly at the big bed.
Despite doing some homework last night and knowing that their magazine’s same-s3x couple cover shoots were bold, Yu Jing never expected Lu Han to have a bed brought out…
What’s this about? Are they supposed to shoot a scene of them rolling in the sheets?!!
Three years since her debut, Yu Jing had never done a shoot like this… And with so many people watching, it felt so embarrassing!!!
Yu Jing was screaming inside but kept a calm facade. When Lu Han said, “Take off your shoes and get on the bed,” she even managed a professional smile and obediently said, “Okay.”
The bed was an antique-style carved iron frame, about a meter off the ground. Likely for easy transport, it only had a thin wooden board on top. When she sat down, it creaked—
Yu Jing got goosebumps, forcibly suppressing the unease in her heart and took off her sandals.
As she bent down, a pair of long, straight legs caught her eye.
Ming Zhu had arrived.
Yu Jing’s eyelids twitched uncontrollably.
Ming Zhu’s long legs were wrapped in smooth black trousers. When she sat, only her sexy ankles were visible. Her slender fingers gripped the edge of her high heels, swiftly removing them. With her legs together, she shifted onto the bed.
With the added weight, the bed’s creaking grew louder.
Yu Jing wasn’t sure if Ming Zhu regretted it, but shooting a couple cover on a bed for her first time was certainly thrilling.
Glancing at Lu Han standing with his arms crossed, Yu Jing recalled his commanding presence when cursing. Not daring to dawdle, she kicked off her shoes and climbed onto the bed.
On the white bedsheet, she and Ming Zhu sat on opposite sides, facing each other.
Lu Han approached with his DSLR, an unlit cigarette dangling from his mouth. He stood by the bed, sizing them up for a moment before directing their poses. “Ming Zhu, sit with your legs apart. Yu Jing, put one leg between hers.”
Lu Han spoke seriously, but for some reason, Yu Jing felt embarrassed. She sneaked a glance at Ming Zhu.
Ming Zhu looked completely calm, her gaze steady as she watched Yu Jing. Her long legs naturally parted. The casual, even somewhat unrefined action looked languidly beautiful when she did it.
Yu Jing’s heart skipped a beat.
Stay calm, stay calm, it’s just work, don’t panic.
Yu Jing mentally hyped herself up, adjusted her breathing, and carefully moved one leg between Ming Zhu’s, as Lu Han instructed.
Lu Han: “Get closer.”
Yu Jing inched her knee forward.
Lu Han: “Closer.”
Yu Jing: “…”
Just as their faces were about to touch, Lu Han finally called a stop.
Yu Jing didn’t dare breathe heavily. Looking at Ming Zhu’s stunning face so close, she suppressed the urge to pull back.
Ming Zhu lifted her eyelids and glanced at her.
The look was ambiguous, but Yu Jing had no mind to decipher it, only wanting to hurry up and shoot.
Once their positions were set, Lu Han began adjusting details. He had Yu Jing kneel between Ming Zhu’s legs and told Ming Zhu to bend one leg, pressing it tightly against the inside of Yu Jing’s thigh.
Yu Jing was wearing only leggings, covered by a white shirt, making it look like she wasn’t wearing pants. With her slim, pale legs exposed and rubbed by the textured fabric of Ming Zhu’s trousers, her thigh tingled, and her body froze.
Ming Zhu instantly sensed her tension, quickly glancing at the bare leg pressed against her before looking away. Her gaze returned to Yu Jing’s nervous eyes, and she whispered, “Relax.”
Yu Jing saw her lips move slightly and lost her calm.
She was a veteran who’d shot countless magazine covers—how could she show weakness in front of Ming Zhu, a “newbie”?!
She should be the one encouraging Ming Zhu, not the other way around!
Realizing their roles had reversed, Yu Jing quickly adjusted her mindset, relaxed her body, and flashed Ming Zhu an easy smile.
But the relaxation lasted less than a second.
Lu Han, dissatisfied, said, “That white shirt isn’t worn like that. Unbutton it halfway to show your back. Hurry up and undo it.”
The white shirt was Yu Jing’s.
How was she supposed to know what he meant? Buttoning it up only to undo it was such a hassle. She reached back to unbutton it but couldn’t reach. Instinctively, she looked for the editor’s assistant who had helped her earlier.
Lu Han, impatient, decided, “Ming Zhu, help her unbutton it.”
Yu Jing: “…”
Great, after avoiding it for so long, Ming Zhu still had to help.
She looked at Ming Zhu pleadingly.
Ming Zhu gave her a firm look.
Yu Jing sighed inwardly, lowered her hands, and slightly turned her body to make it easier for Ming Zhu.
The shirt was designed to be worn backward, with six buttons tightly fastened in the back. Before starting, Ming Zhu glanced at the girl, whose eyelashes trembled with nerves. Hesitating for half a second, her fingers landed on the top button.
Others might not understand, but Ming Zhu knew to keep things professional. Her hands moved steadily, but her eyes restrainedly looked elsewhere.
After undoing three buttons, the girl’s fair, jade-like back was exposed. Ming Zhu resisted looking and only said near her ear, “Done.”
The voice was so soft only they could hear it. The faint, familiar cool fragrance brushed her cheek, and the closeness made the emotionless word sound intimate, like a lover’s whisper.
Yu Jing’s ears burned, but her hair hid it. She calmly straightened her body, fingers tightly gripping the shirt’s hem, unsure where to look.
All her earlier mental preparation was for nothing.
Yu Jing knew it was just work, but shooting such an intimate couple cover for the first time was hard to adjust to.
With only a magnesium light behind her and no one else, Yu Jing still felt strange. The spots where Ming Zhu’s fingertips had brushed her back felt like they were burning.
Please, let this end soon, she silently prayed.
Lu Han adjusted his lens, saw the buttons were undone, and lowered his camera for one last adjustment before shooting. “Ming Zhu, hug Yu Jing.”
…
The bedsheet was pristine white.
Ming Zhu’s arms wrapped around the girl in front of her.
As expected, her slender waist fit perfectly in her hands. Through the fabric, she could almost feel the delicate texture beneath.
The girl’s frame was well-proportioned, her beautiful shoulder blades half-covered by the shirt, the other half slightly raised like a butterfly about to take flight. Ming Zhu’s cool fingertips grazed lightly, landing on the fourth button, gently pinching it.
As she was about to undo it, a delicate hand pushed her shoulder, forcing her to look down into a pair of starry, captivating eyes.
They were strikingly alluring peach-blossom eyes.
Yu Jing’s upturned eyes sparkled with a diamond, but its shine paled compared to the vivid charm of her gaze, filled with pure, innocent laughter.
Clean and pure, that look seemed to expose the filth in one’s heart, stifling any stirring desires in their cradle.
Ming Zhu’s throat tightened, her hand pausing on the button.
Yu Jing slightly rose, her hand on Ming Zhu’s left shoulder slipping through the thin strap exposed there. Like discovering something new and fun, her slender fingers toyed with the strap, lightly flicking it on her shoulder.
Ming Zhu tilted her head to look, indulging her playfulness without stopping her, though her gaze darkened slightly.
After a few flicks, the girl grew bored, but her smile didn’t fade. Laughing, a hint of mischief and cunning flashed in her eyes. She leaned forward, her warm breath landing on the bloody wound on Ming Zhu’s neck…
Ming Zhu’s hand on her waist tightened abruptly, her calm gaze shattered.
Her cool fingertips brushed the sensitive base of Yu Jing’s spine, making her tremble. The head buried in Ming Zhu’s neck lifted suddenly, her lips and mouth stained with vivid bl00d, strikingly seductive.
The girl’s lips parted slightly, saying nothing, but Ming Zhu’s mind flashed with inappropriate images of their ambiguous moment in the guesthouse bathroom—
The lights were too bright, and the camera’s flash stung her eyes. For a moment, Ming Zhu couldn’t tell reality from illusion. Staring at Yu Jing’s seductive red lips, her disrupted calm ignited a spark of desire in her eyes.
Ming Zhu’s fingers curled, pulling her closer.
The moment their chests collided, her heartbeat surged.
