Failed to Pretend to Be an Alpha and Got Marked by the Enemy (ABO, GL) - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
At the end of the dim corridor, a slight gap remained at the entrance to the public restroom, revealing two entangled figures inside—one tall, one short, one cold, one warm, pressed tightly together, soft murmurs occasionally spilling out—
“Your scent is so nice.”
“…”
The cold white light fell on Yu Jing’s cheeks, gradually flushed with red, and on her misty, water-vapor-filled eyes, fragile and helpless.
Her delicate brows knitted into a small “chuan” character from the pain, her mind and body completely out of control, only wanting to cling tightly to this sudden lifeline, lowering her posture, pleading softly, “Let me smell it again…”
The person she clung to had a frozen expression. Caught off guard by this sudden assault, those amber eyes were no longer calm, staring in shock at the woman wreaking havoc in her arms.
After a moment of stunned silence, Ming Zhu belatedly realized she should push her away.
In their entanglement, the unique scent that could soothe emotions and pain grew stronger, luring Yu Jing to press even closer, her soft hands using all her strength to hold tighter, her voice growing softer, almost like a whine: “Don’t go…”
Ming Zhu’s breathing stopped, her scalp tingling.
If she had known the person in the restroom was Yu Jing, she wouldn’t have come in, let alone asked who was inside.
Her graceful jawline tensed, Ming Zhu stood rigidly, suppressing her discomfort and forcing out two words through clenched teeth: “Let go.”
“No…” Yu Jing said stubbornly, not only refusing to let go but sniffing at her neck like a puppy.
Physical contact with a stranger made Ming Zhu feel uneasy, especially since the person clinging to her was Yu Jing.
Though she noticed Yu Jing’s strange state—her face flushed as if drunk, her body burning hot, her brows filled with pain, as if enduring some torment—
Ming Zhu had no mind to think too deeply. Her body’s instinctive rejection took over. She gritted her teeth, used a bit of force, and successfully pulled Yu Jing’s arms from around her neck, pushing her away lightly.
Caught off guard, Yu Jing was flung aside like a ball of cotton, her back hitting the door, which then slammed against the frame.
Bang—
Without that scent enveloping her, the heat in her body and the twisting pain in her abdomen surged back like venomous worms gnawing at her. Yu Jing writhed in agony, wanting to chase after that figure.
She took one step, but an intense wave of dizziness overwhelmed her, her vision went dark, and her body collapsed to one side.
Before losing consciousness, in a hazy blur, she felt someone catch her.
She wanted to see who was so kind, but her eyelids wouldn’t open, and she was dragged into endless darkness.
…
Midnight.
The night was dark and heavy, the stifling air filled with the faint smell of disinfectant.
The hospital was quiet with few people around. In front of the VIP ward, two people stared anxiously at the unconscious figure on the bed.
“Sigh—” Xiao Ye broke the silence with a sigh: “Sister Jiayu, if Jingjing wakes up soon, how should we explain this to her?”
Shen Jiayu lowered her head in thought, unsure how to respond.
Bored, Xiao Ye picked up the gene test report from the bedside table, frowning and muttering, “If Jingjing sees these results, she’ll probably break down.”
Shen Jiayu took the report, looked at it for a long time, and said, “She’s so strong-willed. I don’t know if she can handle this blow.”
Xiao Ye’s mind sparked an idea: “How about we don’t tell her yet?”
Shen Jiayu furrowed her brow, considering the feasibility of this plan.
“What are you… talking about?”
A slightly hoarse voice interrupted, and the two turned to look.
“Jingjing, you’re awake!” Seeing the person on the bed open her eyes, staring at them with confusion, Xiao Ye eagerly rushed over.
Yu Jing’s eyes still held the haze of just waking up. She looked at Shen Jiayu: “Sister Jiayu, when did you get here?”
Shen Jiayu discreetly tucked away the report and said, “Just now.”
Yu Jing let out a vague “mm,” her dark, bright eyes slowly moving, following her slender arm to the needle in the back of her right hand, then up the tube to the IV bag hanging above her. She paused.
She had fainted from pain and had no memory of what happened after. Uncertain, she asked, “Is this a hospital?”
Xiao Ye nodded vigorously, grabbing her hand without the needle and saying hurriedly, “I waited forever and didn’t see you come back, so I went to the restroom to find you and found you passed out from pain! You were too heavy for me to carry, so Ming Zhu helped get you to the car, and we brought you to the hospital. The doctor said your body is weak from just differentiating, so you need an IV and can’t…”
“Differentiating?!” Yu Jing caught those two words, ignoring everything else. She sat up abruptly but fell back, weak. She hissed, waited for the dizziness to pass, opened her eyes again, grabbed Xiao Ye’s hand, and asked urgently, “I differentiated? What’s my gene level? Is it top-tier?”
“…” Xiao Ye quickly covered her mouth, realizing her slip, and glanced nervously at Shen Jiayu.
Seeing Xiao Ye’s odd expression, Yu Jing looked at Shen Jiayu: “Is it inferior?”
Shen Jiayu gripped the report tightly, hesitated, and said, “No, it’s top-tier.”
Yu Jing’s pale face lit up instantly. She tried to sit up again but found herself too weak, confused: “If I’m a top-tier Alpha, why don’t I have any strength?”
Xiao Ye stayed silent, sneaking a glance at Shen Jiayu while helping her: What do we do?
Shen Jiayu caught the hint, slowly walked over, sat by the bed, and looked at Yu Jing’s expectant eyes, hesitating.
Yu Jing grew anxious: “Say something!”
Xiao Ye pretended to look elsewhere.
Shen Jiayu avoided her gaze, paused for a few seconds, and said, “You’re not an Alpha. You’re an Omega now.”
“Omega?” Yu Jing froze, then laughed, “Sister Jiayu, what kind of joke is that? I had a gene test at three. How could I be…”
Before she finished, Shen Jiayu handed her the unfolded post-differentiation report.
The results clearly stated her name and gene test outcome: “Secondary gender Omega, gene level top-tier.”
Yu Jing was struck as if by lightning.
How could this be!
Shen Jiayu watched her expression closely and said carefully, “We were shocked too, but you’ve indeed differentiated into an Omega. You’ve developed a gland on your neck, and…” She picked up an ultrasound image from the bedside table, pointing to a circular organ, “This is unique to Omegas. The doctor said you’re fully developed and can have babies in the future.”
Yu Jing’s mind exploded. She snatched the ultrasound, stared at it, and her vision went black, fainting again.
“Jingjing!” Xiao Ye cried out.
When she woke again, it was early morning.
Yu Jing’s unfocused eyes wandered, settling on the restroom door.
Xiao Ye asked cautiously, “Do you need to use the bathroom?”
Yu Jing shakily threw off the blanket and got out of bed.
Worried she’d fall, Xiao Ye held the IV bag in one hand and supported her with the other into the restroom.
There was a large mirror inside.
Staring at her haggard reflection, Yu Jing silently raised her hand and brushed aside the hair on her neck.
Xiao Ye, unsure what she was doing, asked, “Need help?”
Yu Jing didn’t answer. She turned, craning her neck, and clearly saw the delicate, pulsing mark on her pale neck. Her heart trembled.
This was an Omega’s gland.
Her legs buckled, nearly collapsing.
“Why did this happen?”
Before differentiating, she’d had multiple gene tests, all saying she’d be an Alpha. Why was she an Omega now?
“Jingjing, don’t be like this.” Xiao Ye wanted to comfort her but didn’t know how.
Later, Shen Jiayu brought in a doctor.
Yu Jing leaned weakly against the headboard, her gaze vacant, listening as the on-duty doctor explained: “Pre-differentiation tests aren’t always 100% accurate. Before you, I saw one case where someone tested as an Alpha but differentiated into an Omega. It’s extremely rare, only one in ten million. You don’t need to feel too down. That other Omega had it worse—her gland was only half-formed, and her reproductive organs were underdeveloped, practically half-disabled. But you’re very healthy.”
The doctor left after speaking.
Yu Jing wasn’t comforted. She gripped the ultrasound tightly, wanting to tear it apart.
Xiao Ye was frightened by her state.
Shen Jiayu sighed, patted her thin shoulder, and said, “You definitely can’t film tomorrow. I’ll ask the director for leave.”
At the word “film,” Yu Jing snapped awake: “Why not?”
“Because your body is weak now. Omegas are delicate, and you just differentiated. You need rest,” Shen Jiayu said matter-of-factly.
The word “Omega” was the last thing Yu Jing wanted to hear. Her eyes reddened as she stared stubbornly and said, “I’m not delicate at all. I don’t need leave.”
Shen Jiayu wanted to urge her to stop fighting, but meeting her gaze, she couldn’t say anything. She helped her lie down, tucked her in, and sighed softly, “Rest well tonight.”
How could Yu Jing sleep?
The shock of going from Alpha to Omega was too much. She didn’t even have the energy to recall the details before she fainted, lying motionless on her side, her heart dead.
Though she hated to admit it, she had indeed become an Omega.
She didn’t look down on Omegas; she just couldn’t accept this outcome.
Differentiation isn’t minor—most people need three to five days to recover. Yet Yu Jing insisted on filming. Shen Jiayu had to ask the doctor for solutions, who prescribed nutrient fluids to quickly boost her strength.
Under the drugs’ effects, Yu Jing drifted into a groggy sleep.
The next day.
At dawn, Xiao Ye handled the discharge, returning with a pile of Omega-specific suppressants, blockers, and gland-concealing patches, explaining their use in detail.
Yu Jing listened numbly, nodded numbly, refused their help, and dragged her weak body out of the ward.
They returned to the hotel.
It was early, the elevator empty.
After a night of IV fluids, Yu Jing’s strength returned, but her spirits didn’t. She leaned against the elevator wall like limp mud, staring blankly at the jumping numbers.
Ding—
The elevator doors opened, and she shuffled out slowly.
She walked slowly, and no one dared rush her.
Near the door, Shen Jiayu, walking ahead, suddenly stopped. Yu Jing, distracted, bumped into her back with a thud and swayed.
Xiao Ye quickly steadied her, saying worriedly, “Be careful.”
Yu Jing wasn’t used to being coddled and instinctively wanted to push her away.
Then she heard Shen Jiayu say, “Ming Zhu.”
Yu Jing’s body jolted, and she looked up.
In the quiet corridor, Ming Zhu stood silently, her calm eyes passing over Shen Jiayu’s face to Yu Jing behind her. Her thin lips pressed together, offering no response.
Her gaze held no emotion, but for some reason, it made Yu Jing feel guilty.
Did she notice something?
Panic surged in Yu Jing’s heart. She suddenly wanted to hide but had nowhere to go.
As her eyes darted, she spotted a light brown shirt hanging on Xiao Ye’s arm. Without thinking why Xiao Ye had an extra shirt, she grabbed it.
Xiao Ye froze.
In front of all three, Yu Jing did something even she couldn’t believe.
She shook out the shirt, draped it over her head, and completely blocked that piercing gaze that seemed to see through her secrets.
