Failed to Pretend to Be an Alpha and Got Marked by the Enemy (ABO, GL) - Chapter 76
Chapter 76
Ming Zhu stepped out of the bathroom with the first ray of morning light, opened the room’s door, and startled the little creature dozing by the doorway.
“Meow!” Little White, who had waited bitterly all night, finally saw its master emerge and perked up its head, letting out a joyful cry.
“Shh—” Ming Zhu glared at it and glanced back at the dark room.
Little White, puzzled, followed her gaze inside.
A cat’s eyes can see in the dark, and Little White saw a bare body lying on the large bed, unable to make out the face, but it quickly recognized it as its master’s little darling.
Was the little darling sick? Why wasn’t she awake yet? Why were there so many red marks on her body?!
Her neck, back, chest, lower abdomen, and even the inner thighs were covered with patches of red—so frightening! Master, you must save her quickly!!!
Little White, anxious, hugged Ming Zhu’s leg and meowed several times, but Ming Zhu remained unmoved, gently closed the door, bent down, and scooped it up.
The pajama fabric was smooth as silk, and Little White noticed a few red marks on its master’s chest and a small bite mark on her collarbone, which made it even more anxious.
Oh no, was the master sick too?!
Worried for its master, Little White eagerly tried to bite her finger, but as its nose touched her index finger, it unexpectedly caught a strange scent.
The master’s index finger was long and beautiful, with neatly trimmed nails, and the pale finger carried a sticky, slightly salty, slightly sweet scent with a faint trace of fragrance.
Not only the index finger, but the middle finger seemed to have this scent too.
Did the master sneak some food last night and forget to wash her hands?
Curiosity piqued, Little White wanted to taste the scent and extended its tongue to lick, but its master grabbed it by the neck.
“Perverted cat,” the master lightly tapped its head and placed it on the floor.
The scolded Little White drooped its head and meowed grievances at her.
Ming Zhu ignored it.
Sunlight flooded the living room, and Ming Zhu glanced at the electronic clock on the TV cabinet, noticed it was getting late, walked through the living room to the bathroom, washed her hands thoroughly, fed Little White, and then began tidying the house.
After cleaning the living room, she entered the bathroom, drained the murky water from the bathtub, cleaned it thoroughly, filled it with hot water, and returned to the bedroom.
She didn’t turn on the light, walked in the dark, and heard a soft, delicate voice: “Sister?”
Ming Zhu paused her steps, reached the bedside, turned on the bedside lamp, adjusted it to the dimmest setting, and leaned down to look at the person on the bed.
Yu Jing’s curly hair spread across the pillow, her face flushed like a peach blossom, her eyes watery, carrying seven parts confusion and three parts shyness as she looked at her, soft like a little kitten just waking up.
Ming Zhu couldn’t resist kissing her, brushed aside her bangs to reveal her smooth forehead, and whispered, “I filled the bathtub with hot water. Do you want to take another bath?”
Yu Jing closed her eyes and softly said, “Hmm.”
Ming Zhu wrapped her in the bedsheet, carried her to the bathroom, placed her in the bathtub, let her lean against her, carefully washed her clean, and carried her back to the bed.
Yu Jing, exhausted, fell asleep again.
Ming Zhu didn’t wake her, covered her with the blanket, quietly took a set of casual clothes from the wardrobe, picked up the phone from the nightstand, and turned off the light.
The weather today was exceptionally nice, with clear skies and no clouds.
Pedestrians grumbled under the scorching sun, but Ming Zhu felt the sun was somewhat gentle today, walked across the lawn with the warm breeze, and reached the top-floor VIP ward.
No one was guarding today, so she politely knocked on the door: “Knock, knock, knock—”
Lin Hongyi heard the knock and hurriedly urged the driver wiping his hands nearby, “Little Zhu is here! Go open the door quickly.”
The driver saw the old man’s wrinkled face beaming with a smile, nodded cheerfully, put down the towel, and ran to open the door: “Miss, you’re here.”
Ming Zhu didn’t like the title “Miss” at all, but she was in a good mood today, didn’t correct the driver, smiled, and nodded: “I came to see Grandfather.”
“The old chairman has been waiting for you for a while,” the driver stepped aside to let her in, tactfully left the room to give the grandfather and granddaughter space, and exited.
“Grandfather,” Ming Zhu looked at Lin Hongyi on the bed, “Did you eat?”
“I ate, I ate. I had a bowl of porridge, too full, and wanted to go downstairs for a walk, but the doctor wouldn’t let me,” Lin Hongyi complained to her like a child.
Ming Zhu glanced at his still-bandaged ankle and gently coaxed, “The doctor is just worried you’ll get hurt again. When you’re better, I’ll take you downstairs for a walk. The scenery down there is quite nice.”
Lin Hongyi brightened at her words and eagerly agreed.
Ming Zhu placed the carnations she bought into a vase, noticed a basin of water and a towel nearby, picked them up, and helped Lin Hongyi wipe his body.
Lin Hongyi didn’t want her to trouble herself, held her hand, and said, “Let Little Chen do these things. Don’t tire out my granddaughter. Sit down, sit down. Today I didn’t let them come, so we can chat longer.”
Ming Zhu soaked the towel in water, wrung it out, carefully wiped him, and said, “I can’t today.”
Lin Hongyi quickly asked, “Do you have something to do today?”
Ming Zhu’s lips curved slightly, she lowered her eyes with a smile, and said, “I sneaked out. I’m afraid my girlfriend will wake up and not find me, so I need to go back early.”
“Girlfriend?!” Lin Hongyi excitedly grabbed her hand, his cloudy eyes suddenly bright as pearls, his voice loud: “Little Zhu, you got a girlfriend? When did this happen? What’s her name? Where’s she from? Is she pretty? How old is she?”
A barrage of questions came, and Ming Zhu didn’t know which to answer first, smiled, and said calmly, “Her name is Yu Jing, a few years younger than me, very pretty. She’s not local, but she’s in B City now.”
Lin Hongyi slapped the bed and said, “Since she’s in B City, why didn’t you bring her to meet me?”
Ming Zhu, amused and exasperated by the old man’s eagerness, held him down: “We just got together not long ago. Meeting family suddenly, I’m afraid she won’t be used to it.”
Lin Hongyi thought about it and agreed, didn’t press the issue, but couldn’t help his curiosity: “Do you have a picture of her on your phone? Let me see what she looks like.”
Ming Zhu’s eyes flickered, took out her phone, fiddled with it for a while, found a photo, and handed it to him.
Lin Hongyi’s eyesight wasn’t great, put on his reading glasses, saw the photo clearly, and beamed with joy: “This girl is so pretty! She’s perfect with my Little Zhu!”
He was praising Yu Jing, but Ming Zhu was happier than if she’d been praised herself, her lips curving uncontrollably.
The old man squinted, his thin fingers swiped the screen, seemingly wanting to see more photos. Ming Zhu quickly took the phone back, pretended to be calm, and said, “That’s it, just one.”
In truth, there were more, but those were sneaky shots of Yu Jing’s sleeping face, though taken modestly, Ming Zhu selfishly didn’t want others to see her girlfriend’s captivating side.
Lin Hongyi didn’t push, knowing she had a girlfriend, saw the tenderness and joy she couldn’t hide when talking about her, and felt a mix of emotions.
His granddaughter had missed out on so much, he was old, couldn’t give her a better future, and hoped this girl named Yu Jing could make up for it.
“Go, go, go back to your girlfriend,” Lin Hongyi said with feigned annoyance, but his eyes and brows were full of smiles.
Ming Zhu wasn’t so heartless, finished wiping his body, peeled a banana for him to eat, chatted with him for a while, and then left.
A white Bentley drove out of the parking lot.
Moments later, a flashy red supercar quietly followed.
…
Yu Jing felt she had slept for a long time.
When she woke, it was pitch black, she reached to turn on the light, but before touching the switch, her sore arm fell heavily back to the bed.
She grabbed the bed’s edge and inched forward.
“Hiss—”
A small movement tugged her whole body, a certain spot swollen and numb, she didn’t dare move again, lay limp on the bed, her foggy brain slowly cleared, and indescribable images surfaced, belatedly realizing one thing: she and Ming Zhu had done it.
They’d only been together a few days, and they actually…
It was rocket speed.
Now Yu Jing deeply regretted it.
Not regretting doing it, but regretting last night, in her dazed passion, letting Ming Zhu do this and that, tossing about so long, now she didn’t even have the strength to get out of bed.
An Alpha in their susceptible period was truly terrifying!
Not turning on the light was fine, at least she didn’t have to worry about seeing the marks on her body…
Ming Zhu wasn’t in bed, and the spot beside her was cold. Yu Jing vaguely remembered Ming Zhu carrying her to bathe, then she fell asleep, and didn’t know where Ming Zhu had gone.
She tried calling out, “Sis…”
After one word, she didn’t dare continue, her throat dry and hoarse, hurting when she spoke.
Staying in bed wasn’t a solution, she was thirsty, and her stomach was hungry.
When some strength returned, Yu Jing slowly crawled up, her hands fumbled around, didn’t find clothes, only a bath towel, wrapped it around herself, and walked out barefoot.
There seemed to be noise outside the door.
Was it Ming Zhu?
Her legs uncomfortable, Yu Jing walked very slowly, opened the door, bright light hit her eyes, she squinted, not yet adjusted, and heard a strange, sweet voice: “You’re hurting me!”
…Why was someone else there?
“Get out,” Ming Zhu coldly snapped.
“No, no, no, hear me out first.”
Yu Jing opened her eyes and looked over.
At the boundary of the entryway and living room, two figures were tugging at each other, a strange woman hugging Ming Zhu’s waist.
Because Ming Zhu’s back was turned, Yu Jing couldn’t see her face, but instantly recognized the strange woman.
If she remembered correctly, this woman was the one photographed hugging Ming Zhu, making headlines together.
They’d only been intimate for a day, and Ming Zhu’s rumored girlfriend showed up, tugging at her—what was this about?
Yu Jing felt her vision darken, her weak body swayed, accidentally kicked the TV cabinet nearby, making a “bang.”
The two entangled figures looked over at the same time.
Ming Zhu saw her, the irritation in her eyes vanished, shook off the woman, strode over, placed both hands on her shoulders, her eyes and tone indescribably gentle: “You’re awake?”
Yu Jing’s mind was a mess, unable to tell how much of her gentleness was real or fake, her trembling fingers pointed at the woman who’d just hugged her, her throat choked, and she said bitterly, “Who is she?”
Ming Zhu looked at the woman, her brows slightly furrowed, and said flatly, “Lin Yi.”
So this was Lin Yi!
Yu Jing’s breath tightened, her gaze darted between Lin Yi and Ming Zhu.
Ming Zhu had said there was nothing between her and Lin Yi, but just now, she clearly saw Lin Yi hug Ming Zhu.
“You two…” Was there really nothing?
Before she could ask further, the ignored Lin Yi stepped forward and confessed, “I’m her little sister.”
