Fake Love with the Movie Queen - Chapter 32
That night, Gu Nanxuan couldn’t recall when she had returned to her lodgings. All she knew was that the “little game” Qiu Qing’an had mentioned left her heart itching with anticipation.
The moment they got back, she couldn’t wait to press her lips against Qiu Qing’an’s, biting and kissing, craving more.
Qiu Qing’an indulged her every move, and the two of them lost themselves in abandon until the early hours of the morning.
The next day, they were awakened by a knock at the door.
“Qing’an, Nanxuan, are you up yet?”
Gu Nanxuan opened her eyes, her gaze still hazy with sleep before quickly clearing.
Hearing the voice outside the courtyard, she turned to look at Qiu Qing’an lying beside her.
Qiu Qing’an’s eyes were closed, her long lashes motionless, as if she were still deep in slumber.
Gu Nanxuan leaned in and kissed her lips. “Someone’s calling for us.”
“Sounds like Ge Jiang and the others.”
Qiu Qing’an opened her eyes, her gaze alert—clearly, she had been awake for some time.
She returned the kiss. “Mm, I heard. Let’s get up.”
After dressing, Gu Nanxuan went to open the door.
Outside, Ge Jiang and Sikong Yuan greeted her with smiles. “Good morning~”
Gu Nanxuan gave a slight nod. “Good morning.”
She stepped aside, gesturing for them to come in.
Ge Jiang and Sikong Yuan followed her inside, stopping in the central living area.
Gu Nanxuan walked into the left room and murmured something to the person inside.
Then, Qiu Qing’an’s voice came through. “Give us a moment, we’ll be ready soon.”
About ten minutes later, the two emerged from the room after freshening up.
Sikong Yuan glanced at the room on the right, then back at the one they had just exited together.
Her expression froze. “You… stayed together?”
Qiu Qing’an smiled faintly in explanation. “No, the faucet in my bathroom was broken, so I came to Nanxuan’s to wash up.”
Sikong Yuan visibly relaxed. “Oh, I see.”
Beside her, Ge Jiang remained expressionless. “Let’s go find Ningyue and the others.”
They had woken up earlier than usual, and since the host hadn’t arrived yet, they decided to gather first.
The others had no objections, so they headed toward the courtyard where Zhu Ningyue and Jiang Mengxi were staying.
As they approached, they heard Zhu Ningyue’s voice—flustered and angry—from inside. “Get out!”
Seeing the gate unlocked, Gu Nanxuan pushed it open and walked in.
The other three followed, just in time to see Jiang Mengxi being roughly shoved out of the room by Zhu Ningyue.
“Uh… you two are also staying together?”
Sikong Yuan felt her brain short-circuiting.
Sure, they were on a dating show, but they weren’t actually dating yet, right?
Hearing her question, Jiang Mengxi’s gaze flickered briefly over Ge Jiang before she winked at Sikong Yuan with a sultry smile. “How did you know we slept together last night?”
“Stop spouting nonsense!” Zhu Ningyue rushed out of the room. “I slept alone last night!”
“Ningyue, how could you deny it after last night? My heart is broken.” Jiang Mengxi clutched her chest dramatically.
Seeing Ge Jiang present, Zhu Ningyue grew even more frantic. “I was alone! Why are you lying about me?”
Jiang Mengxi chuckled. “Alright, I’ll stop teasing you.”
“I just came to borrow some lipstick from Ningyue.”
She twirled the lipstick between her fingers a few times before revealing it in her hand.
Zhu Ningyue snatched it back immediately. “I already said I’m not lending it.”
Jiang Mengxi wasn’t bothered by the snatch. “But you haven’t even used it, have you?”
“Even if I haven’t, I’m still not lending it!”
“Fine.”
Jiang Mengxi’s gaze swept over the faces of Gu Nanxuan and the others before landing on Sikong Yuanbai.
Staring at her red-painted lips, she leaned in close. “Can I borrow your lipstick?”
Sikong Yuanbai, uncomfortable with the proximity, took a step back. “Sure.”
She pulled the lipstick from her bag and handed it over, even offering considerately, “Do you need a cotton swab too?”
Jiang Mengxi glanced at the lipstick in her hand, then looked up at her, her smile widening. “Of course.”
She took both the lipstick and the cotton swab.
As Jiang Mengxi returned to her room, Sikong Yuanbai turned to the others. “Don’t you think Mengxi seems different from last night?”
Gu Nanxuan showed no reaction.
Qiu Qing’an: “Maybe a little?”
Ge Jiang shrugged, indicating she had no idea.
Only Zhu Ningyue was vehement in her criticism. “She was totally faking it last night! Don’t be fooled by that act!”
Sikong Yuanbai asked curiously, “Ningyue, are you and Mengxi close?”
From Jiang Mengxi’s attempt to team up with her yesterday to the affectionate nickname, it didn’t seem like their first meeting.
“Not exactly close,” Zhu Ningyue said. “She’s my—”
Before she could finish, Jiang Mengxi’s voice cut in. “What bad things are you saying about me now?”
“Thanks,” she added casually.
“I wasn’t saying anything bad!” Zhu Ningyue’s tone turned sharp.
“Oh? Really?” Jiang Mengxi smirked.
“Then what was all that about ‘faking’ and ‘deceiving’?”
Zhu Ningyue shot back, “Was I wrong? You were totally putting on an act!”
“Everyone knows you love playing the innocent to trick people!”
“You know me so well.”
Jiang Mengxi pinched her cheek playfully, clearly amused.
“Seems like Yueyue still likes me a lot.”
“I do not!” Zhu Ningyue pushed her hand away. “Stop pinching my face!”
“Can’t help it—Yueyue’s just too cute.”
Zhu Ningyue puffed up angrily. “And stop calling me cute! I’m not a kid!”
Jiang Mengxi was about to retort when the host’s voice came from the doorway. “Oh, everyone’s here.”
Following her words, she appeared at the entrance with the cameraman in tow.
“Mind if we come in for some filming?”
She peeked inside, confirming everyone was properly dressed, then ushered the cameraman in.
Viewers in the live stream were treated to the sight of all six women gathered in the room and couldn’t help but marvel:
Wow, what a feast for the eyes. With so many beauties in front of me, I don’t even know which one to pick!
Hey, upstairs, how much fake wine have you had? You think you get to choose?
Exactly! Only kids pick—I’m an adult, I’ll take them all!
“Good morning.”
Sikong Yuanbai greeted the host and cameraman with a natural, poised smile.
The host responded warmly, “Good morning~”
Then she asked the group, “Has everyone had breakfast yet?”
“Nope,” Ge Jiang and Sikong Yuanbai answered in unison.
The host grinned. “Perfect. This morning, I’ll take you all to try some local specialties.”
Sikong Yuanbai asked curiously, “What kind of specialties?”
After all, this was the first time the host had organized a meal for them together.
The host wore a mysterious expression: “You’ll find out when you get there.”
Originally, everyone thought they might go to a restaurant or some specialty eatery.
Unexpectedly, the host led them to an ordinary little farmhouse.
A square courtyard, neat and tidy.
The production team must have arranged things with the owner beforehand.
An elderly woman, accompanied by her four- or five-year-old granddaughter, stood waiting at the entrance to greet them.
Seeing them approach, the woman warmly invited them inside: “Come in, everyone, take a seat. Breakfast will be ready soon.”
From her words, it seemed someone else was still busy in the kitchen.
Under the woman’s guidance, the six guests sat together around a round table.
The host and the cameraman took seats at another table, with recording equipment set up in the corner.
Once everyone was settled, the woman briskly returned to the kitchen to help.
Her little granddaughter stayed behind in the courtyard, curiously eyeing the group of visitors, occasionally glancing at the camera.
This was probably the first time she had seen so many guests in her home.
Qiu Qing’an noticed the little girl’s gaze and beckoned her over, asking gently, “Would you like to come sit and eat with us?”
The girl’s eyes lit up, and she happily ran over. “Can I really eat with you?”
Qiu Qing’an nodded with a smile. “Of course.”
Before she could move, Gu Nanxuan, understanding her intention, fetched a chair from the side and placed it between them.
Qiu Qing’an lifted the little girl onto the chair.
It had a backrest, so there was no need to worry about her falling.
“You sisters are so pretty, just like fairies from the heavens!”
The girl had a sweet tongue, showering them with compliments as soon as she sat down.
Everyone at the table was charmed by her.
When the elderly woman came out carrying breakfast and saw her granddaughter sitting at the table, she hurriedly tried to pull her down.
“Why are you sitting here? Come down now.”
“If you’re hungry, I’ll get you something to eat later.”
The little girl clung to the back of the chair, refusing to let go. “I want to eat with the sisters.”
“Let her stay here,” Qiu Qing’an spoke up for her.
Seeing that they didn’t mind, the woman relented, somewhat embarrassed. “I’m really sorry for the trouble.”
She studied their expressions, making sure no one was displeased, before returning to the kitchen.
Since the ingredients had been prepared in advance, all the dishes were served within about ten minutes.
There were rice noodles, pancakes, rice cakes, and various local specialties—over a dozen dishes in total.
G City, known for its picturesque landscapes, emphasized natural beauty.
The local cuisine leaned toward light and fresh flavors, with some sweet and sour notes.
Though Gu Nanxuan and Qiu Qing’an usually preferred lighter meals, they rarely encountered such a variety of dishes.
Thinking the other might enjoy them, Gu Nanxuan picked out some food and placed it in Qiu Qing’an’s bowl.
She even carefully removed some of the clinging spices.
Qiu Qing’an, as usual, picked it up and tasted it without hesitation.
“Sisters, are you good friends?”
The little girl sitting between them blinked her innocent eyes, watching their natural, intimate gestures.
In her world, apart from family, only good friends would do such things for each other.
Qiu Qing’an paused her chopsticks and answered softly, “Yes, we’re good friends.”
“Then I won’t sit between you anymore.”
The little girl climbed down from her chair.
“Big sister, I want to switch seats with you.”
Qiu Qing’an asked her, “Why do you want to switch seats?”
“Because you’re good friends!” the little girl replied. “Good friends should sit together!”
Qiu Qing’an was a little surprised by her reasoning, but she still stood up and switched seats with her.
Gu Nanxuan watched as she sat down beside her and casually smoothed out the slightly wrinkled hem of her dress.
Live chat:
How come I never noticed before that Gu Nanxuan is so considerate?
Right? It feels like the actress is really close with her.
Wasn’t the actress just being polite earlier?
Seeing that all the dishes had been served, the host began introducing the flavors and preparation methods of each dish to everyone.
Not only were the descriptions very detailed, but they also highlighted the unique features of each dish—almost as if they were specifically there to promote the place.
Later, Gu Nanxuan learned from Zhu Ningyue that the production team had indeed intended to help promote the rural-style restaurant run by the elderly couple.
The husband had a lame leg and couldn’t work outside, so he stayed home doing lighter chores.
Their son and daughter-in-law had passed away in an accident, leaving only their little granddaughter to keep them company.
So, the couple decided to open a small restaurant using their culinary skills.
But they were reserved and had limited education, so they didn’t know how to attract customers or market their business.
Very few people came to eat at their restaurant, and they barely made any money.
The host must have stumbled upon them by chance, which was why they decided to have breakfast there.
The elderly couple fully understood the benefits the show would bring them, so they put their utmost sincerity into preparing the meal.
Every dish was their specialty, made with the freshest and finest ingredients.
After breakfast, they even gifted the group a large bag of homegrown fruits and some dried goods.
Carrying their heartfelt gifts, the group returned to the scenic area.
Zhu Ningyue, walking beside Gu Nanxuan, praised, “Their food really is delicious.”
Gu Nanxuan glanced at her. “What, planning to invest?”
“Not a bad idea.”
Inspired by her words, Zhu Ningyue took out her phone and started arranging for an investment proposal.
Seeing her texting, Gu Nanxuan turned and walked over to Qiu Qing’an, asking softly, “Any updates from Sister Zhou?”
It had been several days since the promised clarification was mentioned, but there had been no news.
Though she wasn’t in a hurry, she was still a little worried.
After all, until the clarification was made, she couldn’t act too close to Qiu Qing’an—and it might negatively affect her.
“Should be within the next couple of days, right?” Qiu Qing’an was also keeping an eye on the matter.
As soon as she finished speaking, Zhu Ningyue, who happened to be on her phone, received a notification: #Gu Nanxuan Clarification#
She quickly showed Gu Nanxuan her phone. “Your clarification video is out!”
Viewers in the live chat, hearing this, immediately opened Weibo to search for the video.
Soon, the clarification video tagged with #Gu Nanxuan#Â trended on the hot search list.
