Fake Love with the Movie Queen - Chapter 4
The moment the host made the announcement, the live-stream audience erupted in excitement:
Did I hear that right? Sharing the same room? Starting off this strong right out the gate?
No warning at all, hahaha, so thrilling—but I love it.
Gu Nanxian’s expression remained indifferent, as if she wasn’t the least bit interested.
Qiu Qing’an’s gentle smile didn’t waver either, showing no sign of resistance to the arrangement.
Only her fans in the live chat were heartbroken on her behalf:
My poor award-winning actress, wuwuwu…
What if Gu Nanxian bullies her? No way, we can’t let that villain share a room with our queen!
Production team, open another room, please!
After her initial surprise, Zhu Ningyue was overjoyed. This was like being handed a pillow the moment she felt sleepy—an opportunity falling right into her lap.
She stole a glance at Ge Jiang’s reaction.
Ge Jiang was also taken aback by the arrangement, but she quickly realized it was likely the production team’s ploy to stir up discussion. Soon, she regained her composure.
Yu Qianxue glanced around at the others. Seeing no objections, she remained silent as well.
Only Sikong Yuan’s face flickered with discomfort, as if she wasn’t fond of the idea.
After observing the guests’ reactions, the host continued, “If no one has any objections, shall we all take a look at your rooms?”
The rooms were on the second floor of the villa. The host pushed open one of the doors, leading the guests—and the live audience—on a tour of the interior.
Inside were two beds, a half-wall wardrobe on the inner side, and an ensuite bathroom.
Overall, it resembled a standard dormitory setup.
Seeing this, Ge Jiang, Yu Qianxue, and Sikong Yuan all exhaled slightly in relief.
Zhu Ningyue felt a twinge of disappointment.
Gu Nanxian frowned in dissatisfaction—the beds looked so small she might roll right off if she turned over.
Qiu Qing’an, out of the camera’s view, subtly squeezed her hand.
Scared me to death—I thought they’d be sharing the same bed!
I’d already imagined an entire steamy novel, and this is what we get?
Opinions among the audience varied, but most approved of the arrangement.
After all, the guests barely knew each other, and fans naturally wanted to preserve their idols’ “purity.”
The three rooms were similarly laid out—two facing south, one facing north.
In the end, Gu Nanxian and Qiu Qing’an chose the north-facing room, while Ge Jiang and Zhu Ningyue took the one across from them. Yu Qianxue and Sikong Yuan settled in the room slightly farther away.
The six of them went downstairs to retrieve their luggage.
“Nanxian, what’s in that suitcase?” Yu Qianxue couldn’t help but ask when she saw the massive luggage Gu Nanxian was carrying.
The others turned their attention to the black suitcase being wheeled into the elevator—towering over the others like a behemoth.
Thankfully, the villa had an elevator; hauling it upstairs would’ve been a nightmare otherwise.
“Clothes. What else?” Gu Nanxian replied flatly.
Having already experienced her aloofness, Yu Qianxue seemed immune now and pressed on, “Wow, you brought that many outfits?”
Gu Nanxian didn’t feel like elaborating and simply hummed in response.
The live chat immediately lit up again with comments…
“Blind student, I think I’ve spotted another detail.”
“What is it? Spill it!”
“Did you guys notice that Actress Qiu and Gu Nanxuan have the same suitcase?”
As soon as this was pointed out, the audience turned their attention to the suitcases placed side by side in the elevator.
Qiu Qing’an’s suitcase was small and inconspicuous among the others, mostly hidden from view.
But from the visible part, it was clear that it was the same color—even the same style—as Gu Nanxuan’s massive suitcase.
“I suddenly have a bad feeling about this.”
“Take those damn feelings and shove them back where they came from!”
“Aren’t there just too many coincidences?”
“Could they actually know each other?”
The live chat quickly turned into a Sherlock Holmes-style discussion.
Soon, someone who had dug through Gu Nanxuan and Qiu Qing’an’s social media accounts returned with a report:
“They don’t even follow each other. How could they possibly know each other?”
Qiu Qing’an followed quite a few people—even those she had only met a couple of times on shows.
As for Gu Nanxuan, her following count was zero. She didn’t follow a single person.
Everyone collectively breathed a sigh of relief.
Those who had made earlier bets doubled down, refusing to back down:
“If they actually know each other, I’ll not only wash my hair upside down, but I’ll also livestream eating sh1t!”
“That’s hardcore. Screenshotting this for posterity.”
Ding—the elevator doors opened, and the six of them dispersed, wheeling their suitcases back to their rooms.
The moment the door closed, Gu Nanxuan couldn’t help but turn around and pull Qiu Qing’an into a kiss.
Their soft lips pressed together, and Gu Nanxuan nipped at hers in frustration. “You didn’t reply to any of my messages on the way here.”
Qiu Qing’an glanced behind her. “There’s a camera over there.”
“!” Gu Nanxuan’s heart skipped a beat as she whipped her head around.
Sure enough, a fixed camera was set up in the corner of the room, its lens pointed directly at them.
Sh1t. Did they just give themselves away?
Noticing her panic, Qiu Qing’an chuckled softly. “Relax, it’s not turned on yet.”
Realizing she’d been teased, Gu Nanxuan pouted unhappily.
“I was just trying to get here as fast as I could. Next time, I’ll reply to you right away, okay?” Qiu Qing’an coaxed gently, seeing her cold expression.
Gu Nanxuan didn’t answer. Instead, she walked over to the camera, checking its switch and power cord—confirming it really wasn’t on.
To preserve the guests’ privacy, the crew didn’t film while they were unpacking.
Right now, the livestream only showed the hallway outside.
Seeing that Gu Nanxuan wasn’t letting it go, Qiu Qing’an opened her phone and checked her messages.
At the top of her list, a contact labeled “Baby” had nearly 99+ unread notifications.
She scrolled all the way to the beginning.
The first message was from when Gu Nanxuan had arrived at the villa:
<I’m here. When are you coming?>
A little later, she sent another:
<Miss you so much~>
Then came her commentary as others arrived:
<Someone just got here. Her outfit is so flashy—I don’t like it.>
<I saw Zhu Ningyue. Why is she here too?>
…
Message after message, peppered with stickers, adding up to dozens in total.
After reading them, Qiu Qing’an understood just how impatient Gu Nanxuan had been waiting in the villa.
Meanwhile, from the moment she got in the car until she arrived on set, she hadn’t once glanced at her phone.
No wonder Gu Nanxuan was so upset.
Qiu Qing’an, filled with guilt, took Gu Nanxuan’s hand and sat by the bed. “Want to open the gift I brought you?”
Today’s schedule had been a last-minute addition. She had originally planned to decline, but upon seeing the other party’s name, she had no choice but to attend.
As compensation, she rushed to an auction and secured a pair of earrings at the highest bid as an apology gift.
As for everyone else, she had simply left it to her manager to pick up something from the mall.
Gu Nanxuan unwrapped the gift box, her eyes lighting up at the sight of the diamond-studded, wing-shaped earrings nestled inside.
Yet, she still remarked, “Why give me earrings? I have plenty at home.”
“Check the certificate underneath,” Qiu Qing’an said, as if anticipating her reaction, pulling out a thin card from the bottom and handing it to her.
Gu Nanxuan took the card, which detailed the earrings’ information alongside a handwritten signature: Bai Qiuyu.
The ink was fresh—likely signed just today.
“How did you get Teacher Bai’s signature?” Gu Nanxuan’s expression turned to astonishment, even more delighted than when she first saw the earrings. “Are these earrings her work?”
Bai Qiuyu was a top-tier jewelry designer in the country, having won numerous international awards.
Gu Nanxuan had always admired her, but her pieces were only available at auctions—not only exorbitantly priced but also extremely limited in quantity. They were often snapped up instantly at top bids.
Bai Qiuyu had seemingly hit a creative block in recent years, with no new works appearing.
Yet, Qiu Qing’an had not only managed to acquire a piece but also secured her autograph.
“I heard she had a new piece going to auction recently, so I had someone keep an eye out,” Qiu Qing’an said, watching her expression soften before pressing a kiss to her lips. “Do you like it?”
Gu Nanxuan wrapped her arms around her neck, deepening the kiss before pulling away. “I do.”
How could she not like something Qiu Qing’an gave her?
Even if it were just a simple pair of earrings, she would cherish it.
Seeing how quickly she had been appeased, Qiu Qing’an chuckled. “Let’s finish packing first.”
They had already lingered too long—the production team would surely come knocking soon, and the live-stream audience would grow restless without seeing them.
With that, she walked over and opened Gu Nanxuan’s suitcase.
The oversized luggage contained both of their clothes. Before arriving on set, they had packed together, so everything was already mixed.
As for Qiu Qing’an’s own suitcase, half of it held items she had left at the company, while the other half was reserved for gifts.
“What if we don’t get assigned the same room?” Gu Nanxuan asked as she hung clothes in the wardrobe.
Qiu Qing’an, arranging toiletries in the bathroom, replied, “Then you can sneak over to me at night.”
Gu Nanxuan frowned slightly. “Why should I be the one to go to you? Why not the other way around?”
Qiu Qing’an smirked knowingly. “Because you’d be the first to cave.”
Gu Nanxuan huffed. “As if you could hold out either.”
Qiu Qing’an finished organizing and walked over to kiss her again. “Which is why I won’t let us be separated.”
If she didn’t even have that much confidence, how could she feel at ease bringing Gu Nanxuan onto a live-streamed dating show with her?
A flicker of joy stirred in Gu Nanxuan’s heart. “Aren’t you afraid our relationship might get exposed?”
“I never intended to hide our relationship. It was you who didn’t want to make it public,” Qiu Qing’an said helplessly.
Gu Nanxuan hugged her tightly, burying her head in the crook of her neck. “Because I want you to always be the brightest star in the audience’s eyes.”
