Fell in Love with the Crazy Young Lady - Chapter 10
Her beautiful bodyguard seemed very nervous, not only tense in body, but also in voice: “I don’t know.”
She curved her lips: “Don’t you find it amazing?”
Pressed against the other’s back, wrapping her cool hands, Yang Zhao looked at the target: “It can both focus one’s attention and empty one’s mind.”
Hua Man couldn’t feel these two benefits at all.
Being embraced so intimately by the young miss, she couldn’t concentrate at all, nor could she empty her mind.
Whoosh—
The arrow was released.
Although the young miss was guiding her hands, Hua Man’s hands kept trembling uncontrollably. The arrow flew off course, landing in the black area.
It formed a stark contrast with the cluster of arrows in the yellow bullseye.
Hua Man’s face flushed, but her heart remained calm. Looking at that out-of-place arrow, she was about to speak when the young miss started clapping.
“Very good, you didn’t miss the target.”
The young miss then looked around.
Soon, everyone present started applauding.
Hua Man: “…”
God, she was so embarrassed she wanted to dig a hole in the ground.
But clearly, the young miss didn’t see any problem with this, her expression remaining very calm.
At this moment, Yu Shan walked over with a phone.
Hua Man didn’t know what the person on the other end said, but she keenly sensed the atmosphere around the young miss cool slightly, even though she still wore a smile.
After the call ended, the young miss tossed the phone back to Yu Shan.
Quietly looking at the bullseye for a moment, she stepped back and turned to Hua Man: “Can you do it yourself?”
Hua Man nodded randomly.
Feeling the young miss’s footsteps moving away, she suddenly came to her senses and quickly followed.
“Where are you going?” Hua Man lowered her head, looking at the young miss’s hands.
The protective gear had been partially removed. She looked like she was about to leave.
“What?” Yang Zhao raised an eyebrow, deliberately teasing her, “So clingy?”
Hua Man’s eyes darkened: “I’m your bodyguard, the close-protection kind. Please be clear about my role.”
The smile faded from Yang Zhao’s face.
“How dare you speak to the young miss like that?” Yu Shan angrily rebuked, “The young miss can do whatever she wants. Are you the boss or is the young miss the boss?! You’re the one who needs to be clear about your position!”
Yang Zhao didn’t stop Yu Shan.
From a certain perspective, Yu Shan was her mouthpiece.
But Yu Shan’s words were a bit too blunt. She gently placated: “Manman, be good.”
Hua Man frowned.
Clearly it was these people who hadn’t recognized their own positions, right?
Before she could speak, she saw the young miss seemingly helplessly explain to her: “There are reasons for bringing you, and naturally reasons for not bringing you. Manman, don’t put me in a difficult position.”
Just as she was about to speak, she unexpectedly heard the young miss say: “How about I give you a day off today?”
Almost without hesitation, Hua Man immediately nodded: “Okay.”
Her response was so quick that Yang Zhao subtly frowned, somewhat displeased.
But she did have matters to attend to, so she didn’t press the issue. She just raised her hand and roughly ruffled Hua Man’s hair.
This gesture was a bit too intimate. Even though Hua Man quickly dodged after realizing, she had still been patted on the head, and in front of everyone.
The meaningful gazes around them became even more unrestrained after the young miss left.
Hua Man left indifferently.
No matter what, she had finally gotten her first day off.
Hua Man used this day off to return to her rented apartment.
The school had asked them to move out of the dorms when they started their internships. Hua Man had rented a two-bedroom apartment with someone near her previous internship company.
She came back this time intending to tidy up her room and bring some things back to the Yang family home.
But unexpectedly, as soon as she opened the door, she was nearly nauseated by the smell inside.
It was the stench of spoiled food mixed with a strong alcohol odor.
Hua Man stood at the doorway, looking at the garbage strewn all over the living room. She expressionlessly looked towards the open door of that room.
“Are you a resident here?”
Someone suddenly spoke behind her.
Hua Man turned around. It was a middle-aged woman holding the hand of a little girl about three years old.
“Could you please keep it down at night? The noise is so bad we can’t rest properly.”
Hua Man: “I’m sorry, I haven’t been living here recently, but I’ll pass your message to my roommate.”
With that, she stepped inside.
She had always known her roommate disliked cleaning, but during the time they lived together, although her roommate didn’t like to clean, she never left the common areas in such a mess.
After silently looking at the chaos in the living room for a few seconds, she turned and walked towards her roommate’s room.
The door wasn’t closed. The small room could be seen entirely at a glance.
Her roommate was currently sprawled face-down on the bed, with several beer bottles by the bedside.
Standing at the doorway, Hua Man called her name: “Lin Wanyi.”
There was no response.
After calling several times with no response, Hua Man had to suppress her emotions and return to her own room.
Compared to outside, her room was like a paradise.
The location was actually quite good, close to many companies and a street food area. The rent was also cheap. Plus she had a lot of stuff here, so Hua Man had never thought about moving out before.
But now she was hesitant.
After careful consideration, she decided to talk to Lin Wanyi first. If she didn’t cooperate, then she would consider moving out.
But she didn’t expect to wait all afternoon.
Seeing that it was almost dark, Hua Man couldn’t help but stand at Lin Wanyi’s door again.
“Lin Wanyi.” Her tone deepened, her volume increasing noticeably.
Seeing no response, she was silent for a few seconds, then said coldly: “If you still don’t respond, I’m coming in myself.”
As soon as she finished speaking, the person on the bed turned over. Red, swollen eyes stared at her lifelessly: “So hypocritical. If you want to come in, just come in. Why pretend to greet me?”
The original anger froze upon seeing the other’s excessively swollen eyes. Hua Man was silent for a moment, then asked: “What’s wrong?”
“I’ll deal with the mess outside later. Don’t bother me.”
Lin Wanyi said as she turned her head back, continuing to lie face-down on the bed.
Hua Man turned to leave, but after a few steps, she couldn’t help but stop.
When she first started her internship, her income was very low. Plus she had to cover expenses for Hua Xi. When the landlord came to collect rent in the second month, she couldn’t even pay it.
Originally she was struggling with whether to ask her mom for help, but unexpectedly Lin Wanyi noticed her difficulty and took the initiative to pay the rent for her.
So even though Lin Wanyi didn’t like cleaning later, she didn’t say much.
Looking at the mess outside, Hua Man closed her eyes, but still put on gloves and silently started cleaning.
After cleaning for just a few minutes, Lin Wanyi came out of her room: “What are you doing?! I said I’d clean it myself! Stop acting like some great person!”
As she spoke, she snatched the garbage bag from Hua Man’s hands, roughly stuffing all the trash from the table into the bag.
Seeing she no longer looked half-dead like before, Hua Man took off her gloves and washed her hands thoroughly. Then she picked up her own things.
“I ordered takeout for you earlier, left your phone number. Remember to pick it up later.” At the door, Hua Man turned to look at Lin Wanyi’s pale, sullen face. “The neighbors said it’s very noisy at night. There are children who need to rest. Please be mindful.”
Lin Wanyi’s movements of clearing garbage stopped.
Hua Man didn’t say anything more and closed the door.
She had conveyed what needed to be said. If Lin Wanyi still insisted on doing as she pleased, there was nothing more she could do.
Now she had to worry about how to get back to the Yang family home.
It was quite far from here to the Yang home. Taking a taxi directly would cost a three-digit fare, which was too extravagant for Hua Man. So she had originally planned to take the bus part of the way.
Unfortunately, she had been delayed by Lin Wanyi and missed the last bus.
It seemed she could only take a taxi…
Just as this thought arose, her phone vibrated – an unknown local number calling.
As soon as she answered, the young miss’s displeased voice came through: “Where are you?”
“I’m outside.” Hua Man tensed up. “Is there an emergency? Do I need to come right away?”
Yang Zhao impatiently repeated: “Where are you?”
After getting the answer, her expression softened slightly: “Wait there.”
With that, she hung up the phone and told the driver the address, saying concisely: “Get there as fast as possible.”
