Fell in Love with the Crazy Young Lady - Chapter 12
Yang Zhao didn’t soak in the bath for too long. It was getting late and already her mealtime. She hated feeling hungry. So she quickly got out of the bath.
The sound of splashing water made Hua Man instinctively lower her gaze.
After waiting a moment without hearing any movement, she couldn’t help but look up again.
Realizing the young miss was staring at her expressionlessly, she was slightly stunned and immediately asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Why aren’t you coming over to help dry me off? What are you standing there dazed for? Are you made of wood?” Yang Zhao expressed her displeasure unhappily.
This bodyguard of hers may be pretty and have a nice voice, but she was really too wooden, always like a block of wood.
“Me?” Hua Man unconsciously held her breath.
She had seen servants help the young miss get dressed many times, and had even silently criticized it many times, thinking this young miss was truly delicate if even a 3-year-old knows how to dress themselves but she still needs servants to help her.
But she never imagined that one day she would become the person helping the young miss get dressed.
She was so shocked that she overlooked the awkwardness of the young miss standing before her wearing only a swimsuit.
“Is there anyone else here?” Yang Zhao raised an eyebrow.
As she spoke, she spread her arms impatiently urging, “Hurry up.”
Hua Man reluctantly stepped forward.
As the distance between them closed, every inch of the young miss’s skin became clearer. Her milky white delicate skin had a pink tinge from soaking in the water, every part of her beautiful like an exquisite work of art.
Taking a deep breath, she steadied herself and tried to focus solely on wiping the water droplets from her body.
The young miss’s skin was delicate. Even though she was very gentle, the areas she wiped still turned red.
Yang Zhao, who had been staring at her the whole time, couldn’t help but speak up: “You’re just drying me off, why do you look like you’re marching off to your death on a battlefield?”
Just as Hua Man was about to speak, the young miss’s finger suddenly pressed against her lips.
“Shut up. I don’t want to hear the word ‘no’ again.”
Hua Man: “…”
Fine, she had been predicted.
The finger pressing on her lips was quickly withdrawn. Then the towel was snatched from her hand as the young miss impatiently waved her away: “Go wait outside.”
Hua Man breathed a sigh of relief.
Thankfully the young miss didn’t have the habit of changing clothes in front of others.
When the young miss came out of the room, she had changed into pajamas matching what Hua Man was wearing.
Thinking of the five-figure price tag, Hua Man’s heart tightened. This should be covered by work expenses, right?
“Let’s go get something to eat to fill our stomachs,” Yang Zhao said as she walked out.
The restaurant was on the second floor. This place wasn’t somewhere ordinary people could afford, so it wasn’t very crowded. Yang Zhao found a seat and sat down. When she looked up and saw Hua Man about to walk behind her again, she reached out and grabbed her: “Sit down.”
“What danger could there be here?” she said dismissively. “Right now I don’t need a bodyguard, I need someone to eat with.”
As she spoke, she took the tablet handed over by the waiter and looked down at the menu items.
The restaurant here couldn’t compare to the chef at her home, but it would have to do for now to make do.
After quickly ordering what she wanted to eat, she suddenly realized Hua Man hadn’t ordered anything yet. She looked up at Hua Man, who was staring blankly at the tablet, and said discontentedly: “Why are you spacing out again?”
Hua Man took a deep breath: “Is this covered by work expenses?”
Yang Zhao: “…”
After a moment of silence, she said with a dark expression: “Do I look like someone that petty?”
She actually didn’t, but Hua Man had been burned once before by the housekeeper. If it wasn’t for the young miss’s intervention, she estimated she’d have to work like a spy. So she still felt the need to confirm.
After all, the food here was unimaginably expensive to her.
“Order,” Yang Zhao said through gritted teeth. “Order without hesitation.”
With the young miss’s words, Hua Man felt reassured.
The cheapest dishes here still cost four figures, and the young miss seemed to have already ordered quite a bit. Hua Man deliberated for a while before finally ordering a modest steak for herself.
She had eaten out with the young miss once before, so at least she knew the dining etiquette and wouldn’t embarrass herself.
After quickly placing her order, she handed the tablet back to the waiter and said to the young miss: “I’ve ordered.”
Seeing that Hua Man had only ordered one steak, Yang Zhao became unhappy and simply doubled everything she had ordered for herself.
It would take some time for the food to arrive. Yang Zhao looked at Hua Man thoughtfully: “Do you like your current job?”
When the boss asks this kind of question, of course Hua Man wouldn’t be stupid enough to say she didn’t like it. She nodded.
“You like it?” Yang Zhao raised an eyebrow. “Why?”
“The salary is high,” Hua Man replied without hesitation.
“What else?”
She seemed to want to get some kind of answer from her. Hua Man pondered for a moment, hesitating whether to go against her true feelings and blatantly flatter her boss.
“It gives me many new experiences,” she finally said, not too obviously flattering. She looked up and met the young miss’s eyes. “Like right now.”
Although she didn’t get the answer she wanted, Yang Zhao was still satisfied with these responses: “By my side, I can give you even more new experiences.”
She smiled as she warned: “So don’t make me angry.”
The “angry” she spoke of clearly didn’t mean the literal meaning. Hua Man couldn’t help but ask: “Why do you think I would betray you?”
Hua Man’s bluntness caught Yang Zhao off guard.
In the next moment, Hua Man continued: “You pay a high salary and have more power than Madam and the others. I have no reason to choose them.”
At this point, Hua Man frowned again: “And I hate being schemed against most of all.”
When Qin Fangqin schemed against her, she had already lost Hua Man’s trust.
The young miss suddenly leaned towards her and reached out her hand. Hua Man instinctively leaned back.
Yang Zhao paused, then said in a tone that brooked no refusal: “Don’t move.”
Hua Man could only freeze in place.
The young miss’s hand touched her face. Just as Hua Man’s heart leapt, her face suddenly stung with pain.
“Ouch—”
She struggled a couple times but couldn’t save her face.
The young miss mercilessly pinched her cheek: “You’re always frowning. In this kind of situation, what you should do is make the person you’re unhappy with frown.”
Hua Man wanted to speak but held back.
She wished she could, but she wasn’t the young miss. Without money or power, how could she have the ability to make someone like Qin Fangqin frown?
“Just wait patiently,” Yang Zhao released her, looking satisfied at the red mark she had left on that usually expressionless face. “I’ll take you to get revenge another day.”
Afraid she would cause more trouble, Hua Man quickly said: “You’ve already gotten revenge for me.”
Yang Zhao raised an eyebrow.
“That compensation payment and apology,” Hua Man reminded her, seeing she had completely forgotten what she had done.
“Just that?” Yang Zhao clicked her tongue. “Are you so easily appeased?”
“That amount of money may be insignificant to you, but it’s a huge sum for me.”
At least it had solved her urgent problem, allowing Hua Xi to stay comfortably in the nursing home.
And if it wasn’t for the young miss, she might never have gotten an apology from Qin Fangqin in her lifetime, even if it wasn’t sincere.
But the young miss was clearly unsatisfied with this answer.
“You’re too kind,” Yang Zhao sighed. “Being soft on your enemies is not a good thing.”
–
The young miss had ordered too much food. Although the portions weren’t large, Hua Man still almost ate too much.
As for the taste, Hua Man didn’t think it was that delicious, not as good as hot pot or spicy noodles.
The young miss was clearly unsatisfied with the food here too, putting down her utensils after just a few bites.
“You like it?” Seeing Hua Man had finished most of it, Yang Zhao couldn’t help but ask.
Hua Man shook her head: “I don’t want to waste it.”
After all, what she ate was equivalent to several months of her salary.
Yang Zhao was taken aback by her answer and tried to correct this mistaken thinking: “We spend money to enjoy ourselves, not to make ourselves suffer.”
Hua Man said nothing, just silently finished her portion.
Yang Zhao held back her frustration, feeling somewhat stifled.
Actually from Hua Man’s perspective, there was nothing wrong with what she did, but Yang Zhao was just unhappy about it.
When she was unhappy, no one else could be comfortable either.
“I want dessert from the buffet section. Go get it for me.”
She deliberately ordered Hua Man around, but when Hua Man really did obediently take a tray to get dessert for her, she seemed to get even angrier.
Realizing this, Yang Zhao raised her hand to rub her brow.
After waiting a while, Hua Man still hadn’t returned, even though she was just supposed to get some dessert.
Logically, Hua Man should be worried about leaving her alone and return quickly. Thinking of this, Yang Zhao stood up and walked towards the buffet area.
Surely Hua Man couldn’t have gotten lost here?
From a distance, she saw Hua Man standing in the dessert section, talking to a woman. Her expression seemed somewhat impatient.
Was she being bullied, or was someone trying to chat her up?
Yang Zhao didn’t rush over to intervene, instead finding a suitable spot to quietly observe.
She was very curious how Hua Man would handle this kind of situation.
“Honestly, I really like you. Come work for me, I can offer you an even higher salary.”
She just didn’t expect the first sentence she heard would make her so angry.
Yang Zhao’s face instantly darkened.
She wasn’t being bullied or hit on, someone was trying to poach her.
Her cold gaze fixed on Hua Man’s face. If Hua Man dared to agree, she would definitely…
“Oh really?” Hua Man, who had been about to step away, looked back at the woman with seeming interest. “How much salary are you offering?”
Yang Zhao froze.
“No matter how much Yang Zhao is paying you, I can offer double as long as you come work for me,” the woman said, not yet realizing the danger approaching. There was some disappointment on her face. “Hua Man, when they first said you were working as someone’s bodyguard, I didn’t believe it. I thought you wouldn’t stoop to that level…”
It was someone Hua Man knew from before.
Yang Zhao narrowed her eyes.
“Do you know what kind of person Yang Zhao is?”
“She’s just a madwoman, extremely emotionally unstable, always hitting people for no reason.”
“The salary she offers is indeed high, after all, money is all she has. Everyone hates her, so she can only use money to…”
Before she could finish speaking, she saw a familiar figure and her words caught in her throat, her mind going blank for a moment.
The approaching person radiated murderous intent. Two words flashed through her mind – It’s over.
