Fell in Love with the Crazy Young Lady - Chapter 19
Yang Zhao paused her dancing motion and looked up at Hua Man, raising an eyebrow as if questioning.
Hua Man couldn’t find a reason.
She couldn’t exactly say she was worried about Yang Zhao’s “little rabbits” colliding with someone else’s?
That would be too embarrassing to say out loud.
Hua Man hesitated for a long time, unable to speak. Just then, someone suddenly bumped into her from behind. She stumbled forward.
The soft parts collided again. She was steadied by Yang Zhao, and could feel Yang Zhao’s breath on her ear.
Her heart rate inexplicably quickened, and her breathing became uncontrollably rapid.
Hua Man immediately stepped back, only to be pushed forward again by someone dancing wildly.
She wasn’t sure if it was her imagination, but she thought she heard a soft laugh.
Just as she steadied herself and looked up, she met Yang Zhao’s amused gaze.
Hua Man: “…”
Apparently it wasn’t her imagination.
Probably because it was the weekend, there were far too many people on the dance floor. Hua Man could even see quite a few people embracing and kissing as they danced.
Hua Man couldn’t stand it anymore. She grabbed Yang Zhao’s wrist and pulled her off the dance floor without explanation.
Hua Man led her to a booth on the side.
The booth was far from the dance floor and not as noisy.
Yang Zhao sat down on the sofa, arms crossed: “Why did you pull me over here?”
There was dissatisfaction in her tone.
“It was too chaotic over there,” Hua Man said sheepishly.
“How is it chaotic here?” Yang Zhao asked, puzzled.
She looked towards the dance floor: “Everyone’s here to have fun, to let loose. It’s interesting and relieves stress, doesn’t it?”
On the crowded dance floor, everyone’s expressions were relaxed and smiling without restraint, as if forgetting all their troubles. How interesting.
Hua Man was stunned.
Relieve stress?
Did Yang Zhao have stress?
Because of the field archery competition, because of that mistaken 9-ring shot?
Seeing Hua Man silent, Yang Zhao leaned back on the sofa, looking her over: “Is this your first time at a bar?”
Surprised to see Hua Man shake her head, she asked: “You’ve been before?”
As she spoke, her expression became strange.
Hua Man had a very upright face, looking like the type of good student who followed rules strictly and studied seriously. How could she have been to a place like a bar?
“Who brought you here?” she asked, pressing her lips together hard.
“I came by myself.” Not liking to say too much about her private affairs, Hua Man was brief, then changed the subject, “There’s still the closing ceremony tomorrow, shouldn’t you rest early tonight?”
“By yourself?” Yang Zhao looked at her suspiciously, “You’re not just trying to fool me, are you?”
She completely ignored Hua Man’s attempt to change the subject.
She seemed determined to get to the bottom of it.
Hua Man avoided her gaze, but finally explained: “I worked part-time at a bar during school.”
“Part-time?” Yang Zhao didn’t understand, “The Yang family’s wages aren’t low, your mother could fully support you.”
Hua Man: “I have hands and feet, and I’m an adult. I’m no longer at an age where I need others to support me.”
Yang Zhao raised an eyebrow.
She was quite keen on supporting Hua Man.
But if Hua Man wouldn’t even let her own mother support her, would she let Yang Zhao do it?
It was truly frustrating. She had originally wanted to keep Hua Man by her side amicably.
Leisurely pouring herself a drink, she thoughtfully sipped while looking Hua Man over.
She rarely failed to get what she wanted, and people were no exception.
When it came to Hua Man, she was determined to succeed.
If Hua Man was willing, it would be mutual affection. If she wasn’t willing, that was fine too – Yang Zhao always had ways to make Hua Man willing.
Hmm, Yu Shan should have taken care of everything for her by now, right?
Noticing Yang Zhao’s gaze constantly on her face, Hua Man endured for a long time before finally speaking up: “What is it?”
“Nothing,” Yang Zhao said innocently.
Hua Man frowned: “You keep staring at me.”
That kind of look…
It made her feel strange.
“So domineering, I’m not even allowed to look?” Yang Zhao said, leaning forward with one hand on the table. She rested her chin on her hand, looking even more intently, “You’re good-looking, am I not allowed to look a bit more?”
Her directness made the back of Hua Man’s ears instantly heat up.
Flustered, she lowered her head and hastily picked up her chopsticks, grabbing something random and putting it in her mouth.
Unfortunately, she hadn’t realized she’d grabbed a chili pepper. She bit down unexpectedly, and the spicy flavor instantly made her start coughing.
Yang Zhao had good eyesight and had seen it was a chili pepper when Hua Man picked it up. She deliberately didn’t warn her. Now seeing her choking with reddened eyes, Yang Zhao suppressed a smile and said: “I didn’t realize you liked eating chili peppers.”
“Or -” she deliberately drew out her words, “Did you get shy because I called you good-looking?”
Hua Man had just barely managed to suppress her urge to cough. Hearing Yang Zhao’s teasing, her face grew even hotter.
She certainly wouldn’t admit to being shy, so she could only cough while swallowing the chili pepper: “I… cough! Quite… cough cough… like eating them.”
Yang Zhao laughed: “Manman, you’re so cute.”
Hua Man: “…”
Ignoring Yang Zhao, her mouth was now frantically producing saliva, the spiciness making even her ears hurt.
Just then, a glass of water suddenly appeared before her. Hua Man instinctively took it and tilted her head back to drink.
She downed the spicy alcohol in one gulp. It was only after the taste spread through her mouth that she belatedly realized what she had just drunk, and started coughing uncontrollably again.
She coughed urgently, tears glistening at the corners of her eyes.
Yang Zhao couldn’t help but swirl her glass, and finally couldn’t resist leaning forward to reach out.
Before she could wipe away those tears, Hua Man quickly dodged backwards as if facing a great enemy.
Like she had encountered a fierce beast.
Yang Zhao narrowed her eyes, a layer of gloom gathering in her gaze.
The way Hua Man dodged her was truly irritating.
But she quickly hid her emotions, curving her lips to say: “How did you manage to choke on a drink? Manman, don’t be in such a rush.”
With that, she tilted her head back and drank the alcohol in her own glass.
“Yang Zhao?”
A woman’s voice suddenly rang out.
Hua Man looked up, surprised to see Li Miaohe again. She held a bottle of alcohol in one hand, her other arm around a scantily-clad woman with a good figure.
Hua Man’s scalp instantly went numb.
She suddenly realized that the patrons of this bar all seemed to be women.
Most of those embracing and kissing were also women.
Looking closely, even those she had thought were men seemed to just be women dressed in a more androgynous style.
So this was a lesbian bar?
Realizing this, Hua Man felt like she was sitting on pins and needles.
Li Miaohe had already sat down with them, her arm around the woman. She leaned back on the sofa, smilingly looking them over while saying: “What a coincidence, you two are here to play as well?”
As she spoke, her gaze flowed ambiguously between Hua Man and Yang Zhao.
Especially when she saw Hua Man’s red and swollen lips, she couldn’t help but look at Yang Zhao with a meaningful smile.
Yang Zhao still remembered this person trying to get Hua Man’s contact information, and had no good expression for her: “What’s it to you?”
“Why so angry?” Li Miaohe wasn’t offended. She put the alcohol on the table and said with a smile: “Running into each other is fate, let’s share a table.”
The woman she brought opened the alcohol and poured some for Li Miaohe, holding up the glass to feed her.
Li Miaohe didn’t drink, dodging backwards: “I don’t want to be fed like that.”
The woman raised her hand to pat Li Miaohe, coquettishly saying: “Why are you so bad?”
With that, she took a sip herself, then turned to kiss Li Miaohe.
Hua Man froze.
Their kiss was so sudden that Hua Man witnessed the entire process without warning.
By the time she reacted, the two had already separated.
Because of the kiss, there were still some silvery threads on Li Miaohe’s red lips. She paid no attention to others’ gazes, simply sticking out her tongue to lick them away before smiling at Hua Man: “Do you want to try too?”
Yang Zhao’s face immediately darkened, her hand already reaching for the alcohol placed nearby.
Before she could touch it, she heard Hua Man say coldly: “I don’t want to.”
Yang Zhao’s gaze shifted, looking thoughtfully at Li Miaohe embracing her female companion, and slowly withdrew her hand.
Li Miaohe didn’t know she had just escaped danger. She looked at Yang Zhao again: “Yang Zhao, how can you come out to play without bringing someone? If you can’t find anyone, I know a few good-looking girls.”
Yang Zhao laughed: “No matter how good-looking, are they as beautiful as my Manman?”
Li Miaohe was speechless.
Obviously not.
She didn’t bring it up again. Her new girlfriend in her arms was unhappy with being ignored and pinched her hand. Li Miaohe stopped paying attention to Yang Zhao and the others, focusing on flirting with her new girlfriend.
They were uninhibited, kissing from time to time, and their hands weren’t idle either. Hua Man saw Li Miaohe’s hand groping the woman’s chest several times.
She had thought Yang Zhao would get angry, but turning her head, she found this young miss watching with great interest, not looking like she would get angry at all.
Hua Man’s heart skipped a beat.
She couldn’t quite put her finger on the feeling, but she had an ominous premonition.
She couldn’t help frowning again as she looked at the two women. She completely failed to understand why they couldn’t do such intimate things in private, how they could be so blatantly intimate in front of others.
“You two…” The two gazes opposite finally made Li Miaohe unable to continue. She was at a loss for words, “Can’t you two mind your own business? Why do you keep staring at me?”
“I reserved this booth, I’ll look wherever I want,” Yang Zhao said, arms crossed. “You two continue, I don’t mind.”
Li Miaohe: “…”
She minded!
With that eager-to-learn look in her eyes, people who didn’t know better might think Yang Zhao was observing to study something.
Embracing her girlfriend as she stood up, she waved her hand: “We’ll be going first, you two enjoy yourselves.”
With her gone, Yang Zhao found it boring.
She didn’t sit much longer before standing up: “Let’s go back.”
Hua Man breathed a sigh of relief and quickly followed.
She had been anxious that Yang Zhao might cause some trouble at the bar, but fortunately they got through it without incident.
It was still early, but Yang Zhao had the driver take them directly back to the hotel.
Adhering to the principle that less trouble is better than more, Hua Man resisted asking too many questions.
–
The next day, the awards ceremony began.
As expected, Yang Zhao won the field archery championship.
Watching her stand on the podium like a little peacock, Hua Man actually felt a sense of pride.
Hua Man had originally thought Yang Zhao’s quality of life here was far inferior to that at the Yang family home. Now that she had won the award, they could quickly return. But she didn’t expect Yang Zhao to be in no hurry to leave at all.
“We haven’t had a chance to properly tour around these past two competition days. We should fully appreciate the scenery of the Stone Forest before leaving,” Yang Zhao said, giving Hua Man a meaningful look.
Wanting to play around was just an excuse. The bigger reason was to create opportunities to be alone with Hua Man.
She couldn’t wait any longer. She had to win Hua Man over.
That evening, she had someone arrange a candlelit dinner.
Gently swirling the wine glass in her hand, she looked curiously at Hua Man: “Why aren’t you drinking?”
“I’m your bodyguard,” Hua Man said, exasperated. Yang Zhao always seemed to forget her identity.
“You think there’s any danger here? This is in our suite,” Yang Zhao said with a laugh. “Besides, this is a society governed by law. You think anyone would dare to harm me?”
Standing behind Hua Man, Yang Zhao bent down, one arm hooked around her neck, the other hand pressing the wine glass to her lips: “Take a sip, and I’ll tell you why I have so many bodyguards. How about it?”
It wasn’t really appealing.
Hua Man actually didn’t want to hear too many of these rich family secrets, but their current posture was far too intimate. She could clearly feel the softness pressed against her back, and even more so the scent of the other’s perfume.
That fragrance tightly wrapped and entwined around her. She felt like she could hardly breathe.
She could only open her mouth as the wine glass pressed against it.
The crimson liquid flowed into her mouth. Before she could taste it, she hastily swallowed. The wine’s aroma lingered in her throat, but she had no time to savor it. She only raised her hand to grasp Yang Zhao’s porcelain-like arm: “I drank.”
She didn’t dare use too much force. After all, last time she had only used a little strength and Yang Zhao’s arm had been left with deep finger marks.
“In such a hurry?” Yang Zhao curved her lips. Knowing Hua Man wanted to pull her away, she instead held her tighter, softly saying in her ear, “I was kidnapped when I was young.”
Hua Man was stunned.
“Want to know who the kidnapper was?” Yang Zhao said, releasing her and pouring more wine into the glass. She turned to lean against the edge of the table, looking down at Hua Man for a few seconds before leaning forward to press the wine glass to her lips again, “Drink the wine.”
Hua Man looked up at her.
Yang Zhao should be very happy. There was a glimmer in her eyes. Remembering how she had stayed at the archery range every day for this competition, Hua Man finally didn’t spoil her mood.
She just didn’t expect Yang Zhao to pour so urgently this time. She had no time to swallow before all the wine rushed in.
“Cough—”
Unable to swallow the wine in time, it spilled from the corners of her mouth.
“Ah, sorry.”
Yang Zhao came forward, one hand gently patting Hua Man’s back, the other wiping the wine that had spilled from the corners of her mouth.
Feeling the sensation on her fingertips, Yang Zhao’s eyes gradually deepened. She couldn’t help lifting Hua Man’s chin. Seeing the other’s shocked gaze, she curved her lips and lowered her head to lightly lick the corner of Hua Man’s mouth.
Her tongue darted out, lightly sweeping the corner of Hua Man’s lips before quickly withdrawing. She curved her eyes:
“So sweet.”
