Fell in Love with the Crazy Young Lady - Chapter 9
Of course Hua Man wouldn’t tattle to the young miss, but Gao Yanhua’s words had indeed affected her.
“Still troubled?” Looking at her daughter hiding her head under the blanket on the bed, Chen Yan sighed again. But remembering the events of the day, she felt relieved, “I used to worry that you wouldn’t share any of your hardships, just bearing all grievances on your own. Now I feel a bit more at ease.”
Hua Man pulled back the blanket: “You also think I tattled to the young miss?”
Chen Yan was surprised: “Didn’t you?”
Hua Man closed her eyes in anguish.
If even her own mother thought so, what about everyone else?
The young miss had killed two birds with one stone today, both humiliating Qin Fangqin severely and thoroughly tying herself to her ship.
From today on, she was completely on the opposing side of that mother-daughter pair.
What about Hua Xi’s situation?
She had gone to the hospital in the afternoon. The hospital was vague, only saying that further treatment would depend on the director’s arrangements.
And she couldn’t even get to see the director.
Hua Man knew that Hua Xi’s treatment would likely not progress any further.
That neurology professor had a 65% recovery rate for his patients. In recent years since becoming the director, he had rarely taken on new patients. Ordinary people simply couldn’t get an appointment.
Thinking of this, Hua Man took a deep breath and covered her face with the blanket again.
Her hand was grasped by Chen Yan, whose worried voice sounded: “Manman, I’m not at ease with you here. Why don’t…”
“Mom.” Hua Man said in a muffled voice, “Didn’t you say the young miss is a good person? Now I’m her person, what are you worried about?”
Chen Yan sighed: “Yes, logically I should be at ease.”
But ever since hearing about the day’s events, she had started to feel uneasy.
From an employer-employee relationship perspective, the young miss was indeed a good person.
Although she had a bad temper, she was generous to people and didn’t arbitrarily mistreat servants.
But what if it wasn’t an employer-employee relationship?
If it was another kind of relationship, would the young miss still be a good person?
–
“Why do you have such dark circles under your eyes again today?” Seeing the two dark circles hanging on her beautiful bodyguard’s fair face right after waking up, Yang Zhao couldn’t help but click her tongue, “Are you working two jobs behind my back?”
Hua Man’s expression remained unchanged: “It’s natural.”
Hearing such a half-hearted excuse, Yang Zhao frowned in displeasure.
“Is the room they arranged for you uncomfortable?” She decided on the spot, “Starting today, you’ll stay here with me.”
“Miss!!” Yu Shan couldn’t help but cry out, “How can you let someone of unknown origins stay here?”
“I’m not uncomfortable where I’m staying.” Hua Man also spoke up promptly.
The Yang family estate was very large, with good employee benefits including dedicated staff dormitories.
Her current dormitory was in the same building as her mother’s, so they were close and could look after each other. Of course, most importantly, it was far from where the young miss lived, so there was no worry of encountering the young miss during off-hours.
If she moved into the young miss’s building, would there even be a distinction between work and off hours?
The thing working people dread most is when work and life become entangled. At work you’re a workhorse, and off work you’re still under the boss’s nose.
Just thinking about it was suffocating.
“Oh, even if you’re not uncomfortable I still want you to live closer to me.” Yang Zhao paid no mind to Hua Man’s answer. She was used to being domineering and directly settled the decision, “Move over here today, live next door to me.”
Seeing Hua Man’s reaction, she unhappily darkened her face: “You don’t want to live with me.”
Hua Man: “…”
Wouldn’t it be normal not to want to?
But the young miss was unreasonable. Hua Man didn’t want to provoke her for now, so she could only seriously look for a reason: “I want to live closer to my mom.”
Yang Zhao was stunned: “Your mom?”
Looking at Hua Man’s serious face, she was speechless: “Are you a mama’s girl?”
Are you a three-year-old child?
Still need to find your mom?
Hua Man’s expression remained unchanged: “Yes.”
She didn’t think the young miss would arrange for her mom to live here too for her sake.
The good news was, as she had guessed, the young miss indeed didn’t insist on having her live here anymore.
Unfortunately, it was accompanied by some bad news – the young miss would occasionally tease her about this.
The young miss’s teasing wasn’t malicious mockery or contempt, it seemed to be purely for the sake of teasing or amusing herself.
To the point that later on, Gao Yanhua would occasionally sigh to her: “I really couldn’t tell, you’re actually a mama’s girl like me?”
Every time this happened, Hua Man felt the frustration of having shot herself in the foot.
She had thought that with the passage of time, the young miss would forget about this matter, but even a week later, the young miss was still resting her chin on her hand asking: “When you act coy with your mom, do you also have a sour face?”
Hua Man: “…I don’t act coy.”
“Aren’t you a mama’s girl?” Yang Zhao raised her eyebrows.
After a week, Hua Man no longer had the initial fear towards the young miss. She calmly asked back: “Who says mama’s girls must act coy?”
Yang Zhao was stumped.
After a few seconds of silence, she said displeased: “Hua Man, you’re getting bolder and bolder now.”
Yu Shan immediately nodded: “Miss, how are you only realizing this now? She’s really gotten so bold lately!”
Hua Man lowered her head, not making a sound.
She only heard a light snort from the young miss, but the other party didn’t continue to make trouble over this matter.
The young miss never dwelled on such small issues.
After staying at the Yang family for over a week, Hua Man had more or less figured out the young miss’s temperament.
This young miss could even turn a blind eye to servants stealing her valuables, let alone such small matters.
The young miss would only reliably go crazy over matters involving the Qin Fangqin mother-daughter pair.
But these past couple days, Hua Man noticed the young miss seemed to be practicing archery more frequently.
Following the young miss into the archery range more often, Hua Man realized her worries from the first day were somewhat excessive.
The young miss’s archery skills were very good.
For a target the size of an apple, as long as that woman didn’t move around, the young miss could definitely hit it.
As soon as this thought arose, Hua Man frowned tightly.
Though she hadn’t been by the young miss’s side for long, her way of thinking seemed to have already changed somewhat.
Even with excellent archery skills, one shouldn’t use people as targets. What was she thinking?
“The young miss was really right.” Taking advantage of the young miss practicing archery, Gao Yanhua said softly, “You seem to be unhappy every day.”
Realizing she had frowned again, Hua Man raised her hand to pinch between her brows, but still explained: “I’m not unhappy every day.”
There were just too many worries lately.
“Naturally not fond of smiling?” Gao Yanhua blinked.
Hua Man nodded randomly: “Right.”
The young miss’s displeased voice came over: “What are you two whispering about behind my back?”
The smile on Gao Yanhua’s face instantly disappeared as she hurriedly lowered her head to apologize.
Yang Zhao only raised her head to look at Hua Man. Seeing her also lowering her head with an indifferent expression, she raised her hand: “Come here.”
Gao Yanhua didn’t even need to raise her head to know who the young miss was talking to.
Over this past week and more, the young miss’s interest in Hua Man had only increased. Everyone else seemed like just background characters in the young miss’s eyes, she only had eyes for Hua Man.
Hua Man pressed her lips together and stepped forward.
The young miss suddenly had the urge to be a teacher: “Come, I’ll teach you.”
Hua Man’s footsteps instantly stopped.
She tried to soften her tone: “I’m a slow learner, so I won’t waste the young miss’s time.”
“It’s alright.” The young miss didn’t mind, “The process is what’s important, not the result.”
Hua Man: “…”
Knowing that the young miss’s orders were never to be refused, Hua Man fell silent for a few seconds before obediently going forward to take the bow and arrow handed to her by the young miss.
The young miss’s things were naturally of good quality. Although she knew nothing about archery, the moment she took it in hand and felt the smooth texture, she knew this bow was extraordinary.
It fit well in her hand and felt comfortable to hold.
Soon servants brought over protective gear. Looking at those things, Hua Man’s head ached.
She had planned to just go through the motions, but putting on protective gear had a different meaning. It would be much more serious and formal.
She looked at the young miss, but before she could speak, the other party had already taken the protective gear and smiled: “You’ll get hurt if you don’t obediently wear the protective gear. Be good.”
Hua Man fell silent.
Be good? Be obedient?
Was she a three-year-old child?
Suppressing her complaints, she quickly put on the gear before the young miss could personally help her, finally holding the bow and arrow and looking towards the target.
The next second, her foot was lightly kicked by the young miss: “Feet shoulder-width apart…”
Hua Man kept adjusting according to her words. Just when the lower half posture was finally correct, the young miss’s hand suddenly reached over.
Her hand was as smooth as jade. Hua Man froze.
Yang Zhao adjusted her bow-holding posture, glancing at her reddened ears again. Her mood instantly improved as she asked: “Do you know why I like archery?”
