- Chapter 10 - Protagonist: Alone with the Personal Maid
A little while after the uniform date, one day, Lady Lilia was called to Allen’s room, leaving hers vacant. During that time, I ended up having tea with Urs, Lady Lilia’s personal maid. Urs is a woman with wolf-like golden eyes and long red hair. She always calls Lady Lilia “My Lady.”
Urs expertly brewed the tea. As steam rose from the cup, her wolf-like sharp eyes fixed on me.
“My Lady seems to have a lot of fun when she’s with you.”
I was both surprised and pleased by the sudden remark. I enjoy every day spent with Lady Lilia. It makes me happy to know that Lady Lilia enjoys our time together as well. A smile unconsciously spread across my face.
“I’m so glad to hear that.”
Urs observed my reaction and let out a small chuckle. However, she quickly returned to a serious expression and said in a tone that seemed like a warning:
“Don’t make my Lady unhappy. You’d better treat her with care.”
There was a deep sense of loyalty—and perhaps affection—in Urs’s words toward Lady Lilia. I took the weight of her words seriously and nodded earnestly.
“Yes, Urs. I’ll treasure Lady Lilia and our connection.”
Urs seemed satisfied with my response and took another sip of her tea, grinning slightly.
“You said it, huh? Since she chose you, I’ll trust you.”
I felt something warm spread in my chest. Being acknowledged by Lady Lilia’s personal maid, Urs, meant a great deal to me. Relaxing just a little, I picked up my cup of tea and began sipping.
However, Urs’s next words took an unexpected turn.
“By the way… you’ve been looking at my Lady with some… rather suggestive eyes, haven’t you?”
I almost spat out my tea in surprise.
“W-w-w-why…!”
My hand shook as I held the cup, and my face turned bright red.
Seeing me fluster, Urs calmly continued.
“It’s pretty obvious when you’re staring at her chest and hips like that. Anyone could tell.”
I was even more embarrassed and covered my face with both hands. Now that I thought about it, it was true that I often found myself captivated by Lady Lilia’s beauty, but I didn’t realize it was so obvious.
“I didn’t mean to…”
Trying to explain myself, I was met with Urs’s amused smile.
“Don’t worry, my Lady hasn’t noticed. She’s a little clueless when it comes to herself.”
“Th-thank goodness…”
I let out a relieved sigh.
“Just make sure she doesn’t find out.”
“…Yes.”
I couldn’t say I wouldn’t look. I knew deep down that I would keep doing it.
“Urs, don’t you ever look at Lady Lilia that way?”
“Not really. I think she’s beautiful, but I’ve never felt any attraction like that. As long as I have good food, I’m content.”
Urs sure is unshakable.
“I’ve been thinking for a while now, but it feels like the relationship between you and Lady Lilia is different from that of other students and their personal maids. How did you two meet?”
“You won’t find it very interesting, but if you really want to know, I’ll tell you.”
Urs began to share the story of her background and how she met Lady Lilia.
Next time, Urs’s backstory.
Urs is supportive of the relationship between Liel and Lady Lilia, but she doesn’t intervene too much.
Urs: “If my Lady ends up with a good match and becomes happy, I bet the meals would taste even better.”
