Flirting Under Favor (GL) - Chapter 26
Mu Fan turned her head to look at the bathroom door. Wang Lin’s clearly unusual behavior made her a little worried. She rubbed her temples, wondering where she had said or done something wrong, but after thinking it over, she couldn’t figure it out. She couldn’t help but sigh at how unpredictable a girl’s mind was.
She wanted Wang Lin to be happy and cheerful. She loved to see her clean and sweet smile. Wang Lin’s current gloominess undoubtedly made her own heart heavy. She got dressed, ordered breakfast, and then sat on the chair, troubled by Wang Lin’s mood, thinking of ways to cheer her up. As she pondered, her thoughts drifted far away, recalling many things about Wang Lin. In the interim, the hotel staff brought breakfast. Mu Fan had them set it on the dining table, then continued to daydream intently, until Wang Lin appeared behind her, which brought her back to reality.
“Ah, you’re done,” she quickly stood up. Wang Lin stood gracefully before her. The sunlight streaming through the window shone on Wang Lin’s fair face, which was as bright and beautiful as the first clear day after snow, momentarily stunning Mu Fan.
“Mhm.”
Mu Fan leaned closer and asked: “Why do you look unhappy? Can you tell me what’s wrong?”
Wang Lin bit her lip, feeling a little indignant. The person responsible for her unhappiness was standing in front of her, asking why she was unhappy. The thought alone made her angry.
But she couldn’t lash out. Although it was because of Mu Fan, Mu Fan hadn’t done anything wrong, so how could she blame her? She could only endure it, which made her feel a little wronged. She sniffled.
Seeing Wang Lin’s lowered eyes and then her sniffle, Mu Fan’s heart instantly tightened. She roughly understood Wang Lin’s personality: she was emotional, crying easily and laughing easily.
Looking at Wang Lin, she showed no inclination to reveal the reason. If Mu Fan pressed further, she might actually start crying.
Having made up her mind, Mu Fan placed her hands on Wang Lin’s shoulders, smiling gently with a seductive charm: “Should we go out and have fun?”
Sure enough, upon hearing this, Wang Lin’s eyes brightened immediately. She looked up and tentatively asked: “Mhm? Not going to work?”
“I can take leave,” Mu Fan said.
Mu Fan could see her hardly suppressed excitement, but Wang Lin still asked cautiously: “Is that okay? Will it not affect your work?”
“It won’t affect it. Things here are mostly on track, so I don’t need to follow up constantly. It’s not a big problem. Since you skipped class and drove here late at night to find me, it’s only right that I take time off to play with you.”
A smile finally bloomed on Wang Lin’s face. Her eyes curved, revealing a row of cute little teeth. She couldn’t help but give Mu Fan a bear hug, embracing her tightly, unreservedly expressing her happy and excited feelings.
“That’s great! Mu Fan, you’re so good!”
Mu Fan stumbled back a step from the impact. After steadying herself, she reached out and wrapped her arms around Wang Lin’s soft body.
“Alright, let’s eat breakfast first.”
She loosened her grip. Wang Lin obediently drew back from her arms, nodding excitedly: “Mhm!” Then she rushed to the dining table and sat down, picking up the milk and gulping it down.
Mu Fan breathed a sigh of relief. She still preferred to see Wang Lin happy.
The two finished breakfast in about four or five minutes. Mu Fan began tidying up the pile of clothes on Wang Lin’s bed into the closet. Wang Lin hovered beside her, offering no help, just taking out her phone to search for fun places in K City.
“This ancient street looks quite good…”
“The reviews for this trendy shop are great…”
“This scenic spot is beautiful…”
“The internet says the food at this restaurant is delicious…”
Wang Lin scrolled through her phone while holding it out for Mu Fan to see, chattering non-stop. She wanted to go everywhere with Mu Fan.
Mu Fan discussed with her while hanging the clothes. When Wang Lin stood aside again, silently scrolling on her phone, Mu Fan finally couldn’t help but ask: “Can you tell me why you were unhappy earlier?”
Wang Lin paused, holding her phone with both hands. She turned slightly and asked: “You really want to know?”
“Mhm. I like seeing you happy. If you’re unhappy, I’ll worry.” Mu Fan didn’t deny it. Her tone was as gentle as possible, hoping Wang Lin would tell her the reason.
Wang Lin pursed her lips. She didn’t want to worry Mu Fan, so she gave Mu Fan a reason that wasn’t entirely complete but was enough to put Mu Fan’s mind at ease.
“I was upset thinking you would go to work and leave me alone.”
Mu Fan was startled, then immediately showed an “I see” expression, smiling as she said: “Little Clingy.”
She rubbed Wang Lin’s head twice. Seeing her obediently accept it, she couldn’t resist being playful, rubbing hard and messily a few more times, turning Wang Lin’s hair into a bird’s nest.
Wang Lin quickly dodged Mu Fan’s ‘evil hands’, looking at Mu Fan’s mischievous smile. While using her hands to straighten her hair, she complained crisply: “You’re mean! You fix it for me.” But her hair was smooth, and she could easily smooth it back to normal with a few pushes of her hand.
Suddenly, her hands froze on her head, as if scratching it, with a charmingly silly look.
She asked cautiously: “Then, do you like me clinging to you?”
Mu Fan instinctively said: “Mhm?”
After a very brief silence, she answered affirmatively:
“I like it.”
It was like a surge of sweet warmth rushed into her chest. Wang Lin’s mouth was slightly agape, ecstatic. Her heart was cheering with joy, and her eyes sparkled brightly. She desperately wanted to instantly transform into an octopus and cling onto Mu Fan.
Mu Fan’s clear permission finally allowed her to stop testing cautiously. She could fully release the impulse in her heart to be intimate with Mu Fan, without restraint, without fear.
Her heart was intensely excited. The wild horses that had been corralled in her heart all galloped out. She lightly jumped up, hooking her arms around Mu Fan’s shoulders, leaning forward, and pouncing onto Mu Fan. She asked softly: “Really?”
Even though she was somewhat prepared, Wang Lin’s pounce still made Mu Fan stumble. As luck would have it, she stepped on the paper bag that had fallen to the floor. After being tripped, her body couldn’t help but fall backward.
“Ah—” Mu Fan cried out in alarm. She tightly circled her arms around Wang Lin. The corner of her eye briefly scanned the surroundings. Her body twisted in mid-air and she fell onto the bed. The instant she hit the mattress, Wang Lin’s weight plus the force of the pounce all pressed down on Mu Fan, making her let out a muffled groan and involuntarily frown.
The two were face to face, separated by millimeters. Their warm breaths tangled, captivating their minds.
The culprit lay on top of her like a kitten, blinking. She was still smiling, but the next second, her smile froze.
She was a little stunned.
Mu Fan’s expression, with her delicate eyebrows slightly furrowed and her gaze soft, looked somewhat pitiable. This wasn’t the first time. On the very first morning they met, she had pinned Mu Fan down like this. Mu Fan had looked the same then. At that time, Mu Fan had asked her to get off, and she worried about crushing Mu Fan, so she had obediently complied. But this time, she didn’t want to. Besides, Mu Fan still hadn’t said anything.
She knew Mu Fan must be uncomfortable being pinned down like this, so she pushed up on the bed with her elbows. She only lessened the pressure on Mu Fan but didn’t get off her.
Mu Fan’s eyelashes fluttered. After the pressure on her body lessened, she took a few large gasps of air, her expression melancholic. Her lips parted and closed, but no sound came out.
The pressure on her body was gone, but her body seemed somewhat reluctant to let go. The hands circling Wang Lin’s slim waist instinctively tightened, wanting Wang Lin’s body to be closer to hers…
Feeling the strength in Mu Fan’s hands, Wang Lin tilted her head back in confusion. The movement startled Mu Fan, and she instantly loosened her grip considerably.
“Of course,” Mu Fan said, looking away and tilting her head, “It’s true.”
Wang Lin gave a mischievous smile and said: “Is this okay too?” (Meaning, pinning you down.)
Without thinking, Mu Fan blurted out: “No.”
Wang Lin continued teasingly: “But I like seeing you like this right now. You look easy to bully. It’s very different from your usual self.” Wang Lin knew, based on internet terms, that she looked like a ‘Submissive’ (Shou).
Mu Fan’s forehead was lined with black streaks. What do you mean, easy to bully? Preposterous! With a movement of her elbow, she propped herself up and flipped to the side, completely reversing their positions.
She looked down at Wang Lin, her eyes challenging, as if saying to Wang Lin: Who did you say was easy to bully?
The sudden “shift” left Wang Lin a little bewildered. For some reason, her heart hammered like a drum. A strange feeling spread through her body. She was somewhat anticipating something.
Her hands honestly and involuntarily hooked onto Mu Fan’s neck and pulled her down. A desire welled up in her heart, just short of directly saying: Kiss me. Her eyes were hazy, with only Mu Fan as the sole star.
Feeling the force in Wang Lin’s hands, Mu Fan seemed to lose the ability to think. Following Wang Lin’s lead, she slowly and mechanically lowered her head.
The phone rang just in time.
There was still a small distance between the two of them, so it wasn’t overly awkward.
Mu Fan exerted force with her hands, stood straight up, picked up the phone from the table, looked at the caller ID, and couldn’t help but frown.
“Hello,” she answered the call.
Wang Lin couldn’t hear what the person on the other end was saying, but she saw that Mu Fan’s frown never eased.
Two minutes later.
“Okay, I’ll be right there.” She hung up the phone, looked at Wang Lin, and parted her lips to speak.
Wang Lin sat on the edge of the bed and asked: “Work matter?”
“Mhm. A sudden problem came up that requires me to handle it personally. I’m sorry—”
“It’s okay.” Wang Lin interrupted her. “Work is important.”
Mu Fan’s eyes were full of apology. She tentatively asked: “Then you—”
“I’m fine! My mood is great now. You go ahead. I’ll wait for you to come back.”
“Mhm, I’ll be as quick as I can.”
After gathering the things she needed to take, Mu Fan walked to the door. Wang Lin followed her.
She handed her car key to Mu Fan.
“No need. It’s not far. Besides, I haven’t driven here before. If I suddenly drive a Benz over, people will definitely ask questions, and it will be difficult to handle.”
“Oh.”
Mu Fan stopped at the door, pinched Wang Lin’s cheek, and said: “I’m leaving now.”
“Ouch!” Wang Lin cried out in an injured tone.
Mu Fan was taken aback. She hadn’t used much force.
“Only a kiss will make it better.”
Mu Fan: “…”
Fine.
